Dulany’s Grill and Bar

The place is good. People get pissed because they remove 1 thing or change 1 tiny thing and they give it like 1 – 3 stars. Piss of idiots.

They used to have an amazing cod sandwich here, but they changed the bun from a toasted hoggie to a untoasted sesame seed bun. By the time I took my first bite it was too late to just ditch the bun, the breading was stuck to the awful bun. The meat itself was very good, it just sucks some minor detail like the bun would ruin the whole sandwich. Hopefully they were just out of the bread they usually use and this was a substitute. If that is the case, I highly recommend they let customers know. Had this been my first time, I wouldn’t have come back, the meal wasn’t much better than a cod sandwich meal from Burger King and more than twice as expensive.

Wanted to hit a local spot for some upscale bar food (which I know that they have and more, as I have been here several times), but this visit warranted a post… in my opinion.
Walked in and was met by the very inviting aroma of seafood. Was promptly seated and didn’t see anything on the menu that would necessarily bring that beautiful smell, so I jumped up and checked the specials at the door (since I had forgotten to since I was seated so quickly). There it was: blue marlin.
I was now 100% sure of the source of the aroma, but not 100% sure what to expect. I was not disappointed. I was distracted during my short wait for my entrée by the wonderful, unctuous fried cannelloni appetizer bites. Then came the fish. Perfectly firm, perfectly delicate, perfectly seasoned, excellent Asian sauce, with great broccoli and cole slaw as accompaniments (I’m a sucker for a good cole slaw). The kicker here was the environment.
Everyone seems to know and love everybody. It’s a nice neighborhood place that’s «just busy enough», but you’re treated well. Then… I get a table visit from a distinguished looking gentleman in a yellow shirt.
I don’t know if he is a manager… looks more like an owner to me. Asks how everything is and I start in on the fish. He tells me that their fish is flown in from Hawaii, they don’t always know what they’re getting, but it’s super fresh and they build their specials around it. Then he pauses and says «I’ll be right back…». He comes back to the table with a metal pan full of sealed packages of fresh blue marlin. Gave me the back story, where they get them, that my fish had been swimming 2−3days prior, etc. We talked for a while longer, he wished us a good evening, and I will be back soon because of him. The food is really good. The bartender/​cocktail waitress was awesome. The manager was AWFUL. They mop the floors prematurely, right in front of the bathroom. I fell on the soaking floor. There was one wet floor sign… at the front door of the restaurant. I told the manager about this and he just laughed and said I probably had to much to drink… totally inappropriate. Despite the good food and good bar service, we won’t be back.

the food was okay. but it took almost an hour for us to get it. our waitress literally did nothing, except make us wait 20 minutes for our sons water. i had to go to our silverware and boxes myself. went bc it was on our way home, but i won’t go back.

My husband and I went here tonight on a Thursday. We’ve had an bad experience here before with poor service but we thought we would give them another chance. We were served our drinks immediately but no one came to take our order, even though they were not busy. Thirty minutes later I went to the hostess stand to ask if anyone was assigned to our table. The hostess said she would let her know we are waiting. Server never came. The very nice hostess took our order and brought us water. Server did very little. My medium rare bison was dry and gray, steak sandwich is pretty good and from a previous visit, toasted ravs are watery, fried fish is very good. To summarize, service is ridiculously poor, food is hit or miss.

I know it’s St. Pat’s day, but the service sucked and corned beef was cold. Now I remember why I don’t come here. At least the beer was cold.

I’ve been sitting here for over 30min without even being acknowledged. Cannot rate the service or food since I am apparently invisible!!!

Great food with really bad service. It’s such a shame, because I enjoy the ambience and food, Great light from the windows, newly remodeled, tasty food from the kitchen BUT The service is slow and disorganized. I literally watched the manager walk around in circles, ineffective and confused. Only come here to eat if you have time and patience.

Dulaney’s is by far our most favorite place to eat, so we frequent it often. There isn’t anything on the menu I’ve eaten and not liked and I’ve had it all. Their Italian Salad is my usual go to, but they Turkey Burger is amazing as well as their wings. They recently expanded and updated the dining room and it’s much nicer inside, although we liked it the old way too. The people are always great, service is fast and the alcohol prices aren’t too bad. Good place to watch sporting events!

Best bar in South county– hands down!
Tons of tvs and a very diverse menu make this a great spot for anyone. Helpful and friendly staff, this place really is a solid place to watch the game or meet with friends.

Great place for lunch or a couple of drinks. Love the outside seating. The ribeye sandwich is awesome and the beer is always cold. Waiting staff is also very friendly and casual.
Clean place in the inside also.
Like I said this is a great place.

Okay spot to grab a drink, they do have a nice patio that’s covered with overhead heaters when it’s cold. Haven’t tried their food, but the staff is nice and customers seem to like being there.

Amaxing food! Almost everything is homeade. Toastrd canneloni and toasted ravioli come straght from the hill! The service is wonderful of the staff works together to give their customers the best experience! Happy hour prices which also includes food and st. Louis game specials are ridiculously cheap. This is an outstanding place for family get togethers or just to meet a friend for happy hour. Major plus is the place is very clean. The bathrooms are also very nice and clean!

I’m a self pro-​claimed food critic, that being said, went to Dulaney’s today for the first time. Not impressed @ all. I had a turkey burger, no flavor @ all, in a word BLAH! I got chips as a side they were soggy. First and last time i’m eating there.

Great Happy Hour Special but only for the bar side… that just is not right and I am still trying to figure out what the point is! Trying to maintain a table list for the bar side is going to get someone hurt since folks are walking in not knowing they must give their name to the hostess and jumping ahead! Hostess is not monitoring the situation. Poor management regarding this. Food is good. Service needs improvement if they want people to return!

I’ll probably never eat in here again. I tried twice and the food was really ok both times. However, the service was awful. The first time we never got a single refill without me getting up and finding a server or hostess. The server took our order and wasn’t seen again until the check was dropped of. It wasn’t busy either. The second time I was charged for drinks that were not ordered by our party and they acted like we were lying trying to get out of paying for them. It should have been an easy fix that wasn’t a problem but the way it was handled was ridiculous and insulting. If you try it the food isn’t bad, but I hope you have better luck than I’ve had.

I think … hmmm … I think this place is what’s the word? Generic? Not sure if that’s the best word but it’s the closest I can get to what I want to relay. They try very hard to be like the larger sports bar type restaurants such as Chili’s, TGIF’s, etc., but fall very short in their efforts in regard to food and surroundings.
Inside the place is dark and unremarkable, with hard tables and booths, and little fun factor or ambiance. I utilized their carry out service, and I am happy I did for reasons stated above.
The food is just ok. I ordered a garden salad which in reality was a bag salad in a very small portion, thrown into a styrofoam container for $ 3.99. Boo. Also ordered crab cakes, which were pricey, small, and slight in portion. The flavor was ok, but I don’t believe they had 5 flakes of crab between them. In addition, I had the roast beef sandwich, which was pretty good. Not amazing but not bad.
Overall I won’t return, but at least I can say — hey, I tried it. Trying new things is good, right?

Dulany’s is one of the better places to catch the game in South County.
We showed up with a party of 9 and they seated us quite quickly and had us surrounded with tvs for the Blues games.
My husband got the world famous burger and wasn’t disappointed. I got a grilled chicken sandwich and it hit the spot. The fries were normal pub fries.
The place was clean, and the staff was very attentive and filled our drinks constantly.
