The Barber Shop

We were recommended this place by a friend of ours who got his hair cut hair, because its a woman «barber» who works here. My wife has a very short, basically mens haircut. A mohawk.
Tired of clipping it ourselves at home, or getting charged salon prices, but nervous about going to a barber because of her not wishing to be discriminated against in a typical barbershop atmosphere, we figured a ladybarber would be a good place to start.
Upon arriving she was told «uhm, I don’t usually cut womens hair in here because men don’t like to see women in here. It makes them uncomfortable».
Okay. Your a woman.
So, at this point she figures she’s not getting a hair cut but the woman pulls the cape around and says but «i guess ill see what i can do».
While cutting her hair hair, she informed her she would have to charge her the womans hair cut price, which is not listed in the shop.
Did you know it’s actually ILLEGAL to charge a womens and mens hair cut price? Its a hair cut price and LONG HAIR EXTRA.
So she charged her $ 30 for a $ 19 cut, which wasn’t even very good, and she didn’t even bother to clean up the neck.
Then spent almost twice as long on our male friends hair and charged him $ 19.

Jayne has cut my hair for years, starting on Montgomery and now here. I do not go often enough but she always remembers me and does a great job. I followed her across town and will not go anywhere else.
