It’s right across from school, so you know it’s either gonna be really good or real bad. It’s goood. And at 33 cents an ounce, it is budgeted for us broke city-college students too. Not there’s anything wrong with city. Just because you’re going the community college route, doesn’t mean you’re going to get to where you want any later than the rest of your peers. You could’ve gone the state route, but by going to city you are wisely saving your family money, and that will help you out in the long run. There is nothing saying that state professors are any better than city. …Okay, I totally blacked out for a second, what just happened? Oh, um, they have cool toppings, 8 cool flavors, cool barista, and nice open eating area — perfect for that little after-school date you’ve been playing out in your head for the past month…

This place was closed when I went to check it out a week ago. Looked like it was a board of health thing. I was pretty darn disappointed, but the falafel joint next door is delicious. I post to save other people the trip — I’d call first to see if they’ve reopened.(And it’s hard not to want to bypass considering).

Very easy to do. Take a cup and fill it with any flavor of yogurt you want. There are a number of topping to choose from to put on top or inside the yogurt. Not too pricy. I pretty much filled up my cup with some toppings and it was about 4.50… Not to mention the cups are pretty big compared to yogurtland

I haven’t completely made up my mind about this FROYO place. I wanted to visit at least 10 different places before writing a review on any of them, but I couldn’t leave the last review bye Deja S on top. I think at 33 cents per ounce, it is SLIGHTLYMOREEXPENSIVE than Yogurtland. Last time I checked Yogurtland was 30 cents per ounce. Whatever. Still a great deal. Their flavors were decent. I wish they had a few more choices. Same with the toppings. Dont expect to park in their private shared lot for long. I saw a guy marking my tires every few minutes to make sure I didn’t leave it long.(Im sure this is to prevent students from abusing this parking lot). But overall it hits the spot if you have froyo cravings in between class. I still dont know why people buy ANYTHING from the school cafeteria that overcharges for everything. I could get good food from a dozen places in the vicinity of this place and eat dessert here for the same amount of dough.

Good, cheap and clean! My favorite yogurt is «Taro». I have never seen it anywhere else but it is delicious. The place is new and very clean and the employees are super friendly which is hard to find in LA.

33 cents/oz yogurt and free wi-fi. Could be a potential hotspot for SMC students to study while getting their dessert on but unfortuantely no coffee to perk you up after a sugar crash. Of their rotating flavors they had for my classmates and me to try, I only found the Dulce de Leche to be their best flavor. It was creamy, rich, and full of great caramel taste. I found the other flavors to be unmemorable or too artificial tasting for me. As for topping choice, they had quite a number of wet and dry toppings to choose from that all looked very fresh.

Located on the corner of a tiny strip mall nearby Santa Monica College, this froyo place is highly visible compared to the neighboring stores due to its immaculate, bright lit, and spacious interior. The composition of the store has a self-serve layout with 10 flavors to choose from for 33 cents an ounce. Thanks to Ching T’s review, I’ve been here on separate occasions with Tony Y. Jr. and Ching T to weigh in on the quality of their froyo. Both visits combined, I’ve had the opportunity to try their pistachio, peanut butter, original tart, dulce de leche, vanilla, and taro froyo. Their flavors were on point with good depths and refreshing from one spoon to the next. I particularly enjoyed their pistachio, peanut butter and dulce de leche, but each were overshadowed by the taro flavor as it unprecedentedly captured the soft essences of real taro for an amazing full-body taste. Interestingly, they also have a good range of dry and fruit toppings to choose from and my selection of strawberries and mangoes were filled to the brim and both were fresh and sweet with good texture added to the mix. The reason why they didn’t receive a four stars rating is because their froyo was rough and slushy similar to Twist but not to the extent of the one experienced at Kuulture. It lacked the finesse body to match its wonderful flavors with few clumps discovered here and there. Service-wise, this has to be one of the friendliest and most accommodating froyo places I’ve visited. They were willing to stay open when I called within minutes of their closing time to let them know we were coming, and they also offer free wifi but the place is not conducive for studying since there is only one plug available nearby the entrance. Unlike their competitors, they encourage everyone to try as many flavors as possible to ease the selection process which often can be quite awkward at places that discourage sampling. Price-wise, it is still higher than Yogurtland but this could easily become«The Spot» if they can take steps to refine their froyo quality to match its amazing flavors. I hope to come back for more.

After having dinner, something sweet usually«hits the spot». We hit the spot alright, by going to The Spot Yogurt. Thanks to a recent review of this place from fellow Unilocaler, Ching T., Daniel L. and I decided to give this place a try. While driving, Dan called from his cell phone to get their hours of operation, as it was nearing 10pm. The owner said they close in less than 20 minutes but also said he would wait for us to get there. We were simply amazed and shocked that the owner was willing to wait for us. As we drove onto the parking lot of this strip mall, we noticed the owner of The Spot making sure everything was in order in this bright, clean, and airy fro-yo place. We were greeted and welcomed at the door. This place is so clean, I think it’s the cleanest fro-yo place I’ve ever been in. Something that caught my eye, and stole the show, was the hand sanitizer next to the cups. After seeing that, I almost gave the owner a high-five for promoting cleanliness. As for the actual fro-yo, I must start by saying its only 33¢ per ounce. Some of the refreshing flavors are: Mango Tango, Original Tart, Dulce de Leche, Taro, and Green Apple Tart. For those that love to adorn your fro-yo with toppings, well, there’s a myriad of new toppings such as the Chocolate Rocks, Yogurt Chips, Coconut, and many sweet others. Also, they have non-fat and dairy-free fro-yo. I enjoyed my sweet treat, but can’t say that I experienced a life-changing moment as I was eating the fro-yo. However, it was certainly good and refreshing. The Spot did hit the spot for me that evening. More than anything, I was thoroughly impressed with the owner for waiting for us to arrive, although he was about to close. In addition, he was most friendly, suggestive and, somewhat, comical, as he allowed us to take pictures but hinted that he didn’t want to be in the pictures. If ever I’m in this area again, I’m sure I’ll be patronizing The Spot Yogurt.

When this place opened up, I thought to myself«Oh it’s just another yogurt place.» But then I went there with my friends and then I realized just how awesome this place is. I mean, their yogurt has amazing texture. I mean, it’s so smooth and creamy it doesn’t even taste like froyo! It tastes like ICECREAM. I was especially blown away when I tried their Taro flavor. Now all I want to eat is Taro froyo! And they have some really amazing topping choices! Like CHOCOLATEROCKS! I mean, what other froyo place has CHOCOLATEROCKS!!! And they’re delicious, too! They’re really clean, and the people who work there are really friendly. It’s a really good deal, too! The only thing that disappointed me is that they don’t serve lychee berries… but that isn’t really important because everything else is amazing: D I definitely recommend this place!!!
