Maid In the Shade

Maid in the Shade is reliable, professional, communicative, and do a great job! We have them clean our therapy office building with six offices and additional staff space, including bathrooms and a kitchen. Each Monday we walk into to a beautiful, fresh space. My staff noticed the difference the first week Maid in the Shade started. They are efficient and I highly recommend them for your regular cleaning service!

Kim and her team did a great job on my move out cleaning. Everything sparked and they paid attention to the little details. Her fees were reasonable and she made the process so easy. I highly recommend them if you need fast and efficient professionals. Definitely call MAID IN THE SHADE! Thanks Kim!

Well I tried!!! Hired them and the job they did was horrible, figured it was a learning curve so contacted Kim. The next time they came, the lead cleaner told me not to call Kim, «If you have problems talk directly to us»… So I wrote instructions for things that were overlooked but should have been included and brought to their attention that even though there were 3 cleaners, it takes more than 30 minutes to clean a two story townhouse! After the last cleaning, which was totally sub-​par, I decided to end my relationship with this company. I’ve had house cleaners previously but none as lazy as this outfit. I gave one star because they showed up!!! And please Kim, don’t bother to respond or rebut my review, it seems that your response to negative reviews is the same and quite defensive and really doesn’t solve the problems your staff create. In a nutshell they just aren’t thorough cleaners.

After speaking with the owner, I decided to use this company, and I’m glad I did! She explained very clearly what the cleaning entailed and how her pricing worked. They were in and out in a timely manner and did an excellent job! I feel like they have very competitive pricing and felt like I got my monies worth. They were professional and I would use them again.

I reached out to every cleaning service in Santa Rosa and these folks got back right away even though they were not able to come that day– they at least had the courtesy to call me back. That is customer service!!! I will call in advance next time and use them!!!

I used them for a move-​out clean which I usually do myself but couldn’t this time. I was nervous about hiring a cleaning service as I have very high standards of cleaning. I was pleasantly surprised and got back every penny of my cleaning deposit!
They came with professional tools to get the job done and worked very quickly! When they were done, I checked over their work and had no complaints, at all! Worth every penny! You won’t be sorry! Plus, they were very nice and friendly, which is always a bonus.

As a Realtor I always have clients asking me for referrals for good reliable services. Kim and her team at Maid in the Shade are my go to house cleaners when I have a client moving into a new house that could use some shinning or a new listing that needs to be cleaned up before we go on market. They send in a 3 person team that does that job efficiently and at high standards. Every time I have used them the house has come out thoroughly clean and sparkling. Real easy to schedule and they accommodate many different situations.

Yikes! I called Kim to have her staff clean a 300 square foot studio that a tenant moved out of. The results were disastrous: Missed grease spots, half cleaned window sills, and even toothpaste still left on a bathroom wall.
More disappointing than anything was Kim’s defensiveness when I told her that it wasn’t done right. She insisted that our agreement didn’t cover walls or other things that were not cleaned, and that because she used ” green cleaners” some things weren’t cleaned. Baloney, and a horrible excuse for a half hearted job.
Although she had her crew come back to rectify the situation, I shouldn’t have to have to tell a cleaning crew to actually clean. Steer clear of this outfit.

This is the ABSOLUTE WORST COMPANY to go through. They charged me $ 450 and took 3 hours with 3 people to clean one bathroom and my fridge. When I refused to pay for the three hours they threatened to take me to small claims court. The owner called my phone 6 times and texted me twice in a matter of one hour regarding the dispute of payment. Please save yourself time, money and peace of mind and never use them.

OMG… the worst cleaning and attitude I have ever encountered. I went to check the work before writing the check. All the light fixtures were still dusty, the stainless appliances had not been touched, the cabinets were dusty. When I asked about this, the reply was we don’t climb ladders, we don’t have stainless polish or cleaner, and we had furnish them vinegar for supplies. The cleaner said we always tell people we don’t do ladders or stainless steel. NO THEY DIDN’T!!! Bad attitude and total ripoff!!!

