Disappointed at the workmanship that Sunshine Pools did for us in Calistoga.
The worker came out to fill in deck cracks around the perimeter of the pool. The quality of work was average and he left a mess behind. Most importantly, there is sand all over the pool and the deck as the result of his work. While this may be part of the process, I’m so disappointed at how dirty he left everything and that we now have a pool with sand in it.
Additionally, there was caulk/​filler on our patio table that was just left there in a blob that he didn’t clean up. Now the teak table has a gray blob stain on it, I don’t appreciate him using our furniture for his tools and ruining them. I felt he did not respect the customer’s property.
He left his knee pads on the fence after leaving — not a big deal but just continues to show a lack of attention. The guy tried to sell us a hot tub when he arrived to do the work which may be what they do best but I would not go there as a result of my service experience.
I would not recommend Sunshine Pool & Spa for service. The charge was $ 1200 and asked to be paid via credit card before finishing the job. I’m still sweeping up sand on the deck and it just keeps blowing into the pool. We can’t sit on the perimeter of the pool without being covered in sand. Terribly disappointed at the price we paid and the quality of work received.

These guys discovered they had over billed me and sent me a check to square the account. I found that worth 4 stars so I recommend them for all your needs

Recently had pool pump and pool filter replaced by this company. The job was done in a speedy and efficient manner. Great company. They have a customer for life.

The service person just made a mess of my pool. Expensive and disappointing. Sure, it’s an older pool, but you don’t backwash the minerals from the filter into the pool!!! I complained and was given «We’ll fix it,» but they didn’t. My pump timer was deliberately left to run all day after I «fired» them and I got a $ 200 increase in my PG&E bill, thank you very much.

Bought a Cal Spa (our second. First one in Southern California) from George and the staff and could not be happier. They looked into our requests, answered all questions and delivered the spa on time and at the price we agreed upon. We had one small problem — a Cal Spa problem, not Sunshine’s — and they were on the job right away and used an innovative solution to make us completely satisfied. I was in the spa business for many years and know the ins and outs of the business; I’m not an «easy» customer. But Sunshine handled everything with complete professionalism and courtesy. We absolutely recommend Sunshine for experienced and «newbies» alike. Trust them and they’ll earn your trust and business.

I recently started going here for my pool needs. I really like them; they have been very helpful and are very friendly. Will be «my pool store» from now on. Kelly and Ernie seem very knowledgeable and professional.

I bought my hot tub from this dealer at the county fair. I apparently had some «misunderstandings» about delivery charges. I found out I had to pay the delivery guy the night before the morning delivery was scheduled and was informed of the cost for this for the first time. Had to write a check on the spot to the delivery guy personally (no credit cards) and it was unexpected and not cheap. Tub installation is not included so you need an electrician to install the required power and connect the tub to the power. I knew this already and was not an issue. Tub works great. I was surprised that there is no insulation inside the frame (skirt/​surround) which holds the hoses, pump, heater, electronics and the tub shell. I was told by the sales rep the night we spoke about the impending delivery that he would call me after the tub was delivered Wednesday. It’s Monday night. The tub cover lifter was not included in the delivery, nor were the pillows promised. Don’t ya know the cover lifter was not listed on the sales order. I bought a great one on Craigslist for $ 40. The lifter is important because horsing around with the cover is a major pain and also hard on the cover as well as getting it dirty trying to push it over the side of the tub and on the ground/​deck.
My point is: the hot tub is really nice, has a good warranty. I feel hustled and jived, I wanted to buy the tub, so be forthcoming and take care of me.
To the new would be owners out there: make sure you find a dealer near your home and discuss and write down any delivery agreements on the sales agreement. Take the time to read the fine print on the back of the sales agreement. You have to inspect the tub after it has been delivered or any damage is on you. There’s more there.
The Cal Spa is a good tub. Keeping the water hot and in economy mode is working well. I do recommend the tub for sure.
