Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

Had a Birthday Celebration with three friends from out-​of-​town. Service was as Impeccable as the meal! Friends were impressed and delighted to be so pampered.

Three years ago, we had a very bad experience wth both food and service. We waited until now to give this Flemings another try. We’re glad we did! Sunday prime rib dinner @$ 29.95 is an excellent value. The beef was tasty, well prepared per our requests, and the service by Paul was outstanding, attentive, friendly, and not at all snooty. The prime rib portion was huge, enough for two meals. Only negative: don’t ruin your excellent loaf of bread wth a Parmesan crust. In fact putting cheese in the spreads for the bread ruins them as well. We will go back to Flemings again based on this mostly positive experience.

Honestly I had better at lone star. Order wygu steak the ribeye at lone star was more tender and my bill there with app was 42. Here it was 112 when I finished with just one beer. I will not go back and I suggest lone star before here.

I have always been a great fan of this upscale restaurant, especially for special occasions and celebrations. This time we had requested the Ringling Room and were happy to be seated there. The food, as always was exceptional, enjoyed by all, the service however left a LOT to be desired. Sherri was our waitress, and forgot to take the drink order of one of my guests. Then later forgot to take the dinner order of another guest, until of course we pointed out her oversight. All food was brought out piece meal, some given to the wrong patron. I can understand if the restaurant was overflowing with guests, but it was practically empty, so there was no excuse for this kind of service. Devin, who was helping Sherri out was a shining star, very friendly and helpful, we could only wish that Sherri had been more on the ball. Of course, I may still go back to this restaurant because the food really is THAT great, but hope to never had this waitress again!!!

We went to Flemings once before for their happy hour. This time we decided to go for dinner.
Although, we took advantage of happy hour, and then were too full to try dinner. They offer a very nice happy hour, with good choices of beers, lines and mixed drinks. A lot of places only offer few choices. Flemings offers a great many.
To at least be different, we tried different things then we had our last time. We tried their house made Burrata. It’s a type of mozzarella cheese mixed with oil’s to make it spreadable and is really delicious. It’s served with very delicious toast, as well as a small arugula salad and roasted tomatoes. It’s a very generous portion. Next we moved onto their beef carpaccio. My husband especially love that because it had peppercorns on it. It was also excellent.
And their happy hour bacon cheeseburgers, come with a full-​size cheeseburger and fries. Truly a delicious burger.
They’re happy hour is a very nice deal.
Next time we come back, we will definitely come for a steak.

I was incredibly disappointed for my first experience at Fleming’s in Sarasota.
The Good: Wait staff is excellent. They are attentive and very good at their jobs.
The bad: My steak.
This was my date night with my wife that I get to see about 2 – 3 days per week (we have divergent schedules). I like to be extravagant for our dates and Fleming’s seemed like a great idea. She ordered a 6oz filet mignon while I got the 12 cooked to medium-​well.
First time they come out, hers is fine, mine is cooked to medium rare. Way too much pink for my taste. So, I send it back. 15 minutes later, I get mine back and it’s now charred from being overcooked. So, on my date, I now do not get to actually enjoy my entrée at the same time as my wife. Fleming’s — to their credit — offers to make me a new one which takes over 20 minutes.
By this time, I am filling on bread and my side dish while waiting. I finally get my steak and am able to consume less than half. The rest went to my dog the next day.
The Surprising: The booth we were sitting at was very loud located next to the bar area. Certainly not happy that I had a hard time hearing my conversations with my wife and the wait staff.
We got a free dessert and their box of chocolates at the end, but overall I was extremely disappointed at what $ 150 plus tip paid for.

We came here for an anniversary celebration and it’s without a doubt one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. The happy hour is outstanding. MUST TRY the tenderloin carpaccio, ahi tuna tacos, baked brie in a pastry puff, caesar salad and the prime rib dip. The pan crisped pork belly was THE standout dish of the night and we are still dreaming about it. As for drinks, the blueberry lemon drop martini is not to be missed (not too sweet, just tart enough). The service was first rate and they even surprised us with a printed picture that we took home with us. Amazing experience and we will definitely come back next time we are in Sarasota.

Perfect place to celebrate my birthday. They greeted me by saying Happy Birthday (my boyfriend mentioned that when making the reservation), escorted us quickly to our booth, where there was a single red rose and a birthday card waiting for me. The service was terrific (Jeff was our server; ask for him by name) and the food was sensational (we both had the Steak & Lobster Special). We shared the crème brûlée that I enjoyed with a cappuccino and my BF with a double espresso. At the conclusion of our meal, Jeff brought me a birthday plate containing a box of Fleming’s Signature Truffles with a birthday candle atop the gift box plus a $ 25 Fleming’s Gift Card for our next visit. Incredible! I am super impressed with the superior level of customer service!

