Northstar at Sky Ranch

This is a review of the club house rental.
Here is some facts you need to know. It’s $ 40 per 6 hours. No alcohol unless you can provide insurance coverage. Furniture need to be moved back, cleaning and taking out trash afterwards.
It can fit 45 people. There is a pool table, a sofa, a small refrigerator, a sink, heater and TV that you can use. I rented in summer for 6 hours with AC with the pool right outside and a bathroom. I am very happy with my experience.

My wife and I just moved in this month. We looked at places all over San Diego, and this seemed to be the perfect fit when factoring in size, amenities, schools, shopping, commute, etc. The common areas are kept very clean, the landscaping is nicely done, and the pool and toddler park are both great and both have a couple of nice gas grills. Additionally, I’ve never found the pool or park to be very crowded and have been able to grill whenever I wanted. Neighbors are all quiet and friendly.
Parking can be a real issue in some condos. I would say that this one is pretty good. I haven’t noticed a time when there wasn’t a parking spot open somewhere, but your visitors may have to walk a bit.
The view is great, although I’m sure it would be even better if not for the current drought making everything look so dry. I have an office in Bonita, and the commute in that direction is very easy as I seem to be going to opposite direction of most people in the morning and evening. For those having to use 52, I think the commute is a bit more painful.
There is also a nice clubhouse that can be rented for I believe $ 40 a day with a pool table. Haven’t used that facility yet, but I may use it for my son’s birthday party. We plan on staying here for awhile, so if anybody has any other questions about the area, feel free to message me.

My husband and I just rented a two bedroom condo here at Northstar-​Skyranch from the owners this past month. We are VERY pleased with the beautiful new condo, the views outside, the spacious parking garage and access to the pool BBQ’s and jacuzzi. We looked all around for something in our range of $ 1800/​mo and found little to nothing that was commutable to downtown and nice and clean as this lovely community. It is very quiet, yet the neighbors are so friendly. We can have our little dog here because they have a small dog park. The access to great shopping and restaurants and the freeways is amazing!

When we first drove up here we had NO idea we would be driving up a mountain! The views are spectacular! The neighbors are very friendly, neighborhood is clean and it’s quiet. I looked up the schools in the area on
as they are graded ⁸⁄₁₀ or ⁹⁄₁₀ which is not bad at all!
What i love about living here is that shopping is very close! Within a mile or two you have a walmart, target, Costco, Ross, tjmaxx, old navy, rue 21, GameStop, bed bath and beyond, michael’s, staples, dollar tree, office depot, 24 hr fitness, ymca, kinko’s, kohl’s, gtm, at&t store, petsmart, petco, party city, pier 1, home depot, lowe’s, hair salons, nail shops, a mall, several grocery stores (especially our favorite — Sprouts), several banks, farmer’s market, restaurants and everything you need. Living here makes it easy to run errands.
The only downfall is I wish it was more central? I guess 10 miles from Mission Valley, 15 miles from La Jolla and 5 miles from Clairemont Mesa isn’t too bad?

«Really» nice View!!!

My husband and I lived and rented in San Diego proper for more than 7 years! When we started to look for a home we refused to look at ‘east’ county because we had the feeling it was just too far away. However, after months of looking and just not finding anything that was within our price point ($ 400K) and/​or broken down (i.e., no short sales or places that needed a lot of work) our Realtor convinced us to look at Santee. When we visited Sky Ranch our breath was taken away — brand new homes with amazing views. We realized that the 67 freeway isn’t as far away as we thought and we can still make it to work (downtown San Diego) within 20 minutes. Once the 52 freeway is complete it will make it easier/​quicker to get north of the 8 freeway.
We moved into our home at the end of May and have been very happy.
The community is very safe, quiet and you always seem to get a nice breeze which is important for Santee. The construction was good, and we haven’t had any issues on that end. We did have some issues with the sales office but the person we worked with was let go so I think it is better now. Even if you thought Santee wasn’t for you — you need to check this place out. You might be pleasantly surprised.

My fiancé and I recently moved from Atlanta. Northstar was a wonderful find. We toured the entire San Diego area and mostly found overpriced and undersized homes.
We settled on a home at Northstar. We both work in LaJolla and find the commute quick and easy. The homes are large new construction that we were used to having in Atlanta. We have beautiful views of the canyon and a great pool. I could buy a mansion in Atlanta for the price of a shack in LaJolla. We have it all now. A great new home, beautiful views and quick commute. Love it.

Ok the sales person was relatively attractive, even if he was married.
The slightly used Audi he used to show us the units under construction was nice, even with the charming baby seat in the back.
However, the car smelled like baby vomit or baby wipes. Now I know we all have families and we have to do what we have to do, but if you are the salesperson and using your car for business, could you at least Febreeze it once in a while?
Otherwise, the sales agent was great. Cordial, full of information, and even offering of free water refreshment.
Too bad his development looked like apartments more than condos.
A solid 4 reduced to a 3 because of the baby smell I was stuck with in the back seat.
