Established in 1984.

Uptown Optometry was started in 1984 By Dr. Dennis Kennedy. Dr. Michele Hayes purchased the practice and has been the owner/​doctor since 2007. The practice was located on E street until 2010, when it was moved to 85 Brookwood Avenue Suite 12 (3rd and Brookwood) for better free parking, and a more open floorplan.

Having relocated to Santa Rosa, I was worried about finding a good spot but I did! Staff is amazing, so helpful and knowledgeable! The doc really takes care of you and makes sure to fit you with the contacts best suited for your eyes. Oh, they Are always receiving new shipments of awesome frames!!! Love this place!

I really love this place. I live in Rohnert Park and it’s worth it to me to drive down to this office. I’m not very good with eye drops since when most doctors put them in, I have to look straight up which makes me very uncomfortable. I discussed this with Dr. Hayes and she was very understanding. She even got me in on an emergency basis when I had a contact lens split in half while in my eye and half of it got stuck under my eyelid (it’s as painful as it sounds).

Omg! Stay away.
I went for an eye exam and had asks if I was obligated to get my glasses there. They said no and once I was finished with the exam I told the doctor, oh I just need the prescription I will be getting my frames somewhere else. All of a sudden she decided to be completely rude to me. It made me feel so uncomfortable. They should be happy I choose to get my exam there out of all of the places I could go to. I was disgusted in the way I was treated after politely letting them know I wasn’t going to get my frames there. Also if they had a bigger selection of frames maybe I wouldn’t want to take my business elsewhere. Just a thought. Would not recommend.

I just had a great 1st appointment here! The receptionist was super nice and helped me pick out some really stylish frames, the selection was awesome. The optometrist was incredibly friendly and professional and was very thorough with the exam. I will definitely be back and would reccomend Uptown Optometry to all my friends!

I have been going to Uptown Optometry for the last 2 years. I Love their selection of frames, prices, wonderful and helpful customer service, and the of course the Doctor. I feel that all my questions get answered and the staff really listens to my thoughts and needs. I would highly recommend Uptown to all my friends and family.
