History
Established in 2008.
We started En Garde Fencing with one goal in mind, to create a fencing community in Santa Rosa where everyone was welcome to learn about the art of the sword. Today we have a fun, energetic and amazing group of fencers. EGF is a place for everyone who loves to Fence!
Our club started out renting rooms in a church. Usually we held practice on the altar stage, and moved stuff aside in order to have the space to fence. The Glaser Center was always awesome to us and we are grateful for their kindness.
Then we moved to the Odd Fellows Hall, and once again found a great group of folks who helped us along our way. We will always remember our time with both groups fondly. Rent space from them if you need it!
Our current location has high ceilings, a large open floor and room for 6 electric fencing strips. We built a great wooden floor with the generous help of 20+ students and have been growing into our space ever since.
