Epic Reef is a Sarasota, Florida full line Saltwater retail store specializing in live Coral Reefs for your home or office. We provide a full line of saltwater fish from reef-​safe fish to the fish-​only tank variety. Soft Corals (softies), Hard Corals (SPS, LPS), Mushroom Corals and Polyps, we have them all. In our store we have a unique variety of common and rare corals.

We’ve got it all and if we don’t have the fish, coral, or accessory you need, we’ll find it. As hobbyists ourselves, we are more than just a typical fish store, we care about the corals and fish we sell and like to provide the best corals and fish for your tank. We also offer local service plans for those who would like hassle-​free tank maintenance for their saltwater aquariums.

History

Established in 2011.

Epic Reef is a family owned and operated Full Service Saltwater retail store specializing in live Coral Reefs. Charlie Hancock the owner of Epic Reef has over 10 years experience in the reef hobby. After many years of being fed up with bad service, below quality coral, sick and diseased fish and the high costs at many of the local fish stores, he decided to open his own store to help change and grow the hobby in Sarasota.

In late 2011, Charlie opened up the Epic Reef store on Bee Ridge rd. and in just 2 years time has grown into almost twice the size from when he first opened. Now offering many unique species of fish, corals and accessories to meet the needs of any type of saltwater aquarist. If you are completely new to the hobby or even a seasoned veteran, Charlie at Epic Reef can provide the knowledge for your new beginnings or your continued success in the hobby.

Business Owner

Charlie is a true Floridian, 3^rd generation from Sarasota County. He has been in the Saltwater Aquarium hobby for over 10 years. His hobby is his passion and he enjoys working to help others succeed. Charlie has a strong presence in the Sarasota County Schools. He was instrumental in the launch of the Marine Biology facility at Riverview High School. He has also installed tanks for the students at Sarasota High School, Sarasota Military Academy and Cardinal Mooney. Charlie firmly believes the children are the future of the hobby.
