I came from the big apple and I have to say it was worth the trip just to have the Morrocon tea from this place. Never tasted any tea like it. It’s been a few hours and im already craving another glass. Really cool atmosphere. Outside seating is is nice.

Amazing coffee and tea. Great aroma and atmosphere. Adorable patio in the back. Would love to come to here again and maybe try brunch.

This restaurant is everything Unilocal reviewers claim it is. Dang cheap, fast, healthy, and delicious food! The dark chocolate crown cake is out of this world delicious. I would say the only downside is that seating is limites and chances are you can feel the persons breath next to you because they sit you so close together.

Delicious and fresh food. Had the tortilla soup with a Chicken Pennine sandwich and a fresh side salad! I will return to try many great, healthy, organic foods off their menu.

We decided to get Urth Caffe on Friday night when we wanted a low key dinner. We haven’t tried it since living in the area, and thought it would be relatively cheap and easy. First off, we got there around 7:30, and the place was absolutely packed. The line doesn’t move terribly quickly nor does food come out too quickly. I spent a summer during college working at Panera Bread, and this felt like a slower Panera, with more expensive prices and a few organic and vegan options. I’d choose Panera any day over this. We ordered, finally found a seat, and couldn’t get anyone to clean the table we were sitting at. I even asked someone, he sort of said yes, and then nothing. We finally moved to another table, not quite close enough to a space heater to be very warm. As I said, food took longer than expected to be delivered — a solid 15 minutes. For a grab and go type place, this is long. I had the half sandwich/bowl of soup option, including the grilled veggie with pesto sandwich and veggie chili. The veggie chili was hearty, but mostly full of beans, not veggies. The pesto sandwich had a good amount of veggies and pesto in it(eggplant, squash, etc.), but still a bit pricey considering. My fiancé had the nori plum rice wrap, and I hate to say it, but this was almost inedible. They were 5 – 6 large pieces of «sushi», and all you could taste within it was some type of mayo. I don’t see that included on the description, but it really wasn’t good. We had to go across the street for gelato afterward, as neither of us quite felt full or satisfied. We won’t be back.

All Urth Café locations are great! It’s better than other coffee places, better quality and less expensive too! I love the Spanish Latte, it’s what I usually order. Today I tried the Japanese green tea latte and It wasn’t my cup of tea… green tea should not be a latte. My favorite pastry is the cheesecake! It’s a thick nice creamy texture, as a cheesecake should be

Wonderful place! Amazing location. Sunday morning bike ride to Main Street Santa Monica for coffee & tea. Oh and their incredible pastries. Hubby’s birthday so he treated himself to a Sticky Bun. Not the dense tough dough but flakey almost filo type layers covered with gooey frosting and crunchy pecans. I had the non-fat banana nut muffin. Yes ying & yang! I tried the Spanish Latte. Very good. And hubby enjoyed the divine spiced chai tea latte. Both made with perfection. Jose L waited on me and took my order with patience as he was describing the items. Mario was at the other register and smiled and was so polite. I didn’t catch our servers name but all of them are beyond friendly and their smiles go so far. Perfection!

I’m not sure I can cover much other than the honey vanilla latte. It’s simply the best and so good that I’m writing a review just to tell everyone to order it. I usually try to order a scone with it but by the time I get there, they’re often out of them. There are other yummy sweets there but I haven’t had occasion to try them all. They look quite decadent so I have a hard time ordering one just for me. Three words: HONEYVANILLALATTE!!!

The line was super long and the café looks deceivingly small from the outside. My friend and I waited ~1.25 hours from the start to the line till we got our food. The space was super cute minus birds about to attack you every few seconds for your food. We got the popular chicken pesto sandwich and it was decent. The green tea latte was my favorite(and I got this humongous one but the little latte art was adorable.) We also got the eggplant pizza which was good — probably my second favorite. Then we got the corn tortilla soup which I could have done without. We also got three desserts(pumpkin pie, blueberry cheesecake and the fruit tart). The pumpkin pie wasn’t that good and not sure why people rave about it bc I ended up taking a bite and then throwing it away. For the blue berry cheesecake, it was pretty yummy, I’d order again but the true winner was the fruit tart! Overall a good experience, glad we made it and experienced all the hype of urth café!

Definitely the best in town! Why? Well, let’s admit it– it’s almost impossible to find healthy– not sugary but more veggy breakfast in the US. There are some but not always delicious. Urth offers taste, cool ambiance, good service and good price at the same time. I don’t have a favorite– all very good! There is always a line but moves fast– so don’t worry. They have two places, need to say i enjoyed Santa Monica door more than Beverly Hills. Enjoy!!!

Solid spot with outdoor and indoor tables. Nice to people watch outside on the patio along Main Street. We went at the peak of lunch hour on a Friday and were still able to snag a table but the location is definitely smaller than the downtown art district location. Potato and leek soup was just okay but love the curry chicken salad! Wide selection/variety of options on the menu.

