Yahoo makes it impossible to contact them by phone, probably because it has so many dissatisfied customers and the phones would ring off their hooks. It’s shameful.

Outdoor basketball hoop on a half court with gardens surrounding it :) Yahoo has created a half-block sized community park for Santa Monica residents. There are a few pull up bars, a small garden, a children’s play place, and my favorite, the half court! One of the best feelings in the world is going to a quiet court, in a pretty place, and being able to shoot hoop without obnoxious NBA wanna-bees alley ooping over your peaceful time. This is definitely my little treasured spot. The hours are great as well, dawn till 11pm I believe. My only complaint is the lighting in the park, particularly near the bball court after sunset. With winter coming(haaaahhh GOT), the sun drains all the light and only darkness is cast across the court. Makes for a dangerous area.

Review for Yahoo Center Park I recently moved to the surrounding area and I was looking on Google maps for nearby parks with some sort of outdoor fitness center and I saw a few stations in this little fenced off public park. The selection is pretty small but offers enough for a full body workout with parallel, monkey, and pull-up bars, and a climbing ladder apparatus(if you are looking for more, there’s a great selection at Clover Park on Ocean Park). There are a few scattered signs with recommended reps as well for those just starting out. I might bring my TRX out here to supplement the equipment. The overall park seems clean and well maintained and is a winner in my book: a terrific little oasis of a park in busy Santa Monica!

A hidden gem of a park with open space, benches, peace and quiet. The perfect place on a weekend to walk your dog(please scoop the poop), stay awhile to read a book and enjoy the sunshine, play some hoops or tennis or just throw out a blanket and enjoy a box lunch. Free parking on Sundays. Two Paws Up! from Turbo(my photo).

Pretty sweet place to work. Obviously traffic blows around this area but that’s a given. The food choices around here are great. They have free wifi in the courtyard area, which your employer can give you the code. The courtyard has lots of seating area to eat and they have a cool water fountain. Also across the street is the water garden which is an amazing place to grab lunch. Parking in this building really sucks. If you come into the building anytime after 9am forget about finding a space. Luckily they do have tandem parking with parking attendants on duty. They also have a basketball court, tennis court, and track which is part of a public park.

Quaint business park with some nice mall-type eateries built in. Covered outside tables are a plus. Haven’t tried the tennis court; the basketball court is nice with the plexiglass backboard. Squeaky clean tennis court-type surface, but it’s gotta be more than a half. Have at least one full court, please! Don’t tease!

Go here a lot, great place! Just watch out for nasty people trying to do it in the lawn(classy) and the grass can also be soggy leaving you wondering if it’s pee… Hey it’s in the LA area and it’s a park! Can’t complain too much =)

Beautiful, dog friendly center with plenty of space to walk, sit or run around. They even have a «waste station» for dog owners complete with poop bags. The Water Garden across the way is beautiful as well but the dog-friendliness of this place makes it a 5-Star Venue in my book!

Driving along Broadway or 26th Street in Santa Monica, you may have caught a glimpse of a park, or tennis courts alongside the Yahoo offices. You might not have thought much about it, but this is a really nice park. It’s privately owned, so it isn’t a Santa Monica city park. I come here most often for the playground, which is admittedly pretty small. But my kid really likes it, and there’s a nice lawn nearby to run on. A bonus about the small playground is that it isn’t overrun with some of the more intimidating parents you see at parks in Santa Monica – there aren’t any mommy cliques here. There’s also a halfcourt for basketball, some tables with a fountain nearby, and some nice landscaping. I don’t know what the parking situation is like, as I live close enough to walk here.

Living down the street with no AC, I’ve found solace during many heat waves in this cute little park. My favorite thing is to lounge on one of the clean benches with a good book and a snack. Sometimes I’ll bring a towel to spread out on the grass, though that has rarely worked out because the grass is often wet or there are people playing bocce ball or frisbee in the area. For the athletes out there, the park features those weird monkey bar looking things where you do various exercises that I have obviously never done. There’s also a cute little playground for the neighborhood kiddies. The surrounding area is nothing to write home about, but this makes the park even more of a precious oasis.

The Yahoo! Center tennis courts have been reviewed separately, somewhat unfavorably. I didn’t go into the tennis courts, but the rest of the park looked so pristine I thought for a minute I was in Beverly Hills. Yahoo! Center is across the street from Helen’s cycle shop. There’s a little running path inside the space, which is completely fenced. The landscaping is appealing, lots of trees, and a huge outdoor sculpture. Not sure what this is, this thing that could be a shallow pool under construction. A water feature would be lovely here. There is a small kiddie play area, with that cushiony surface underneath your feet that makes you feel like you’re walking on a giant sponge. And tennis courts. A basketball court. Pretty damn sweet. Yahoo! Center is a perfect spot for a peaceful picnic under a tree. Last Sunday there were less than a dozen people enjoying the space, so I’m thinking it’s a little-known treasure. Enjoy.
