Terrible Russian bartender, rude, talks about herself a lot and doesn’t serve customers. She told us and other customers she was better then everyone because Russians are better people. On top of it she is very loud and yells at you when asking for a drink. I waited 20 min to get a drink while she fixed her old self in a mirror. I will never go their again and recommend to no one! Get better bartender. Please!

The music is too loud here. I go to many concerts and listen to lots of loud music but it’s that it actually hurts your ears sitting in this bar like the system just isn’t good enough to be played as loud as it is. The wait staff is great and the place in general is great for a dive bar. It’s also in a nice location where you don’t feel unsafe when you walk out and there’s an awesome Mexican restaurant next door! Just beware that your ears will be ringing loud when you leave here!

DONOTGOHERE! I went here on Friday evening around 10pm. There was a couple of ladies working the bar. I opened a tab with my Chase Debit Card well the bar tender gave my card to someone else and now they are purchasing things in spring valley. If you are going to this bar please pay in cash!!!

The bartenders were awesome, i’ll start there. But fair warning to anyone using a debit card to purchase their drinks… there is a glitch in their system and you will be charged twice for everything. When I called to speak to someone about reversing the charge I was given tons of attitude by a very rude woman on the phone who told me, «Chill, this happens to everyone»! Um. if it’s something that happens all of the time, get it fixed! She told me to relax and that it would reverse tomorrow maybe. I was charged the second time today and was there on Monday, that’s a little shady to me. How do I know that they are not keeping my card information? Either way, this means the funds in my account for the second charge will not be available for 3 to 5 business days, if they are actually reversed. The aftermath of my experience is enough to out weight the average dive bar demeanor and typical drinks of this place.

We’ve gone here twice for karaōke. My friend Mary goes more often as she lives here. It’s a fun, friendly place and has great karaōke. The KJ has a really good song selection and the sound system is great(a bit loud for my tastes). She runs a good, fair show. No food is served, but there are a few nearby eateries and they don’t mind if you bring in food. Hoping to come back next year! It looks divey but it’s pretty clean, even the bathrooms.

Came here on karaōke night and was accosted by the karaōke hostess who asked me if I thought she was a bitch. The bar tender ended up having security keep her away from me — more on this bartender later… Then we ended up with a mysterious karaōke special charge of five bucks on our bill. We called the bar and whoever answered said she had never heard of such a thing and gave us the owners number. We left 2 messages for the owner and never did get a call back. Sucks because we paid cash or else we would have easily disputed this on our creepy card. We feel properly screwed. Perhaps if we would have had a return call we would feel better but no. We also feel the bartender who prepares the bill had a part in this scam. Please respond to me and we can reach an understanding of what really happened.

I go to Second Wind Bar mostly for the Karaōke which is on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Leslie the Karaōke host is amazing. She has an enormous selection of music and knows her stuff as far as sound and balance. She makes every singer sound great and she really cares about what she does. The bartenders are great, very friendly and they get to know their customers. They also have cover bands on the weekends and we go there if it’s a band we really like.

My friends and I are trying to find a new place where we can drink and play pool. I found this place and read the reviews and it seemed very promising! Granted I went on a Wednesday evening at 7PM so this review may not do it justice BUT I will be back again to check out their live bands on the weekend! Overall the bartender and everyone was EXTREMELY nice and welcoming. The pool tables weren’t the greatest but they’re FREE! $ 2.50 Buds everyday?! You have won my heart Secondwind. They have a huge stage and a dance floor to compliment it. I can’t wait to get down on a Saturday night even if it is with my lonely pathetic looking self. Looking forward to giving this place another go around and I will write another review when that time comes.

A couple of us came in late one night. The bartender was friendly and the service was speedy. Drink prices were decent and it was nice and quiet. Free pool was a nice touch.

Great little venue for bands. I feel like I’m in a mini concert whenever I go. They have some great local bands that drop by.

I usually stop by here to grab a quick beer or two after work on Tuesdays. Courtney the bartender is pretty cool as she is quite talkative and will never leave you with an empty glass. They have live entertainment on Tuesdays as Kevin will take requests and literally sing and play any song on his keyboard. Pretty talented guy. Saturday night though they have live bands. Quite a show as the place is packed with bands playing original material… but most the time they are cover bands. Good times, cheap beer and a cool atmosphere.

$ 3 pints of draught beer, nothing wrong with that. You might see some folks missing teeth and/or limbs but hey, variety is the spice of life.

Unsafe. Awful experience. The boucers get drunk and fight paying guest. I even witnessed a bouncer choke and punch a pregnant woman who came to pick up guest who were leaving. The employees are violent! I’ve heard of women being raped after hours there! Stay away from this place!

Live bands on Saturday night. The drinks are affordable and my only bad experience was I got double charged on my tab. I found out why I was double charged. The bartenders told me there is a glitch in the system. It takes up to one week for the extra pending charge to clear your account. They said it varies from time to time and really don’t know why it does it… Just an fyi in case your tight on money.

So there are two different Second Winds on magnolia posted on here(not to mention a third one which exists on Navajo rd.) so i enie menie minie mowed and this one won. This place is pretty cool as far as dive bars go. I’ve only been here during the week(3 times) so I can’t speak for the weekend crowd. When I’ve been here there are usually only a handful of people at best. I personally like this cause most the time I like to sit back and drink beer without being bothered as I relax from the stresses of the day. As I said earlier, its a dive bar so don’t expect anything too nice. The place has dated stuff on the walls and some of the paneling highlights that this place is a dive, but that’s why you come here. The people were super friendly even if they looked like a cross between Toby Keith and dog the bounty hunter. The bar tenders have always been really nice and they have always given me a free beer or shot here or there. Not to mention the prices are pretty good across the board to begin with. So, with the expectations of being a dive in east county, this surpassed my expectations. I couldn’t in my right mind give it a 5th star because of small stuff like only having 6 beers on tap with 2 being bud. Some of the chairs need fixing. Some paint on some of the stuff would help without taking away from the dive aspect. To me, this place is great and I will go back lots. On a side note, the place is really big with tons of seating at the bar and at plenty of tables. There is a shuffle board game and pool tables. There is a huge dance floor and a large stage(they have live music Thursday through Saturday I believe). There is a big parking lots with plenty of spaces to park and there is a jack in the box next door that has a 24 hr. drive through for late night cravings. Cheers!
