TAG Gallery

My nonprofit recently held a cocktail event at TAG and I can’t say enough about how lovely Amy and the gallery are to work with. From the start of our discussions, Amy provided valuable insight and suggestions for table placement, rental companies, etc.
Given that we are a nonprofit, TAG worked with us on pricing and Amy even offered her services the night of the event since she would be there anyway!
We had approximately 125 guests and it was a perfect number for the space, didn’t feel cramped or too empty. The space is simple, yet contemporary and the art adds instant, free décor to any party.
I will definitely be working with TAG and Amy again!

I found the caliber of this year’s California Open Exhibition

I attended the opening reception for Carol Klein this past Saturday — a very talented artist. This was my first time attending an opening at an art gallery, so I was a bit apprehensive about the social climate. I thought the other people at the show might be stand-​offish; however, as soon my friends and I walked in, we were warmly greeted by the host of the show and taken to the refreshment table for some complimentary wine. I felt very welcome there — TAG is a small gallery with a homey feel to it. I liked the laid-​back atmosphere. Everyone was very nice, and very passionate about art. We were definitely the youngest of the crowd (a bunch of 20-​somethings), and yet everyone treated us with respect and were eager to listen to our opinions. I really enjoyed myself, and I plan on becoming a regular.

I stopped by on a friday night to see the Cuban photography exiibit that was opening that night for the photographer you see here.
I met Elizabeth Sadof the TAG director who had a party going on. I have been to alot of art openings in the past and I can say honestly, this one was the best one yet. More of a party than a art opening
The band was playing Cuban music, mojito’s and food were served.
The photography was very cool, you don’t often see a grandmother smoking a huge stoogie. Reminded me of my favorite photographer Diane Arbus. (If you have never seen her photographs in Aperture Monograph check it out) The rooms of the gallery had many works of the artists that belong to TAG .
Every summer they have The California Open Exibition .
This is a juried show that is open to any Southern California artists that can «Cut the Mustard» or as Jonesy says. Mustard or pants.
Their web site has the Prospectus for downloading a application.
Last year over 60 artists were juried into the show by the. internationally renowned artist, Laddie John Dill.
