Tailored Tutoring

Tailored Tutoring was the 3^rd tutoring organization I ever tutored for, in my tutoring background. I am currently a USC student, studying to get an MAT in Multiple Subjects Elementary level. I met Evan, I believe he is co-​owner of this tutoring service, one Saturday morning. The hiring process was weird, I didn’t get any papers or forms to fill out and the hiring was just based on a word bases: which was my mistake in the first place. Evan told me that he will continue the hiring process based on the outcome of my tutoring sessions with the first client he gave me: illegal hiring process from what I know now. The first week of tutoring I became ill from gastritis, I still was able to make the tutoring session with my first Spanish tutor client for the first weekend of tutoring. The 2^nd week, I had to skip on a 2^nd client due to the gastritis acting up and a severe attack, Evan replied with an unprofessional reply of, «We lost a client. I will not send you the hiring forms until we see a positive outcome from you. Way to get on my bad side buddy.» This was a negative sign for me that this business cares more about getting money and not their tutors, I should’ve left this organization as soon as I notice that kind of a reply. Back to the family, the client was well mannered and from a middle class family, the family was very goal oriented and wanted their child to get great grades, A’s, in Spanish. The family was great, the problem was that the unrealistic goal of raising their child’s Spanish language skills to getting A’s, in HS level Spanish, was unreachable in 3 weeks. This was the goal that the parents and the tutoring service set upon my back. I tried my best to help the client’s teen, but I was only able to keep their grades to B’s. Sadly, the parents were not happy with the results and they discontinued my tutoring services. Evan, decided to let me know from a text, and basically said that he will keep me posted on any outcomes. That was 3 months ago, no check and no update. I decided to write this Unilocal,because I felt that this organization uses poor college student and graduate students to work for them. We can not really sue this tutoring service for any claims, since there is no proof that I worked for them. (no hiring papers) The only thing I can do is write a review on Unilocal,and hope that people read it. Especially those who are looking for tutoring positions. A pointer to them, Please! do not apply to this tutoring service provider! they will just make you work for 3 weeks for free, and decided if they want to hire you or not after: illegal manner of hiring people.

Words do not have the capacity to describe how disgusting and what a disgrace this business is. Why it still exists should be on the top list of the 7 wonders of the modern world.
First of all: the owners last name truly describes his personality: a boor… in addition to being extremely dishonest and completely ignorant of his clients needs. He just has his eyes on the money and does not care about the individual… what a sad and pathetic way to run a business. I’ll substantiate my claim below:
The tutor that this boor recommended and sent to me was completely incompetent in the subject of precalc and smelled like rotten curry blended with coffee: the stench of the tutors B.O. petrified me. But I tolerated that because she seemed nice and somewhat caring but the whole session felt completely rushed, I definitely didn’t get my moneys worth. The tutor was a nice person I’m sure but she seemed so anxious to get out and stuttered at every other word that I did not learn a thing. I requested to boor to partially refund me for a terrible session considering that I had a test the next day and paid a great deal of money… yet he selfishly refused. I tried to negotiate with him for a lower price for another tutor to compensate for a bad session and he also refused. He does not care at all.
Avoid at all cost.

Tutoring is great! Very flexible and accommodating. They know their stuff. OUTSTANDING for SAT and ACT tutoring!!!
