Description

Specialties

I am an integrative movement educator trained in Pilates and non Pilates based movement. My interest is on healthy aging, and I work mostly with women 50 and older who want to improve their strength, stamina, resilience, and balance and to have more energy for the things they love to do.

I also work with neurological conditions such as Parkinsons, Cerebral Palsy, MS, stroke…

I offer instruction in meditation, restorative movement and creative inquiry coaching for self care.

I make home visits where appropriate.

I have created a Core and Balance for mature adults and the frail elderly.

I have worked with chronic conditions and post rehabilitation from an injury and addiction, working with you and your health team in deciding goals for your progress.

The emphasis is on correcting imbalances, optimal posture and alignment, core strength and whole body integration for optimal functional movement.

History

Established in 2010.

Pilates mat and equipment sessions, aerial duets, meditation and restorative movement, creative inquiry and renewal coaching. Home visits. Core and Balance for mature adults and frail elderly.

I bring 30 years of movement and mind body training to my work, I’m a movement specialist and comprehensively certified Pilates instructor. I teach the principles of core strengthening, intrinsic movement, breath awareness and whole body integration. I have worked with conditions from chronic illness to post rehabilitation and recovery from injury, surgery and addiction; degenerative disc disease, Dementia, and depression, and have witnessed dramatic improvement in my clients’ functional movement, confidence, and overall energy.. I have managed my own chronic back pain, reversed bone loss, and being 60ish, I bring sensitivity to bare upon the the over 50 body. For mature adults and the frail elderly, I teach a Core and Balance program using supportive props and mostly performed from a chair.
