iSquad Repair

Replaced a shattered iPhone screen here. The repair is fine, screen is holding up. Home button now spins in place for some reason, but we’re only keeping this phone for another 6 months, so I don’t care. Repair was good (not perfect).
The reason I’m taking off more stars is because this is my second visit here. I first came on a Saturday. They open at 10 (so says their website and hours on the door). I came right at 10, noone inside, door was locked. Another gentleman was there already. We both waited, by the time I had to leave (a full 30 minutes later!) a line of 5 people had formed to get in. The business was still not open, employee was a no-​show. There was no note on the door that they’d stay closed for a family emergency, nothing. They just didn’t open that morning.

I brought my phone in 2 days ago to fix the LCD on my iPhone 5 after knocking it into the toilet the night before. The LCD had some crazy pixelating issues and since I use my phone to work I needed it fixed immediately (otherwise I would have waited to see if it fixed itself)
The guy who was there was named Mike I believe and he was very friendly. He gave me a military discount and knocked off an extra $ 10. It was now $ 79 to replace the LCD.
I give this place 3 stars not because of service but because my new LCD screen has a few glitches that I noticed when I got home. They aren’t a big enough deal that I want my phone taken apart again, but I expect a quality product if I am to pay $ 79 for a phone repair service. Oh well.

After ordering and replacing my son’s ipad mini screen on amazon for $ 21 and roughly 30 minutes I decided to write about my family’s experience with this place.
My son broken the screen on his ipad last year. We took it in to have the screen replaced. For $ 130 they replaced the screen and said the screen had a lifetime warranty against defect and anything except cracking. Fair enough. We got it back and it worked for about 2 days. The screen had really bad ghosting and the home button didn’t work. We took it back and they replaced it at no charge. A few weeks later the screen started to come up from case as the adhesive was bad. Brought it back a 2^nd time, 3^rd screen and it worked intermittently and eventually the home screen button started to become loose. His case wasn’t working with the new screen and consequently broke the screen. They told us this time it wasn’t covered under warranty because the screen had broken it was only covered from ghosting and defects. My son lived with the cracked screen until the screen just stopped working completely. Nothing could be done and iPad was a paperweight. I ordered a screen from amazon and had it within the week. I’m pretty handy and felt pretty comfortable replacing the screen. Watched a video on you tube and we started. Here’s where I get super pissed. There are 4 screws that hold in the touch screen behind the glass. 1 screw was missing. Not a big deal really… until we removed that and the shield that protects the motherboard and battery needed to be removed. There should be 16 screws holding that shield on. There were only 2. That’s right 14 screws that protect the motherboard and battery were missing. That is completely unacceptable. The fact that the screen had to be replaced 3 times and still didn’t work was bad enough but when we took apart the iPad and there were screws missing I was pissed. So now it’s been 2 weeks and my son’s ipad works fantastic and the case works as well without a hitch. When you spend $ 130 on something you would expect a decent product. Not only did they use crappy screens the quality of work was atrocious.

This place is legit! I called and got a quote on a repair for my iPhone 6 Plus and came in the next day and they honored the price quoted. The guy was there all alone working and was swamped and still managed to have my phone done in a little less then 2 hours. He was polite and very professional. I will definitely come here and recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a repair spot.

The sleep/​wake button on my iPhone 4 stopped working. I saw the iSquad Repair store on my way to the Home Depot store in Santee and decided to find out how much it would cost to get the button repaired. Instead of quoting a price, the gentleman simply showed me the workaround AT NO CHARGE. He informed me that his family operate three stores and that he has no reason to charge for every single problem his customers have. It is good to know that not all businessmen are all about $$$$$.

Let’s start with service ehh ok
I first walked in to fix my shatter screen $ 80. few days later I drop in the toilet. So I came back they charged me $ 170 for led screen bc of water damage ok. He then only had a black iPhone screen (I had a white iPhone6) put it on and told me to come back next week we’ll swap it back ok deal. Come back week later he changed it to white cover come to find out there’s a scrap on the top left and that’s the last white cover he had left told me to come swing by anytime to swap that out if it bugs me. As for me I’m whatever I dont mind little stuff like that. Anyways I was gonna keep phone as is. Few days later my screen started to pop out. Likes the whole SCREEN! I was frustrated came back was a bit pissed he then told me it’s wrong cheap item from China it’s a RECALL in my head that’s BS! He told me he was out of white screen that’s some more BS! Told me to come back again! He then SUPER GLUE my screen together!?! Umm ok. a month later I was force to come back bc the screen pop out literally screen was hanging for dear life. I walked in the owner that I dealt with this who time didn’t acknowledge me at all, like he was in guilt ! Some younger guy took care of me! I didn’t want to make a big deal I just wanted my phone fix and get the F*** out of there and never return, even if the screen pop out again! I’m so over it! I feel this place is a total SCAM! They glue there parts together! NEVER will I return! I would give this place a NEGATIVE!