*sniff *sniff *sniff Sunday 11am and they do not have any pizzas!!! so sad I was really craving their dlox pizza. I settled for the poach di parma, a little tricky to eat but still yummy. I love how they have cute characters on the lattes. The outside patio is very cute. Nice place to eat for brunch.

OHMYGOD! Hands down the best meal we had on our California trip!!! I order the D’Lox pizza after reading all of the tips and rave reviews. My brother ordered the margherita pizza and my mom ordered the Urth Salad. I also ordered the blended Moroccan mint boba tea. We had a little trouble finding a table as the place was super busy on a Monday afternoon. We ended up sitting at a table that had dirty plates and cups still there(they were immediately cleaned up as soon as we sat down). Our food took a little while to come out, but that was ok because the outside dining area was a very pretty and relaxing place to be. Once our food did arrive, I literally couldn’t wait to start eating. Everything looked fantastic! The D’Lox pizza was OUTOFTHISWORLD. Might be one of the best pizzas I have ever tried. I never would’ve thought that mascarpone cheese, smoked salmon, arugula, fennel and capers would work on top of a cheese pizza. Honestly I was weary of it when I ordered it, but I put my trust in the reviews. Gosh was it amazing. The mascarpone and salmon were the best part!!! The pizza also came with a side dish of micro basil, shaved parmesan, and olive oil with red pepper flakes mixed in. I was a big fan of dipping my perfectly cooked crust in the olive oil. Wonderful flavors!!! My mom and brother gushed over their meals as well. My brother said his pizza was the best he’s had since moving out to LA. My mom couldn’t stop talking about how good her salad was. She actually enjoyed the bread that was paired with the salad more than the salad, if that was even possible. Now to my absolute favorite part of the meal– the Morroccan mint tea with boba. GOODLORDWASTHATFANTASTIC. Hands down the best boba tea I have ever had in my life. It tasted like a wonderful mint ice cream. They serve it in a giant glass and I still couldn’t get enough of it. I highly considered ordering another glass to go. I decided against that though as I was so full I thought I would explode. Overall, Urth Caffe did not disappoint. I wish I could transplant a location to South Florida!

Love. Love. Love. Nothing but love people. Lots of seating out back which is good because the place fills up. Glad we beat the rush. They make beautiful designs in the froth… So make sure to order a warm beverage with froth when you go!

This is one of the busiest coffee shops I’ve been to. After having a Spanish latte and turkey burger I now understand the hype. Once you order your food & drink from the front counter, you get a number & pray that a seat is available. The tables are up for grabs– first come, first serve– but it’s ok because they have a high turnover rate. My turkey burger was large & juicy– perfect lunch

This Urth Caffe is very clean and friendly. We ordered a Spanish Granita, Moroccan Mint Latte, and Spanish Latte. Despite the semi-long wait for our drinks, we definitely enjoyed how delicious the quality of the beverages had. The employees are friendly and will over help in any way they can. The café offers valet, but there is street parking around the venue that can spare you from spending even more money. And of course, the latte foam art is never a let down.

Before coming home to California for the the holidays, I was brainstorming for a brunch place to go with my girlfriends. I wanted to go to a place that felt like home. Something I could only find in LA — year round outdoor seating, healthy yet delicious food, beautiful latte art(of course), and near the water. And then it came to me — Urth Caffe, a place that embodies everything I was looking for. And boy did it deliver! On that Sunday morning the sun was out and wearing my yoga pants, moccasins and Dodger hat I arrived around 11 am to find a short line. We waited just 10 minutes before we ordered and easily found a table on the patio. I had the green tea latte, complete with an eye pleasing lady bird design almost too good to drink. I also had the Banana Nut Oatmeal which comes with cooked bananas(think banana fosters), yummy granola, toasted nuts and choice of milk(almond milk for me). It was like heaven in a bowl! My lady friends had the Egg White and Spinach Panini(loved it) and the Egg Sandwich(really liked it). As we sat and reminisced about out how much has changed since we all lived in LA together, there was one thing that definitely had not changed, and that was our Love for Urth. And I plan to return with every visit to the city of angels.

Love Urth Caffe and can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this one yet! Large location, very spacious, clean and well kept. It can get really full here, except a wait. Prices are fair for the quality and portions you get, I usually just go with coffee and really love their blended options here. Excellent quality coffee, I was really pleased when I stopped in last week, made to perfection and ready in a descent amount of time when taking it to go. Worth a stop while in Santa monica!

