Ron and Susan are co-​owners of The Passaro Group, Inc.

Having been thrust into the task several years ago of finding appropriate care for Susan’s ailing father, we know firsthand the emotional distress individuals and families go through when faced with the prospect of finding the right elder care facility. There are literally hundreds to choose from in the L.A. area alone and we were not guided properly to find the best care options for our family member. It became clear that the type of assistance we were receiving wasn’t helping us.

That’s why we started our service, to be that valuable resource for families like us.

Ron spent the past 20 years in medical sales selling into the Southern California hospital marketplace before changing course to assist seniors and their families in 2011. Susan’s background is in Interior Design where she spent the past 20 years designing spaces for residential, commercial and hospitality clients.

I found the Passaro Group via the skilled nursing facility in Santa Monica where my father was staying. I had the pleasure of meeting Ron Passaro and then speaking to his wife, Susan over the phone.
Ron really educated me on things I had no idea about regarding the caregiver industry. You knwo the reason why Ron and Susan both got started in this business was because Susan had a parent who was ill and needed a caregiver. They had to navigate through the system and research and do everything on their own. What they learned through that experience, is now shared with families like myself who had to go through this process.
And it is a hard process to try and understand. With there being so many agencies out there, you have no idea what’s going to work and what isn’t going to work. Ron and Susan both helped me immensely. They provided a few agencies for me to speak and meet with. They contacted the agencies, alerted them to my dad’s situation and then I went from there.
Ron and Susan explained to me that many agencies have a great marketing rep they send out that will make promises and say «yes» to a lot. But it’s the actual caregivers that you need to meet, interview and sit down with in order to select who is going to be the best match for your loved one.
I am really thankful for their listening skills, advice and offerings. They only recommend agencies that they know offer wonderful care. Otherwise, they will not recommend them. That made me feel at ease. They talk to you about how they select agencies and the criteria for why they recommend them.
Ron and Susan referred me to Mom’s Home Care, which turned out to be FANTASTIC. If it wasn’t for Ron and Susan, I think I would have hired an agency that overpromised and under delivered. I am just so thankful for all they did for me and my dad during that difficult time. Thanks Ron and Susan. Keep up the amazing work you do!

When it came time for my mother to move from her apartment to an assisted living facility the hospital put me in touch with Ron Passaro. Ron reviewed her medical records and interviewed her. He then recommended three facilities, all appropriate and in my limited budget. He met me at the facilities and guided me in my inspection so I didn’t miss anything. We settled on one and that was it, thanks to Ron, whose experience, judgment, and compassion allowed him to make a gut wrenching process simple.

I can not say enough good things about my experience with Ron Passaro. I was in a difficult situation, needing to help an elderly friend who has Alzheimer’s and lives alone. His only relatives live back East and he had told them he was ok and not to come. He fell on the sidewalk, cut open his face and went to ER. I asked them to admit him because he had many medical issues that needed to be checked out. After 5 days there, he was transferred to a rehab care facility. His 20 days covered by Medicare were quickly being used up and he has limited financial resources. I had to quickly find him a board and care that is not too far away and had an available bed. A friend who works in the health care business recommended Ron. I called him and told him of our situation and within a couple of days he found us a lovely place and helped by dealing with both the admin. at the Board and Care and with the social worker at the rehab to set up my friend’s discharge and transfer to his new home. Ron is very knowledgeable, helpful and caring. He was certainly my angel.

I am thrilled to add to the many wonderful reviews here about Ron and The Passaro Group! As many children of elderly parents find themselves, we were on a very short timeline to find a specialized dementia care facility for my Dad, who was hospitalized and no longer able to live in his independent living apartment. After just one call to Ron, we already felt at ease and encouraged that a solution was within our grasp. Ron took the time to listen and learn as much as he could about my father and within hours of our conversation had several options for us to consider.
I will say that my Dad, due to his size and circumstances, was not the easiest senior to find the right match for but Ron never gave up, treated me like a member of his own family and supported me until we found the PERFECT spot! You just know after speaking with Ron, that his work is a labor of love. He truly help us in ways beyond our expectations.
It is easy to see that through his good work ethic and determination, Ron has gained a well respected reputation in the retirement health care community and was able to open many doors for us that we would never have been aware of. If you are in a similar situation and looking for a champion for your elderly parent, pick up the phone because The Passaro Group will be your first and last call to find a happy ending for your loved one.