Wish I could leave a no star. Took these guys 3 times in 2 weeks to get a simple screen replaced and set. Cheap parts and horrible customer service. Santee location. After being very displeased with their service and talked to the manager his words you don’t like my service F off. I’ll probably be back in their next week to fix my phone again. Refund I squad??? Or just poor installation and get mad when your confronted about it! Quit screwing people over.

These guys are amazing. Got my phone repaired the same day. Reasonable in price. Not only that they gave me a free glass screen cover because mine accidentally got thrown away. Because I had a warranty on the one I originally had that got broken. I highly recommend them! If I ever break my screen again I know where I am going.

These guys were great. They repaired my phone after hours and delivered to my home at 9 o’clock at night. I couldn’t be happier!

Very happy with screen replacement of my iphones. Michael from Miramar store who happend to be in El Cajon store that day, was very polite and helpful. There was a minor issue with the home bottom which they fixed for free the next day. Overal very happy with the service!

I dropped off my iPad Tuesday evening at 6pm and it was ready for pickup on Thursday. The screen looks great, as good as new!!! They did accidentally cut the wire for my volume buttons, but they replaced it and so far it seems to work fine. The fixed iPad screen comes with a lifetime warranty too! They have my name and iPad in their system so I don’t even have to save my receipt. They said just bring it in and they will replace it :)
Their customer service is excellent! I like that they are not pushy and are okay with answering lots of questions. Mark and Ray were especially friendly and helpful. Also, I like that this is a family business!
Since they also fix Samsung Galaxy S4 screens I will be coming back! :)

I went in here with mixed expectations. Their Unilocal reviews are quite varied. The Unilocalers were right though, as I experienced moments of brilliance from them and also moments of despair.
Let me start by saying that the customer service is ideal… when you have their full attention. If another customer is in the store or the other phone line is ringing, misinformation and errors started occurring.
As for quality of work, one guy seemed to know how to do simple repairs and another guy seemed to know a whole lot more. Bottom line, don’t expect this place to work miracles. If you have a run of the mill cracked screen or whatever, you’ll be good. Something tragic like water damage, don’t get your hopes up.

Stay away from this place! They quote a price over the phone and when you walk in to your appointment they give you a higher price! I had my S5 Galaxy phone charge port replaced. A few months later I dropped my phone and my screen broke, so I took it somewhere else and when the tech guy was removing the screen they realized the screen had been glued with Krazy glue and not the Galaxy adhesive that should have been used. Removing the screen with Krazy glue caused the home key to break and lost some of the display functions. They are a disaster stay away from this place!!!

These guys are great when you break your iPhone screen and don’t have insurance. They charge about $ 80 to replace the entire screen and offer a warranty on their work.
I had dropped my iPhone from the second story of my condo onto the pavement downstairs. I had a cheap plastic (more decorative than anything) case on it, which flew off upon impact.
I contemplated switching to another carrier who paid off my remaining cell phone plan, but thought I would try this repair shop first. I had heard good things about them from the cell phone sales guy at Costco.
In any case, my screen was replaced and it seemed fine after the fact, but I quickly noticed that it was «ghosting» (pressing buttons and scrolling when I wasn’t even touching the touch screen). I called them and they told me to just bring it back and they would fix it, so I did. Less than 30 minutes later, my iPhone 5s had a brand new screen (they had to replace it again since the defect was with the screen they had initially put on) and thus far, my phone is as good as new again.
I totally recommend these guys at iSquad (Santee) when you are in a bind and your iPhone screen is shattered to bits.

Took my nephew here for a new screen for his iPhone 5C– white. I called a few weeks prior to get a quote, and it was for $ 79.99. We didn’t get it fixed until it was closer to his birthday. His screen was terrible, cracked the same way I cracked mine months before — fell off the freezer in the garage, we vow to never put our phones there ever again. We used the Unilocal check-​in for $ 10 off which was good. Unfortunately, my nephew’s home button was missing, they were able to replace that for an additional $ 10…WHY RYAN (nephew’s name)!?! — haha there goes the $ 10 check in deal, cancelled out. He said it would take about 45 minutes, but it really only took 30! This team is amazing… they are quick, they are accurate and they are kind. My nephew took off his phone case for them, and the back of it was DISGUSTING — it had dirt, pen marks. and they cleaned it off for us! They even said the ribbon cable was missing from the phone and they replaced it for free, but it was really worth $ 20. I appreciate all their hard work! I will definitely go here for all my iPhone screen needs, although i hope i don’t need to! I’ve been the Mira Mesa location and they are just as great!
