Great value on yugioh packs of a wide variety, 15 $ tins (you’ll never find them cheaper anywhere else), and they have older special editions. However some days you need to plan according to thier hours. Best visited on a weekday since its quieter than weekends.

The ultimate card shop! Don’t have any luck picking packs or boxes? Have Michelle pick it for you… so far she has selected 2 Bryce Harper autos, a George Springer auto and Jose Abreu auto… plus she seems to at least pull an auto or relic, which is more than I ever did.
Doesn’t matter what sport you’re looking for, they have packs and boxes for you.

I’ve been collecting sports cards over 20 years and I had no idea this shop existed here in San Diego. You must check it out it will blow you away Mitchell is very nice and helpful. This shop is a must for all collectors

It seems I go through a card collecting phase every few years… and each time I have to find some place new to get my fix.
When I was really young it was Bases Loaded, after that it was San Diego Sports Collectibles in the Parkway Plaza mall. Then it was CJ’s sports cards. All of those places eventually closed down… so now my new place to go is ALL STAR CARDS! Wow, do they have alot of cool stuff in this place!
If sports cards and collectibles are your thing, they’ve got a big supply of baseball, football, basketball, hockey, and even golf, soccer, and MMA cards to satisfy you, plus a ton of related memorabilia and other collectibles for each sport.
If you’re into MAGIC and those other non sport card games, they’ve got you covered there too.
Prices are very reasonable. If you’ve only got a few bucks to spend, there’s box for each sport with tons of $ 1 packs, and even some that are 2 or 3 for $ 1. If you’re a big spender, they’ve got mid priced and high priced packs, all the way up to the fancy boxes that cost $ 400 to $ 500! And they’ve also got plenty of other things on the less expensive end, it really just depends on what kind of collector you are.
The owner, Jerry, and his daughter Michelle know their stuff. I’ve seen many customers come in and talks sports with them, and also spit talk about the collecting hobby itself.
I’ve been very impressed with this store so far, and I’ll keep coming back here for a long time hopefully!

I love shopping here! Been coming to this store since I was 7 for pokemon card, then yugioh, and now magic. Their prices are way better than target or walmart plus you’re supporting a small business! All of their prices already include tax so as long as you can do basic math your are good. They are also super friendly and helpful, they will spend as much time with you that you need to make sure that you are satisfied. When you buy packs they will let you choose which ones right from the box even if you want to dig to the bottom. I got here for all my card needs and it’s always nice to catch up with them as you’re shopping. If you could give more than 5 stars I would!

I had heard about this place on a few hobby forums, and all the great reviews were spot on! Great store, great selection, and even better customer service! My son and I collect football only, and they had anything and everything you could possibly want! Jerry and his daughter were great, and the prices were more than fair! We ended up buying a few football hobby boxes (which we did GREAT with), and some supplies. This is our new store to do business with! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you are a sports card collector!

I was refereed here by a friend. Very friendly staff and directed my kids to a card shop where they could sell cards.

Stumbled onto this place by accident when I was driving by and saw the Baseball Cards sign. You can’t really see it from the main road and it looks almost boarded up/​closed.
Went in and was really happy to find a HUGE selection of Magic the Gathering cards. They also have tons of baseball cards, football, pokemon old, new, you name it. I was very impressed the prices were not the usual «gouge» prices that I would expect to find in a shop like this. Fat Packs were essentially the same as buying from Amazon, without the shipping.
Jerry chatted with me for a while about cards and seemed to genuinely love what he does!
I can see I will be throwing a lot of money into this shop!

Awesome shop, Jerry and Michelle are great at customer service, and they have a varied selection of cards. I mostly go there for the magic cards. I go here and to Crazy Fred’s the most. I don’t know about their sports cards, since I don’t collect them, but they do have some very cool signed cards.
For their magic cards, you do have to riffle through big bulk boxes, but it is worth it! You’ll often find cards at 50% off regular price or more. I once found a 70 dollar card and told him it was mispriced (He had it marked at 15), and he just wanted to make sure his customers got good deals so he kept it at 15. It does make me sad when people brag about ripping him off though.
Their prices are awesome as well. Sometimes it seems like they genuinely don’t care about making money. Such a great «ma and pop» type shop.

This place is great. I buy Magic cards from here, but they have tons of sports and other items. Family owned and operated and always have locals hanging out. Great prices and they know there sports. Worth stopping by and getting to know.

