Al’s Sunset Barber Shop

John, I believe that’s the gentleman’s name, did a very good job on my haircut. I’ve been going to this barbershop since 2003. Sometimes I get my relative to do my hair, hence a long time absence. However, I was in need of a quick haircut and this place popped right into my head. The gentleman that did my hair was very cool and professional. Big thumbs up for him. Will definitely come back again for sure.

Jeff was great took his time and did it right. Has an old school barbershop feel. Bring cash my mistake but he was cool and took a check. Will go back for sure!

My kinda shop. Great price & personnel excellence is their key motto. So good that at times it takes almost an hour to get finished. To long for my taste but majority of the time the time is excellent. Love that it’s near by my house. They even did a great job cutting my 2 year olds hair twice. He got better at sitting through it all thanks to their patience.

I chose Al’s Sunset Barber Shop because it was near my house and had 4 good reviews. However, luckily for all 4 reviewers, they did not receive my haircut. I asked for a 3 on the sides and a little off the top.
After 30 minutes of random buzzing and 2 minute breaks where he seemed to be staring off into space I was spun around in my chair. He had literally taken nothing off the top. After telling him I wanted it shorter on top he did a few snips with the scissors and was done. I thought about not paying, but I have never done that before and hadn’t yet seen the back of my head. A complete hack job. My girlfriend was horrified. There were bald patches and tuffs of hair. Absolutely the worst my girlfriend or I have ever seen.
I had to go and get it fixed and it still looks like I have some kind of skin disease. Ugh, please be weary of this place. I hate to write such a bad review, my only review ever, but I do not want anyone else to have to experience what I did. I posted a picture my girlfriend took right after the haircut.
I want to note that this was the older of the barbers, looked to be in his 80’s.

Had my hair cut by Jeff for $ 15 and I came away very pleased. It was my first visit, Al & Emma were also working and the place looks like a great place to get your hair cut. He wasn’t quick, paid attention to detail and made sure I was happy with everything. I will definitely come back!

Hands down best barber shop in Santa Rosa. I have been to countless places to cut my hair but this place beats them all. They have that old school barber feel to them. If you want a consistent, clean, good haircut every time get your hair done by Emma. The other barber’s are good as well. So check this place out for pro haircut at a affordable price!
