STAY AWAY FROM SCRIBS AND THE OWNER! An absolute rip off of a place. Went in for simple machine work to install a brand new LA Sleeve in my KTM Cylinder Head. Initially quote $ 150, then it became $ 200. Anyways, he (Rob) screws up the install of my «correct» sleeve. Then makes deep nicks in the top and bottom mating surfaces of the Cylinder head. Goes out and buys another sleeve (WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION), which is a wrong one and installs in my Jug and now none of the ports match. I took pics of my sleeve before giving to Scribbs and it’s totally different than the one he buys. Then he blames it on me for him buying the wrong sleeve. Tries to charge me the full $ 200 to get my unusable parts back. I was able to get my parts back for $ 100 after arguing with him.
I now have an unusable cylinder head, I am out $ 100. I am out $ 120 for the new sleeve I initially had him install and he ruined. I’ve never seen such terrible machine work in my life and he claims it can all be cleaned up. Yeah, deep gouges on mating surfaces. Had to go on eBay to replace my cylinder head for almost $ 300. I am literally out $ 500 trying to support the local economy when I should have sent it to the pros at Los Angeles Sleeve.
I wouldn’t have taken the time to write all this review, but wanted everyone to know about my experience there. Again, Stay away from Scribs and Rob the owner.

ROB IS A JOKE!!! He should change the name of the place to SCRUB’S! Dropped off a cylinder to have it replated with Nikasil on July 16^th. Rob said he would call me within a few days to give me a total price for the cost of the replating plus a new top end and a power valve service. He never did call me back even though I followed up with four phone calls to inquire about the total cost of the parts and repairs. Every time I called he gave me some excuse as to why he could not give me a total price and I feel that giving someone the run around like that was very unprofessional. He told me that all work would be completed and parts would be ready to be picked up by August 9^th and none of it was ready until September 3^rd. He has no concept of time management and terrible communication skills.

Scribs is awesome! Most motorcycle repair shops do not to touch older/​vintage bikes and the ones that do are typically the «hipster» lames that look down on everone. I have a 1978 honda cb750 bratstyle bobber that had a horrible carb problem and no acceleration. I called around and got the big NO from most shops. But when I called Rob at Scribbs he told me to bring it on in! He got the job done over the weekend and now the bike runs «tits»! I will take all my motorcycles to Scribbs from now on. regardless of year, make, or style of bike! Scribs Rocks! And Rob did it all under my budget, by about $ 100!
