Dave Campbell’s BMW Motorcycle Service of San Diego

Dave Campbell has a lot knowledge about BMW motorcycles. I took two different bmw for tune up and more serious repairs to his shop. I was very please with his honesty and advice. The motorcycles run perfect!
I would definitely recommend DCMW shop for anyone that owns a BMW bike.
Did I mention that he works in a timely manner?

I found Dave through my friend who just sold me his R1150GS. Dave has been servicing this bike for years and has provided me with a complete repair history and happily took care of the maintenance work I needed done.

I have an R1150R and religiously take my bike to dave for service and the few repairs needed. Dave’s prices are competitive and he is the be all and end all of BMW knowledge in SD county. Dave has never tried to up-​sell me on any un-​needed services or repairs. He has been a straight shooter when it comes to service needed and repairs.

Bike went in for its annual oil change and service… picked up the bike and it rides better than new. Clutch and brakes adjusted. Fresh set of tires. Not the cheapest in town but quality work never is.

Dave is the go-​to guy in San Diego for BMWs. I’ve taken my R1200RT and my R100/​7 to him and I’ll take my bikes to him for service whenever I can’t do it myself. We never did solve a transmission problem in that slash-​7, but the detailed info I got from Dave regarding this apparently mystifying airhead issue was 100% worth the time and effort. Excellent value for the expertise you’re getting here. There’s a reason his shop is constantly full of bikes and CHP bikes are always on the rack.

I have had Dave do work on a couple of my bikes include a full Dyno tune. His work is excellent. Prices are about in line with what a dealer charges but with Dave you get the personal service and the confidence that the job is being done right. I have never left unhappy with work performed in Dave’s shop.

have to concur with others. Dave worked on all of my beemers, from my R100s to my F650 and all the K11 and R11 in between. Steered me right on my own R69S resto.

While I’ll always take my R1200RT to a dealer when it comes to warranty work, I’m not going to even entertain taking it there when it comes to basic service work. Dave Campbell runs a top notch shop and is always fair and honest with his prices. Speaking of which, for doing the exact same work that the dealer does, you’ll come out hundreds of dollars ahead by going to DCMW. I wouldn’t waste my time writing this if I didn’t feel it was 100% true and worth it.
Folks, if you have a BMW twin, don’t let the local dealers scare you into thinking that Dave doesn’t do the exact same work they do. He does. But for far less money. Do yourself a favor and make the trip to Santee.

Just worked on my 1974 90s. Fixed the transmission, and clutch. Did a great job at a fair price, finished when he said. Also did some extra stuff. Best in town

In addition to my wife, I have a mistress. She’s black, sleek and all kinds of sexy. When she’s good, shes really good. When she’s bad, shes temperamental, dangerous and expensive.
She’s a 1970 BMW ⁷⁵⁄₅ café racer. Her name is «The Widowmaker».
Now, I would rate my skills in motorcycle maintenance at «intermediate». That might even be pushing it. I enjoy working on the Widowmaker, but there is some stuff that is just over my head.
I’ve had this bike worked on by three different shops in three different cities, and the only guy to really «get her» with all of her modifications and idiosyncrasies is Dave Campbell at DCMW.
Seriously, for the first time in years, this particular bike can be considered a «daily driver».
He threw a dyna ignition on it, dialed in my shitty mikuni carbs, and did some other stuff… and shes running better now than she has in years. There are not many guys left that can work on these old Beemers, but not only is he highly skilled… hes friendly, patient, and explains everything as he goes.
It wasn’t cheap, it wasn’t quick, but it was quality.
btw– DCMW specializes in ALL BMW motorcycles… not just old buckets like mine. Stay away from the dealers… czech out DCMW in scenic Santee.