I wanted to write a review for the Passaro Group. My Mom’s 91 and I needed to get her a new place to live in LA, from Mesa, AZ. I was overwhelmed with where to go, who to talk with, pricing, care, etc. Fortunately someone told me about Ron Passaro and the Passaro Group. He educated me to the things to watch out for, how to determine what level of care my Mom would need, what things are necessary to look at regarding her level of care, and so on. He then found out the financial resources of my family, what funding resources were available and what assisted living situations would best suit my Mom’s needs. He then matched us up with appropriate resources, arranged tours for us and helped us find the best place for our Mom. I’m indebted to the Passaro Group for helping turn an overwhelming situation into a manageable one and getting our Mom into a place where she feels comfortable and we feel comfortable as well. I recommend the Passaro Group without reservation for any help you may need in securing a clean, healthy, safe and vibrant living environment for a senior in your family who needs assistance.

Ron is an excellent resource. I reached out to him, prior to really needing his services, and he took a lot of time to explain what he does. There was no pressure. He offered to call me within whatever time period I thought would be appropriate — 30 days, 60 days, etc. I didn’t think assisted living for my mother was that imminent, but her physical condition declined rapidly. Being able to afford assisted living was a big concern yet Ron told me I would have good options. He recommended two places that were in the neighborhood and price range and we ended up going with his first recommendation, which we’re really happy with. It is much nicer than we expected would be affordable. Ron is accessible and reliable. I recommend him highly.

Unfortunately, there will come a time when children have to take care of their parents in the later years. This will usually come after a surprise hospitalization and when it’s time to locate placement for your parents, social services at the hospital will tell you they will give you resources but those resources are useless. The resources they give you will be a roster of 100+ care facilities and this is when you will feel totally helpless. This was my story. Fortunately, I was very lucky to connect with the Passaro Group. They provide you the insider assistance you need to care for your parents. After meeting with them, within a day I had a great place for my mom. The Passaro Group does not charge families, they collect their fee from the facilities. More importantly, you tell the Passaro team your budget and what you want for your parents and they guide you through this tough time. The Passaro Group not only support’s your parent, but they provide you the support you need during this time. I cannot state enough how grateful I am for finding the Passaro Group. If you are faced with finding full time care for your parents, use the Passaro group to support you and find the best place for your parent.

I worked with Ron Passaro of the Passaro Group when I was looking for a Board and Care for my Mother. Ron was awesome. I had previously worked with a larger company when my mother first moved to Independent Living a few years ago and I found the experience frustrating, hollow, and depressing. I was looking for a smaller business to work with. I wanted the experience to be pleasant (or as pleasant as possible) and I wanted to work with someone who knew what was available on the market, and who could make this difficult process more personal keeping in mind who my mother is, what her needs are and will be in the future, as well as our finances. Ron met all of our needs and more. He knows the business inside and out. He really listened to who my mom was and now is. He was respectful of her when he met her and treated her like an adult who had a choice to make. He did not take me to places that we could not afford. He hit the nail on the head and knew what we needed even before we did. And then he negotiated on our behalf to bring the price to where we could manage. In a very short period of time it felt like he became a friend. I totally trust this man. He is amazing and kind and knowledgeable and everyone with an aging parent should have Ron Passaro in their life.

My brother and I had a short time available to find a new assisted living community for our mother. She had been hospitalized for a bout of pneumonia, and as she was recovering it became clear that her existing apartment and caregivers were no longer appropriate. We wanted to find a new home for her while she was still in recovery so that she wouldn’t have to move twice.
Ron Pasaro was a matchless resource during this time. He spent the time to get to know us and my mother’s situation. He reviewed the research we’d already done, and brought in some new options. He helped us think through the most important priorities, accompanied us on visits, and gave us perspective. Once we made a decision, he was able to facilitate the paperwork and logistics to help the move happen on time. Most importantly, our mother is very pleased with the new community, and we are very happy to know that she’s being taken care of appropriately.

Well first of all I have to say Ron is my hero. My sister and I have been unsure and confused about what to do next after rehab. My 86 year old mother has many health issues. Ron came to the rescue. We dont know what we would have done without him. He took us to view several group homes and found us the perfect place. I cannot say enough good things. He is a wonderful caring human being and I am grateful If you need help with a loved one this is hands down the person to talk to.

Ron was kind, patience and gave us great options in helping us place our Mother in a group home. He dealt with all of the different personalities and input our family brought to the table in this difficult and somewhat challenging circumstance of having to move a family member out of her home of over 30 years and into a new residence. He listened and he delivered exactly what was the best place for her.
We were given a few options to choose from and all were great. In the end we found the perfect fit and our Mom is stronger and healthier than she was prior to the move.
