Business Owner

Lo Z. is a woman who has managed and operated Smog Frog since 2005. Now with two Star Certified Stations in Santa Rosa and in Rohnert Park. She is a licensed smog technician and a graduate of 700 Automotive School in Richmond, CA. She is known to be the Fastest smog tech in the West and when she’s not on the job, she enjoys dancing, singing karaōke as one half of the Sparkles Sistas, and spending time with her Chihuahua Lola and her orange tabby Skittles McLavender Currypurry.

I made an appointment, as I had arrived an hour earlier than I had expected to be. They were very nice, and took me in right away. I did not pass the first time. The second time I came back, they only charged me a fraction of the fee to re-​test, and I passed.
Very nice, very friendly, will go back for my husband and children’s cars too!

I used a Groupon deal for my smog check but from what I understand they also have discounted rate on their website. This was a great experience, it didn’t take very long and my car passed so I’m very happy. You should check it out when you need to get your car a smog check.

I called to schedule an appointment for a Saturday morning. The technician had my Tacoma in and out in 10 minutes. Very friendly, very knowledgable. This is my new smog shop. This is definitely the place to go. And a great price.

Coming from New York, I’m all like, «smog test? Wat is this? I don’t even.» I’m registering my vehicle at the DMV and they require a smog test. So I searched Unilocal and came across Smog Frog, which had great reviews. Called to make the smog appointment then arrived ten minutes early. I was out in ten smog minutes and the gentleman kindly allowed me to use a smog coupon that had expired the day before. Now I’m all like, «welcome to California, me.»

We had two cars have their smog tests here. The technician was friendly, courteous and professional. I used a coupon for the first car and they let us use a coupon for the second car as well. Which was great for us. There was no waiting, one car had to be Star Certified and that took just a little longer. The second car was a regular smog and it was done in fifteen minutes. Easiest smog checks I have ever had done, great service!

Fast and good rates. Took my car there for a smog test and waited no longer then 10 minutes. I like that they don’t mess with the car seat so when I get back in it’s still the same adjustment that I had before. One time at a different ship they messed with my seat and it was a little annoying.

I went in for my smog check and went to the other Yolanda Ave in Santa Rosa so I missed my appointment. However, I made another appointment easily as the guy answered when I called. On my second appointment. I went to the front of the building and opened the door but there was no one in sight. I then called the office to find out if I was in the right spot or not. Martin answered my call and said I had to drive to the back of the building. When I found it, the Smog technician greeted me and told me to park my car nearby. I went in the waiting room to wait for the smog check to be preformed. I was able to see the entire smog check. I was happy about that as I curious as to see what the smog entailed. After he was done which was 15 min later he told me that my car easily passed the smog check. He also gave me a $ 30 Off discount which was an online website coupon being offered that I was not aware about. Luckily, I found this place because it is an honest place. I would recommend this business for their professionalism, attention to detail and great service!

I initially made an appointment, showed up on time and was told I had to wait my turn. I then posted a frustrated review. The owner contacted me, apologized for the poor service, and told me the person had been dealt with. I did appreciate the owner reaching out.

This place was easy to find, first of all.
I called this morning and asked if I could bring in my car today, and if I did, how long it would take. They said it’s first come, first serve, and that it takes about thirty minutes.
When I got there, the guy was very friendly without a salesman attitude. I filled out literally ten seconds of paperwork and waited ten minutes while he finished a car in front of me.
They had a waiting room with couches and magazines. Less than a half hour later, it was done. I paid for it quickly, signed, he went over the details of my certificate, and I was on my way.
SO EASY!
The only downside was that it was a little more expensive than other places… But it was worth it.

So apparently even Bullwinkle needs to get his car smogged. I opted for this place over a couple cheaper options due to the good reviews here on Unilocal and I was not disappointed. I called that morning and made an appointment for within the hour.
Speaking of time, literally: 15 minutes. That’s how long the whole process took from me driving me car up onto the platform to getting back in and driving away. Ridiculously fast. But this speed might also explain the torrents of sweat which poured from the rather large guy’s face as he ran about performing the tests and, at the same time, helping some other guy in the parking lot with his truck. He may have been big and sweaty, but he was no nonsense and pretty cool. There’s a waiting room with a television, couches and magazines while you wait but I found it far more entertaining to watch this guy work and talk about why my quarter panel was wrecked, etc…
It cost $ 65 flat out the door to smog my 2000 Honda Civic. It passed. I drove away a happy customer. You can get your car smogged for less (I found some in the $ 40 range) but there are reviews of scams, etc… for those places. Bullwinkle does not like scams and there was no scam here.
If you need a smog and you need it fast, go here. I’d still call ahead and make a reservation though.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, Unilocal!I ended up here after the first place I tried was closed on Saturday. The lady that helped behind the counter was very friendly and provided a coupon for $ 10 off regular price. Also, according to the website, the company was started by a «local young woman» in the automotive industry — how cool. They have earned themselves a repeat customer.

Walked right in, was greeted by a nice lady behind the window. She had me give her my registration, she went over the cost (super cheap, esp with the coupon from their website!), and had me pull my car up.
The smog test took about 15 minutes. They gave me my certificate. I paid. Done.
Nice service, quick service, comfortable waiting area and they didn’t try to rip me off. I will recommend them to anybody who needs a smog test!
(and the frogs all over are really cute, too)
