We Rock the Spectrum – Santa Monica

«We (DO NOT) Rock The Spectrum» have the worst staff I’ve ever encountered among all indoor playgrounds in Santa Monica and LA area.
We attended my daughter’s friend birthday party at «We (DO NOT) Rock The Spectrum» this morning. 20 minutes into the party, «Mathew» called upon everyone to sit down to have a circle time. If you have kids you know it’s not easy to have them get off the «toys» when they were in the middle of playing! Finally everyone was situated, and then we waited and waited for something to happen. There were nothing! «Mathew» was searching (or struggling) through something on the computer for about 3 minutes. And his coworker «Cayla» was doing nothing, just standing over there the whole time. You don’t have to be an «expert» of entertainment to figure out you must do something, anything, to entertain and keep 20 anxiously waiting kids at bay. NOPE. They DID NOT do anything to aid to this awkward (and unprofessional) moment. Finally we heard a song singing something like «good morning» from the speaker for about 5 seconds. And, that’s it?! That’s the song. That’s the reason why Mathew asked everyone to sit down for 3 minutes for. And then «Mathew» and «Cayla» released the circle.
Soon we had lunch, kids didn’t seem to mind the awkward circle time incident. And in the middle of the lunch time, while everyone was still having lunch, «Cayla» peeked into the room and announced that the ARTS AND CRAFTS time is open in another room. My daughter was so eager to do the arts and crafts. So she stopped eating her lunch, rushed to the bathroom to clean up, and then returned to me in one minute to tell me the ARTS AND CRAFTS was cancelled!
I went to Cayla to ask her why. She explained the ARTS AND CRAFTS room was occupied by parents and kids having lunch there. By the time she cleaned it up, it will be no time to do any arts and crafts. So she just canceled it. I asked her why she would do such a thing: Announced the event, excited the kids and then let them down, all in 3 minutes (without even double checked the arts and crafts room beforehand)?! First is the «false» CIRCLE TIME, and then the false «ARTS AND CRAFTS. «Cayla» replied back «But no one is complaining.» I asked her what she meant. «Other moms are OK with it.»
So. Debra D., the owner of «We Rock The Spectrum,» I sincerely suggest you should either find someone else who respects this job you offer them, or heavily RETRAIN YOUR STAFF for their professional skills, especially their customer service skills. How to talk to a client (without aggravating them), that kind of thing.
At the mean time, fellow Unilocalers, use «My Gym» as your next kids bday party venue. You’ll get your money worth it: bigger space, much more professional staff, and better parking situation. (Yep, «We Rock the Spectrum» cancelled a parking agreement with SM pharmacy across the street 3 days before the party. My friend was upset but couldn’t do anything but ask the guests to find street parking on their own).

Took my son Finn and daughter Audrey here for the first time and they had so much fun. Every one there was so happy and help full. Thank you for a great time. We will be back

This was a solid place for my kids to play this week. It was not too crowded but wish the space had a better lay out. All in all a great experience and would recommend for other families looking for an indoor play space.

Rocks for sure! So much fun for toddlers. During the week probably more enjoyable.

A fun spot for you to take your kids to burn off some steam. I’d wait until yours are at least 3 to bring them here. Because of the smaller space, there are inevitable crashes and bumps happening, most are minor, but even I was hit pretty hard by a girl on a swing. She had apparently jumped on to one and wanted to go really fast, but failed to check if she was going to hit anyone.
The spot wasn’t exactly clean… Lots of dust bunnies lying around. I can see it being a tough spot to keep super clean, but it needs to be taken care of considering how many kids are probably running through here on a regular basis.

I absolutely love this kids gym. There staff is wonderful, and they have the best equipment in town. I highly recommend We Rock the Spectrum Santa Monica!

What a perfect place for play dates and birthday parties! My new favorite kids gym! Clean, tons of fun, great service and the kids don’t like it — they LOVE IT!

Super friendly staff. I took my nieces here to play and they loved it! It’s not a huge playground but rather small kozy and they have the essential things kids like. They have swings trampoline and some other fun toys. The price was also very reasonable compared to other indoor playgrounds.

This is a great sensory gym for any kid but esp. For kids with sensory sensitivities. The owner is super nice. It’s a fun place to play. Highly recommend!

This place is awesome. We also tried the dance class and Casey was great with the kids.

We were on vacation and found this GREAT place! My son loved it! It really sparked his curiosity. Your child will be exhausted when their done. You will defiantly see you child do something new for the first time! Check it out you wont be disappointed! The owner and all of the staff were super friendly. Even I didn’t want to leave!

I would bring my 20 mo toddler back when he’s older for the zipline and trampoline but I found open play to be exhausting. He was running around and older kids were on the swings and he even got knocked down once by two kids wrestling in a covered swing. I think the swings area should be cordoned off in some way if there are mixed ages. They had balls and toys in baskets under the zipline but no real place to play with them. It just felt really cramped.

We’ve been passing this place and been wanting to visit for the longest time, and finally we were able to. I have two very active kids ages 4 and 2. We went on a weekday, after lunch, for Open Play. There were only about 4 – 6 kids at that time — not even all at once, while we were there so the place was pretty chill. My kids surely had a blast! They loved zip-​lining.
It was really tough for me to get them to leave.
The staff was very nice, they engage the kids and you can tell that they sincerely enjoy what they are doing.
We have yet to come back for more.

The owner and all of the staff were super friendly and engaged with the kids! I took the toddler I nanny for there yesterday and we spent the entire afternoon having a ball! I will definitely be taking him again very soon! I highly recommend this place!

No more waiting for hours with the kids at UCLA hospital office lobby, this place is the perfect place to hang out with the kids while wife or grandpa go to their routine doctor visit at any of the local hospitals like UCLA.

Our two kids love Rock the Spectrum! We just had our son’s 3 year old birthday party at Rock the Spectrum and the kids and adults had a blast!
We also love the staff, how clean the place is and all the fun activities. This summer, our 3-​year old son has participated in their «Summer Camp» program. We are able to drop him off from 9:00 AM to Noon and he has a wonderful time. They always do a craft activity, have a snack and he loves playing with the other kids and staff members.
I definitely recommend it — especially those with very active kids!

Such a great place for kids to play and hand out. Clean and safe environment with new quipment. I bring my nephew every week and just loves it… his favorite thing to do is the zip line.

My 5 year old son is special for so many reasons…& he especially LOVES this gym!!! He fits right in & is welcomed with open arms by owner Debra & her kind, caring, energetic staff! The fitness classes have helped him gain self-​control & focus in a small class room setting & he always leaves tuckered out & asking when we can return! Thank you for creating a place on the WESTSIDE for a special boy like mine to exercise & learn & create & express himself in the funniest atmosphere & with the friendliest staff around! We love «Deb’s Gym!»…We Rock the Spectrum Santa Monica!!!

Santa Monica has needed a place exactly like this for a long time!
I have a 2 children: 5 & 9, and we love coming here!
There is so much to do here that we had to return 3 times our first week because we kept feeling like we hadn’t done everything We Rock SM had to offer.
From the indoor gym, to the arts and crafts area, to the huge trampoline, the kids can never run out of things to do!
It is definitely a great alternative to the city parks, and a great spot to have a play date!
The staff down to Deb, the owner of We Rock SM are very inviting and accommodating to all. When you are here, you immediately feel comfortable, and at home.
oh! We Rock also offers kid fitness classes! Coach O is great!

Awesome place for ALL kids! Really cool space, tons of fun toys to play with, therapy-​based swings, just a great way to let kids get out some ENERGY! I think they are starting some mommy classes in the dance studio, too. LOVE.