Excellent shop. I’ve been patronizing All Star since I was a kid. They have always been helpful to me through the years. They are the prototype for mom and pop shops (father & daughter actually), because they will chat you up, learn your name and recognize you when you come back. It’s consistent, familial, and I genuinely look forward to going there. I don’t think there is a better review than that so go buy some cards already :)

By far the best card shop in San Diego! One of those old school shops where you become like family after a few visits. Jerry the owner tries to act like a grumpy old man at times but he can only sustain that so long before you realize he is just messing with you. His prices are tough to beat unless you have access to the distributors yourself.
Then there is his daughter Michelle which is where the true customer service comes from. She is a sweetheart but yet one of the guys. If you have a request she does her best to try and fulfill it.
One of the most important things about the shop though is the integrity. They don’t let the customer handle the packs directly which prevents searchers from finding the hits. Also, if they know some of the big hits have already been found from an open box, they usually open another box and mix in the product to give the person a shot at something good as well.

I like coming to this place to get magic cards. They have the lowest price on booster packs in San Diego that i can find. Tax is included in the price, so be nice and pay cash!

I was in San Diego for the weekend and I got the itch for some Hockey wax. I read an article online about Jerry’s shop and I just had to pay them a visit. The first thing you’ll notice when you walk in is the amount of dated product however that was not the focus of my visit. The selection of hockey product is limited, but that is a byproduct of the region. I found the selection of current prodcts adequate. After spending 20 minutes rummaging through the Hockey single box, I decided to buy a box of 11 – 12 Panini Titanium Hockey. I took the time to open the box at his breaking table and was kind enough to sit down and watch me crack the box. The first pack I opened contained a case hit rookie of Brayden McNabb /​81. I also opened a Hurricanes hat tricks jersey, a Spezza prime jersey and a Carl Gunnarsson New Wave autograph.
All said, Jerry was very friendly and hospitable. I plan on making this a spot to visit every time I’m in town.

I’ve forked over, doled out, emptied more money into this hobby store than I can count. This place has APR on my soul I pay so often. Back in the peak of my spending days I would dish out hundreds of dollars on packs of cards. I love Jerry, the owner of the place, because he always sighs, rolls his eyes, feels bad for me whenever I eviscerate a pack of cards and have a ninth string QB be the best player I pull.
Me: This is like the tenth time I’ve pulled a Chris Gomez card in three packs of 2012 Topps. How is this possible?! He hasn’t even played in a dozen years!
Jerry: Stop buying packs of cards. You have terrible luck.
Me: I HATE YOUR LOGIC. THANK YOU FOR CARING AND YOU’RE RIGHT.
All Star cards always has a full house on my wallet. I lose every time. Whenever that cash register rolls open the sound reminds me of a boulder chasing after me. Also, Jerry and family are always nice enough to special order items for you, do price checks on your dented Jamarcus Russell rookie card, or simply give you a hard time for not knowing when to stop buying boxes and get the hell out of their store. A+

Theres only a handful of sports cards stores in sd area, and all of them have great service and reasonable prices. That being said this place is on the top of my list. It’s gotta be the biggest store in sd, they have lots of selection. They don’t have that much memorabilia (check out CJ’S in poway), but they have a great selection of hobby boxes. They even carry pokemon or whatever those cards are; if thats what youre in to. The father and daughter that work there are really nice and friendly. I always get a discount when I pay for my stuff. For me this place is worth the drive from south bay.

I just started collecting baseball cards a couple of months ago. So, I really have no clue, to say the least, when it comes to saving and what to look for.
I found the staff to be ultra nice and very helpful. At the time, I was looking for something I didn’t need. They politely directed me to the product that I needed. Being cheaper than the original product.
I was in a hurry that day so I really didn’t get to scour the store to my liking. But at first glance, it seems as if they had enough in the way of card collecting for everybody.
I will be back and they have my business.

I have a super addictive personality and when I want something, I get it for the most part. My new addiction… well its an old one but it has resurfaced lately… is collecting baseball cards. The thrill of opening a pack of cards is awesome!
All Star Cards is the only card shop I know of in East County. Its located in a little strip mall sort of off Cuymaca and Buena Vista. Same shopping plaza as a locksmith and Emmas Mexican Food (very good by the way).
The people that work there are super friendly and it has a neighborhood feel. They have infinite ammounts of cards for sale as well as storage holders etc. If you need any hard to find packs, odds are they probably have them. The prices are really reasonable for todays times. Collecting cards has become freaking expensive as a mofo!!! Whatever happened to the 50 cent packs? Nowdays they are anywhere from a dollar up to 100 bucks a pack! It has to do with alot more autographed cards and game worn jerseys etc but still… it can make a man go broke to get «the good stuff».
Baseball card shops are like drive in theaters… rare… and about to become extinct unless people utilize them alot more and keep them in business. All Star Cards is a great store and is definitely worth checking out and patronizing if you are in the need for some sports cards.
