History

Established in 1965.

with the opening of QMA, Quality Machine & Associates. The new business, wholly owned and operated by Don Henthorn, quickly gained a reputation as the premier manufacturer specialized in precision machine work and servicing customers like Rocketdyne, Rockwell and Hughes Aircraft. In 1979, QMA began development on its newest project – a hydraulic tubing bender designed for muffler shops. They settled on the brand name BendPak, and a legend was born. Who would have guessed where our devotion to the customer would lead us? Recently purchase a BendPak lift. We loved it! However, after having it for 2 years, the paint began to lift. The paint is coming off in large sheets. When I notified the company and asked for help in the cost of re-​coating the lift, Toland Starnes told me the lift had been underwater and that they would send me a gallon of paint. The lift has not been underwater, I think it must have been rusted when it was coated. I sent them pictures of the sheet of paint peeling off the top of the tower and I have not received a response. I feel this is a problem in the painting process and that the company should stand behind their product. Disappointed!

Was interested in a mid-​rise left due to low ceiling restrictions. I called Bendpak who immediately referred me to a distributor who help me select the MD-​6XP and I had my lift within a week. Excellent customer service and efficiency.

Beware BendPak distributor Workshop Depot! Dave is the president and if you ruffle his feathers he’ll tell you to go away! Sarah is a sweetheart until you need some help and follow up and she will drop you like a hot rock! Once I get my garage rewired for 220 to my lift I will review it. Ordered 110 but the notes of Workshop Depot say I’m a liar!

Was in need of a tire changer and balancer. Chose the r26dt dual arm assisted and dst2420 balancer. Both have been flawless in use. The dual arms really helped in minimal effort taking tires off and on. Even comes built in «cheetah» bead blaster which is a plus! Run flats are now easy. Balancer has been accurate and no comebacks so far. Had a couple issues with freight damage but that was solved in one visit for warranty. Highly recommended as I consider these best price on the market for the options it provides.

I bought 4 new BendPak lifts. The city of Los Angeles would not give me a permit because these lifts were not certified by an independent test lab. BendPak would not replace the lifts. I sued in small claims and won the max plus costs against them. Despite BendPak’s web site info, BendPak is a disreputable company that sells uncertified lifts to an unwitting public. Don’t trust them – ever!

I purchased a HD-​9XW 4 post lift and it works like a dream. I’ve had my Dodge 2500 long bed on it for weeks while doing axle work. My Jeep and other vehicles visit it regularly for service and maintenance. The RJ-​45 rolling jack is stout and simple to use and install. Delivery was quick through an authorized dealer. It was easy to find service agents through BendPak as well.

I own an independent auto repair shop in Uxbridge, MA. We are a general repair shop that does a very low volume of tires. Last year, we were looking for new tire mounting and balancing machines. We decided on a Ranger R26DT for our tire changing machine because it was a machine that was advertised as a low-​medium volume machine that had all of the features we were looking for at a fair price point.
DO NOT waste your money!!! This machine has been a nightmare from day one! When it does work, it is very difficult to use due to the poor pedal locations. The bead breaker is terribly weak and takes a looong time to break beads, especially on slightly larger tires. We have had all kinds of problems with air valves just randomly exploding, usually when the machine is sitting idle with nobody even touching it!!! This machine is junk and a safety hazard!!!
DO NOT waste your money!!!
