I love Santa Rosa Community Acupuncture. I’ve been going for over 5 years primarily with Viola Huang Beck. We are focusing now on a chronic back problem and the results are more than I ever thought possible… amazing actually. It has also helped when I have had a virus or cold (I find I’m not sick as long), headache and especially when I am stressed. They treat for many, many conditions.
Viola’s background and training are extensive and she comes from a long line of acupuncturists. I believe her uncle still practices in China.
Viola is a great listener and top notch practitioner who goes out of her way to help you. She is so generous with sharing any information about anything that she feels will help you.
The sliding scale of $ 20-​$ 40 is so reasonable. There is one room that holds about 12 incredibly
comfortable recliners. As soon as you enter there is a feeling of peace and tranquility. The website will tell you everything else to expect, and I can tell you that treatments are very effective for so many ailments and general health. I always tend to fall into a deep state of relaxation or sleep when the needles are in me.
I appreciate the healthy tea bags and hot water they provide. It’s lovely after a treatment if one has time.

Excellent, compassionate service. I found out about this Acupuncture Center from my general practitioner two months ago; she recommended this center because she goes there for treatments herself. I apparently have nerve damage close to my spine and lately it has been very uncomfortable to deal with it. I was treated by Nick this first visit and i immediately felt the difference in the level of discomfort. I am so grateful for places of service such as this one and am looking forward to my next visit.

This place is fabulous! My 15 year old daughter is a gymnast and she puts a lot of stress on her body 5 days a week. She suffers from chronic low back and shoulder pain. After 1 time of seeing Viola she felt a lot of relief! She is currently being seen 2 times a week to manage her issues. And to boot my daughter was 1 day into a nasty cold and after the 1 treatment she is pretty much over it! I can’t say enough good things about this place! Thank you!

I have been receiving acupuncture for at least 10 years, from various community clinics in the places I have lived. I love Santa Rosa Community Acupuncture, Viola and Derek and friends. They have treated me for depression, for my chronic neck pain, for stress, and other aches and illnesses. I am thrilled every time. And sometimes I forget to come back, because they have hit my problems right on the head and I feel so much better!
I also really appreciate the sliding scale, the comfortable environment, and the proximity. A definite recommendation — they know what they are doing.

Group setting acupuncture in a professional, clean, and quiet environment. Viola Huang-​Beck is an excellent practitioner and her bed-​side manner is first rate. I love her! I’ve made good progress on rebalancing my body through her treatment and guidance, and I can’t recommend her more highly. She has listened to all my concerns and addressed them, sometimes giving general lifestyle advice that I have found very useful. The other staff members I’ve interacted with have been professional as well. This is a good place to go if you need some help with your body.

Excellent service at a very affordable price! I’ve been treated by Viola Huang-​Beck and she’s very knowledgeable about acupuncture and gentle with needling. Marie is also excellent and incredibly effective as well as gentle. The atmosphere is very clean and comfortable with a beautiful asian flair. It’s easy to schedule online though they take walk-​ins too and sometimes it can be a bit of a wait. I came here for back and neck issues after I moved to the area and the treatments helped reduce pain and stiffness significantly. I recommend this clinic highly!

Excellent. I have been going since June. Michael’s work with me made it possible for me heal plantar fasciatis and go on a 4 day hike in Glacier Park in August. We are now working on neuropathy pain. I really like the atmosphere there – very relaxing, and Michael is very gentle and capable. I worked one time with Derek, too, and he was also very good. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

I love Santa Rosa Community Acupuncture. I have been going there for about 5 months now mostly for Interstitial Cystitis and hot flashes. When I started I was not sleeping due to the hot flashes and having to get up every few hours to use the bathroom. I am now almost symptom free. My stress levels have gone down greatly and I am sleeping much better. As a side benefit, my skin is so smooth and has a great color. People keep asking me what beauty products I am using.
I would highly recommend them to anyone. The price is great as well as the service. I feel like I am back to my old self again thanks to them.