My gf and I come here just for the dessert. The bartenders are wonderful and take great care of us. Great selection of wines too

I came here last Sunday for dinner and they were quite busy for a Sunday night. But the service was excellent. Out waitress was very attentive and our waters were constantly filled. I ordered the Prime Rib special (available on Sundays only) and was surprised at how delicious everything was. I started off with the Fleming’s Salad. The lemon vinaigrette was very light and not overpowering. I requested my prime rib to be rare and it came out perfect. I didn’t care for the horseradish dipping sauce though. I ended dinner with the Walnut Turtle Pie for dessert. The Turtle Pie was amazing! I liked that it was not overly sweet. I was not expecting much as I was hugely disappointed by my meal at the Tampa location. But this experience has changed my mind completely about Flemings and I will definitely be back to try the other menu items.

Exceeded my expectation. High quality steak that’s cooked just right… great deal at $ 39.99 on Sundays for a 3 course meal. Great portion too — my steak looked to be around 14 – 16 oz. Delicious salad and dessert. Good service and décor. Manager visited my table and asked if food was as I expected. Top notch restaurant.

We love Flemings. We are in this town for the weekend and we just got here it’s 5:00 pm on Friday. The place is empty. The girl at the front asks if we had reservation and we said no. She sat us at the worse table when we asked if we can get a booth she said they were by reservation only. Really? The place is empty. So I reached for my phone to call and make a reservation only to find I left my phone in the car. I asked for water with lemon. The lime and lemons were cut and red. :(we asked for the manager and they instead moved us to a booth. Not too happy about this place. If I wasn’t starving and tired from our drive I would leave.

Mouth watering food… six stars if I could… you get what you pay for… i’am getting hungry writing this review!!!

If this isn’t the definition of a 5 star restaurant, I don’t know what is. Great place, great food great drinks great service… as I read online before coming. And they remembered my birthday with a signed card by staff, nice touch! Top spot.

I’ve been to this location many times before and always had a good experience. Tonight I was disappointed. Both steaks were prepared incorrectly, but we did not send back since it took so long to get them.
The salads were ok but not as good as they used to be. Also they were out of the steak I had planned on ordering.
To be fair it was crowded, however the price was the same. Not the quality I expect.

I returned to Flemings on Saturday evening. What a wonderful experience this was. Everything from the greeting, my martini, the waiter David, and my meal was totally 5 star. I am from Charlotte and that location is 5 star but this visit even surpassed them.
The bread comes with 2 butter choices. My favorite was the Gorgonzola. It has so much flavor.
The crab cake (2) appetizer is lump meat and not covered in crumbs so you can really taste the crab and the subtle spices. Just the way to show off the freshness and quality. The sauce is light, tomatoey, creamy. Wonderful!
I also have had their calamari and it is very fresh, lightly fried with a delicious chili sauce. The burrata is very fresh and has lots of flavor with the grilled cherry tomatoes, arugula, and crostini. So smooth and creamy. Enough to share.
I usually order the filet (which is always good) but I wanted to try some thing different. I had the bone in ribeye. Wow, what a good choice! It came perfectly, and I mean perfectly, medium rare. It had great flavor and was perfectly seasoned. The creamed spinach is a have to in a great steak house. And it exceeded my expectations. It was so flavorful and creamy!
The wine is served by the bottle, of course, but I really like the option of ordering the wine by the glass in ounces 3, 6, 9oz. Nice to have the choice.
My waiter David was attentive, knew the menu and the wine list I felt cared for and I was very impressed. This is the restaurant I will come to with my special friends and family

I’ve been to other Flemings locations and always left very satisfied, not so much at this location this particular evening. Everything was the usual high standard, my wife’s fish outstanding, side dishes, service outstanding. But the bone — in ribeye I ordered was small and overdone. I have never sent a steak back to the kitchen but would have this time had it not been for the table next to us full of folks who clearly had been served too much. I’m sure I’ll try this location again, just a bad night I’m thinking. The price they charge for a steak, it should be a near perfect every time.

The reason you go to Flemings is for steak and I had one of the worst ones ever. The meat quality seemed similar to a cheap cut from a discount grocery store. Very disappointing specially when it comes with a 50 charge. We got the calamari which was good but way over sauced. The side items were good and the carrot cake was the best I ever had.

This is your standard upscale steak house. Nice steaks and sides, attractive décor and ambiance, busy bar, moderately to expensively priced as expected.
I’ve been here numerous times and keep coming back, so I must be a fan. It’s not perfect, but good enough.
The wine pours at the bar don’t feel or look like six ounces, servers have been with attitude but most often pleasant, steaks aren’t always cooked to temperature ordered but close enough.
Crab cakes, amazing dressing on the house salads, delicious short ribs, mashed potatoes, etc. are highlights.
Overall, a nice restaurant and worth a visit. They also are great with large parties having more than one private room.

My husband and I had an excellent dinner here. The staff wad phenomenal, especially our waitress Erin. She was extremely knowledgeable and very sweet.
The bread was warm with 2 different types of butter to pair with it was a good way to start.
We split the seafood appetizer which was fabulous. Had more crab legs, lobster and stone crab than we knew what to do with.
Dinner was a filet mignon and a New York strip with creamed spinach and mashed potatoes on the side. Both meats were cooked just right and extremely tender. And the sides were just as good.
Cappuccinos and soufflé for dessert which were just as awesome as the rest of the meal.
Just had a great date night thanks to Flemings, I would highly recommend!
