Not shopping here for a very long time. Customer service was horrible. I was given the wrong information on the sale and when I turned around to go back in the store to return it they told me I wasn’t allowed to and that there was nothing they could do about it. I was not informed at the register that the items were non returnable. Had to pay way more than I thought and they wouldn’t let me return it five minutes after I was rung up and had to wait in a long line twice. My bad for not paying attention at the register I guess but it would have been nice had she gone over the sale to make sure I knew what I was getting on sale and what I wasn’t. The attitude was not welcome either. Not a happy customer. Love the stuff but the service was not awesome. I think I’ll stick to shopping online.

I absolutely have no idea why the reviews are so bad. The customer service is great, everyone is so nice in there. I haven’t had one complain yet.

The review below mine is so disgustingly judgmental and downright wrong. I’ve been shopping at this hot topic for over 10 years. They sell alternative brands for the eccentrically inclined, as well as tons of novelty stuff from literally every single one of my favorite fandoms. They also carry vinyl which is awesome and generally hard to find unless you’re ordering online which is never as much fun. Everyone is always super happy and helpful

HOT TOPIC is the destination, the Mecca for the hipsters/​emo. Back in the day, «goth» was the term for emo. This place has an abundance of My Chemical Romance/​Good Charlotte/​All-​American Rejects/​TWILIGHT merchandise. Their music section has an odd combo of emo rock like Apocalyptica, the fluff of Katy Perry, and some rap (??)
There are leather gloves, vampire outfits, you name it, for sleeping in your coffin after reading Edgar Allan Poe all night long. If you want to blather about how cool it is to be pessimistic and misanthropic, praising Arthur Schopenhauer’s description of Nature as «blood in tooth and claw», and you speak endlessly about «animals ripping each other apart” – this is the place for you. If the thought of people’s brains dissolving due to mad cow disease turns you on, HOT TOPIC will also fulfill your zombie fantasies.
HOT TOPIC is the place to go if you think optimism and happiness are for wimps! If your notable quotes are «Only fools are always happy» and an annoyed «Why are you ALWAYS HAPPY?» this is the place to spend your dollars. Misery loves company. «Tickle me emo» indeed…