This was my last stop before leaving Los Angeles. My sister and her friend were raving about this place. It is a beautiful café. I love the façade! Upon walking in, you see a display full of cakes and pastries. There is a note saying that the chefs come in everyday at 1am to make the pastries. I’m impressed and wish I tried one of the mini cakes. I had the Egg Sandwich and my friend had the Smoked Salmon Plate. We also ordered the green tea latte. The Egg Sandwich was enjoyable. There was a generous amount of avocado. Together with the scrambled egg, lettuce, mayo, and rustic roll, it was perfect! It also came with a side salad. The Smoked Salmon Plate looked like a piece of art. Very colorful. The green tea latte was good too. Not overly sweet. Plus, it came with a bird design! This place attracts a lot of people. As we were leaving, a line of people was starting to build up. This seems like a great place to chill and hang out with someone. Unfortunately, I had to go to the airport so I didn’t stay for too long.

I’ve been a patron of this specific Urth Café since early 2005, just after it opened. In the years between then and now, it has always held the torch of my personal favorite café… In the world. Context: I am a café hound. In every city, state and country I visit, cafes are the first nonessential stop. I have been traveling for work for the majority of my adult life, and LOVE to hit a new café every day. This means that to me… An addict with a coffeehouse problem… Urth Café being #1 is a pretty big deal. It is the ruler by which i measure all other cups… All other food offerings, and all other service. That being said… This location has changed over the years. What was once populated by Santa Monica’s trendy entitled… Is still thus populated… But now much, much more so. When you arrive, you’re going to have to get in line. You’ll likely be standing between milling crowds of people who don’t want to talk to you, and who worry that the dust of the commoner may taint their designer buttons on their willfully common clothes. Just consider this your normal exposure to douchey LA traffic. You’ll get through it. Tip: check if there is a line for seating. If yes: have host get you on that list as soon as you’re in door. Once you’re through, you get to order. Coffee so decadent… Hold on… In taking a moment of reverie to settle down. It gets me excited. Whew. Back now. Okay. Coffee offerings: just pick anything. I’ve never had a sub-par cup. Food: on the legit meal side it’s obvious there has been some care in developing both a speedy and healthy menu. You’ll dine and leave feeling’ fine. Should you happen to find anything wrong, one of the veritable swarm of employees will probably detect your worry and descend on you. They’ll address the problem and make it a priority. Now my biggest, baddest, most reality-bending factor in my love for the birth café: the goodies. I don’t always go in for the sweet stuff. I’m more of a spicy guy. However… The goods that Urth packs in their bakery case are on another level. These items are soooo good that they merit, on special occasions, a hundred mile out-of-way drive to press somebody and make their day that much brighter. I can’t sing their praises enough. In conclusion. A micro summary(I.e. tl;dr) Worth wading through piles of pretention. Drink awesome coffee. Eat food that makes you happy.

The short: great place to enjoy good food and bask in Socal sunshine This place seems to be famous for some reason. Definitely a spot to people watch, either dining or coming in from the beach. There are lots of small tables throughout(at the front, inside, at the back). Order at the counter and take the number to a table where waiters with their hawk eyes will somehow spot the table to bring the food. I had the flourless chocolate cake. At ~$ 6, I was hesitant about the price. However, the cake is very rich, decadent and filling. If all you want for a meal is a flourless chocolate cake, you can definitely substitute it for one because it is so filling! I also had a bite of my friend’s desserts and liked them too. Plus, free fruit-infused water!

I didn’t like their biscotti. It’s doughy, heavy and not crunchy. It got soggy when I dipped it into my latte. Absolute biscotti fail. Otherwise, great place. One of their locations that have more seating space. Matcha latte, my absolute Urth go to drink. The cashier was really friendly and nice. Parking: valet, paid lot or street.

When I’m not stuffing my face/being a fat lil’ piggy at In-N-Out, I sometimes enjoy a(somewhat) healthy meal at Urth Caffe. They’re known for serving specialty coffee & tea beverages, alongside a range of organic and gluten-free BLD options. I usually opt for the Urth salad and a green tea boba over ice. The Urth salad contains two of my absolute fave salad ingredients: kalamata olives and hearts of palm! It’s lightly tossed in a flavorful balsamic dressing. You can choose between a half or full size salad, but the half is generous enough for one(it also comes with a baguette)! I also enjoy the green tea boba, which is essentially an iced green tea latte. It tends to be a little on the sweet side, but is delicious once some of the ice has melted. After ordering at the counter, you’re given a number and asked to seat yourself. Despite the line being out the door, the service is fast! Meals usually pop out of the kitchen with 5 – 7 minutes. My favorite spot to sit is in the outdoor courtyard next to the water fountain. Urth may not be the place to go for a hungry macho man, but it’s a sweet spot to catch up with a friend over dessert & coffee or enjoy a light meal!

Definitely one of my favorite places to eat in LA. I always make sure i make a pit stop here when im in la. Food is always fresh and it never disappoints! There can be a wait at times but its only because everyone loves the food here! Huge selection of menu and nothing on the menu can go wrong. I usually order the tuna sandwich with urth salad. Great portion. A bit on the pricer side but its definitely worth the price. Also try the green tea(blended or ice) drink. Its so good you’ll crave more the second you finsh