I’ve worked with all of the acupuncturists here and I think they are all very good at their job.
I’ve been going here for a little over a month for neck pain and to help with fertility. I was actually skeptical that this would work but I figured it couldn’t hurt.
It worked! I just found out I’m pregnant and I no longer have neck pain! Their costs are very reasonable and the setting is calming. I highly recommend this place for all of your acupuncture needs.

I highly recommend Viola Huang-​Beck and her staff. I had lots of pain following a fall and leg injury and she and her staff helped me so much. I will go back for future treatments if the need arises.

LOVE Santa Rosa Community Acupuncture! A family member with Mental health issues, was given a medication that didn’t work and had adverse reactions. They saw Derek a handful of times and now are doing great! Getting more stable all the time. Do give them a try!

There are a few other community acupuncture clinics around, however, this one is the best in terms of knowing their patients and following up and checking in with a problem that was treated. Hands down, they receive a strong recommendation.

Some people think acupuncture is only for muscle and joint pain. I was having severe chest pain (yes, hospital emergency) and all cardiac test were negative. Presumptive diagnosis was erosive esophagitis secondary to long-​standing GERD. After my 3^rd acupuncture treatment, the symptoms started to improve. After 6 treatments (every day), the problem is about 90% fixed. Remember, western medicine offers little help here. I am an experienced biomedical researcher and I don’t scoff at results like these. You’re missing out if you don’t give acupuncture a try, and SRCA is a WONDERFUL health-​care model. I received treatment from all 3 practitioners and I credit them with saving me from an intractable condition. KUDOS SRCA!

I had high hopes for this place based on other reviews here. I came in to see Derek Doss for the first time. When I first came in, no one was there to greet me. After a few minutes of just standing there awkwardly, he finally came in. No warm greeting whatsoever. Consultation was quick and cold, no empathy or friendliness. I honestly felt rushed. Got in, and he was not gentle with the needles at all! He would just stab me quickly without telling me where he was going to put them. While in the chair, I heard drawers slamming, and a lot of movement going on. It was hard to relax because of the noise. I left feeling okay and confused about my experience. I expected more, but I think I want to give this place another chance with the other acupuncturists.
One thing that really put me off was when I got home, my ear had a puddle of blood in it from the needles! This has never happened before and I’ve been to several acupuncturists! Not happening.
I’ll try again with a different acupuncturist and I’ll update then.

My favorite practitioner at Santa Rosa Community Acupuncture is JOAN Plastino. I felt immediate results after my very first session with Joan. She possesses a radiant healing energy that extends far beyond her formal training, which is extensive. While some practitioners treat the whole via accessing mainly the extremities (hands and feet), Joan will also go to the source. Joan offers exceptional listening skills and incorporates knowledge from many disciplines. Seeing Joan always feels like visiting an old friend. I’ve been regularly going to SRCA for a year and a half now for various complaints, the biggest one being my low back. I had been seeing Viola due to my schedule, but due to their increasing growth, Joan was recently added to the practice. Recently Joan’s schedule has met my needs better, and I couldn’t be happier. Joan is very attentive to my needs and comfort. She is able to pinpoint the site of my pain and uses my feedback to alter my treatment as needed to maximize it’s benefits.
Viola uses an indirect approach by using channels to help correct the problem. Joan uses mainly direct application– right at the site of the problem, as well as indirect. I have found relief doing both ways, but find the direct approach is more effective for me.
Viola can get quite busy and the wait can be extended to get started with your session. With Joan I am able to come in and get set up and she is ready to start. I have had great treatments from all three providers and each provide high quality care. The sliding scale has been a life saver. I wouldn’t be able to afford consistent treatment without SRCA, not to mention the wide availability of hours and days. I’ve enthusiastically referred anyone who I can to SRCA and each one has been happy with their treatment.

Viola goes above and beyond to get you healthier and happier. She gave me book recommendations, diet guidelines, relaxation tips — many times she felt like a personal life coach.