We just had the pleasure of working with Kim and her staff getting our house cleaned! She was very professional, for our first cleaning she called to set up the cleaning time, called me the day before to confirm the time that her staff would be at our home, and then called the next day to follow up on our cleaning.
On to her staff’s job of our house, we were SO thrilled when we came home to our house! I appreciated that they used white vinegar to clean our floors, no icky chemicals that might be bad for our dog. Every sink was polished, surface dusted, cabinet wiped down. We had a lot of dust and dog hair, and it was all neatly removed, and everything was put back in place.
Having Maid In The Shade clean our home has given us the gift of time and happiness, neither my husband or myself love cleaning. To not have to look at a dusty corner, or grubby cabinet door and think, «ugh, it needs to be cleaned, but I just don’t want to do it.» It also removes the pressure of feeling like I was doing all the cleaning, now we just share the cost of someone else doing it, and I don’t give up my whole day off, Maid in the Shade did our first cleaning in a couple hours! There is little else in life that can have that kind of an effect on your well being and your marriage, for the price!

I have to agree with Abby C. Kim is really one of the rude people i have encountered in this business and i mean i do use the services of house cleaners often. But when i called her at the beginning of this summer she was so rude and gave me the same attitude that Abby explained below. She has a lot of attitude and she actually told me to find some one else. I really wonder WHY she is in the business. This business is all about customer service and she does not have that even over the phone
After reading all the other negative reviews that she has, it turns out that she is not accountable for her actions and she has a reason for every thing that is negative about her services. Billing for cleaning services per the hour is rediculous

We have been using Maid in the Shade close to 10 months now and all I can say is WOW! They are so professional, kind, and make sure you are 100% happy. We love the fact that we didn’t have different people coming in every week, but in fact the same women, which was nice because we got to train them if you will, on what our expectations were. We recommend Maid in the shade to everyone! Great Service!

DISCLAIMER: I have not actually used their services, but the over the phone manner, and snotty attitude (maybe she was just having a bad day?) was really crummy. I have many questions about why/​how maid services charge by the hour when to me, there seems to be no incentive to get work done quickly, if Im paying by the hour. I mentioned this to Kim, asked if she thought it was counter intuitive and she told me to go elsewhere. Will do Kim! Will do.

«WOW» is all I could think when I came home after our first cleaning with Maid in the Shade. In just 2 hours, 3 people had cleaned our entire house and boy did it need it! Kim put us on a bi-​weekly schedule and it’s so nice now to not have to hash out cleaning chores with the roommates and to come home to a clean house. We are grateful for the friendly, reliable, consistent care we get from the professionals at Maid in the Shade and recommend them to anyone in need of a housecleaning solution.

I have used Maid in the Shade for over a decade. First at my home in Cloverdale, Windsor and now Santa Rosa. They are professional, courteous, punctual and reliable.
Kim, the owner, is always available by phone and email and is a consummate professional. The prices are fair and the work is consistent and great.
I recommend Maid in the Shade to anyone looking for a house cleaning service in the Sonoma County area. I am a native in Sonoma County (since 1979) and its a local family owned business since the late 1980’s and I look to support local businesses that support our local economy.

This was the worst housecleaning service I have Ever experienced!
So much was left uncleaned, I had to point out simple clean ups, toilets, sink, mirrors, stove top, etc.
After 3 hours a staff of 3 did not have my house clean on a pretty easy job. I was moving in & wanted a thorough move-​in house clean.
I think we had 1 professional cleaning lady & 2 who were being trained.
We tried to work with the management, by inviting her to come to the home the day of service to see why I was reporting a poor job. She refused, saying she backs her employees work & she does not give refunds.
We were not looking for a refund, simply the job done well for the $ 200 we had paid! I was shocked at how disrespectful the woman was. Be Warned. She is very rude if you are not pleased with whatever service her staff decides to give you.

They did a wonderful job… I would highly recommend them to my family and friends

My son and I had lived in our place for 5 years, it was pretty much a mess when we moved. I called about a move-​out cleaning. Price quoted was fair, scheduled it, a crew of 3 people were sent out
