These guys are awesome. Replaced the bumper on my 2010 Prius after a parking lot incident and it looks better than new.
Reasonably priced, fast service, very trustworthy.
A definite recommend!

These guys did a great job on my Lexus. So from a workman-​ship perspective I am very happy with their work.
Like others have said before, when you get a «due-​date» add in a few extra days to be on the safe side. Seems it’s that way with a lot of companies around Santa Monica. I expected that to happen so was good with my car being there a little longer than quoted.
The nice thing was they called me every couple of days with updates so I knew what was happening, and if there were delays.

I thought this place was great. They were super-​prompt and really helpful all the way through. I’d go back.

1 star. Sunshine used to be Holmes in Santa Monica. I know different people with rather positive experiences several years ago so I went there when I needed body work. Initially, things appeared to be on the right track with a phone call every other day to let me know the status of repairs and parts coming in. Ultimately, the repair took longer than expected and the bottom line is that there were a few things that were not done right. Hence, my experience has been less than satisfactory. It appears there is little or no quality control before they hand the car back, so the car stays in the shop and they call you and let you know it’s done. Then you take a look and there are multiple things that still needed to be taken care of. Some parts were even left in the car. A company that holds high ethical standards and cares about its reputation ought to be bending over backwards to make things right. I have found no evidence of such effort or gestures in kind.
Verdict: Unless you are okay with making lots of return visits for the same things that were not done right the first time, look elsewhere. I wish I could give it a higher rating, but I am done spending time to cover for less than stellar worksmanship time after time. «Eek! Methinks not.»

Welp, its official. This is now MY go to place. Originally headed there to get my car (a 4Runner) fixed after some rear end damage. Got a little miffed because they had the car a few extra days (because there was more damage than originally thought and they had to wait for a part) but was really really pleased with the results and felt a little silly for making somewhat of a big deal about the timing issue.
So when some idiot pushed something against my wife’s car in the parking lot of some random place in Torrance and she was going to take it to the dealer I thought, let me just take it over to Holmes and see what they think and if they can fix it. I was a little sheepish due to my impatience the previous time. Maybe, I figured, they wouldn’t remember me.
Well they DID remember me and not only did they fix it, they did it FOR FREE and ON THE SPOT. Turns out that there were no dents just a LOT of nasty acryllic paint along the side. The guy helping me didn’t for a second try to spin it and ran to the back and got some fancy paint remover and applied it FOR FREE. No sell, no spin, just «glad to help and let us know if there’s anything else».
Well (as usually is the case) turns out there is. My wife’s car now has a real dent now which we need fixed and of course I headed back to Holmes. Dennis came out to do the estimate and new exactly what to look for and how much it would be. Gave me the worst case estimate and said if we can do it for less than this we will, but wanted you to know the full possible extent. Turns out his father’s Japanese and we had a great chat about we’re I’d bit and his family history and how crazy it was that he had to go!
Anyway, point is– great (and honest) customer service, great WORK and its really close by (for me anyway). Glad I paid attention to the other reviews the first time (thanks AJ, Kitty, etc.) and now feel inclined to write one of my own.
Nice to find establishments like this.

Update: In taking the car back to have the paint fixed, the manager at the shop (and others) were rude and uncooperative, as if it was my fault that they messed up!

I took my first/​old car to this place when I had my first accident (not my fault) and I would say I was pleased with the results. I, of course, know nothing about cars except that, after an accident, I just want my car back as fast as possible. I had the car returned to me in a relatively short period of time and their front desk customer service was nice. The repairmen were nice too. I liked their lifetime (?) guarantee on the bodywork.
Now, when I got my second vehicle, and got into another accident (again, not my fault), the damage was substantial and the return of my car took more than a month. I understand it takes a while, but I cannot even remember how many «it’ll be done tomorrow, hopefully» messages I got. While the level of customer service wasn’t as great as my first experience there, I can also say that the quality of work wasn’t as great either. The first thing I noticed (and had to take care of myself, when i got home) was the sloppy work done in the back seat, where the seatbelt buckle was stuck underneath the seat. Second thing, that I didn’t notice until much much later, was that my driver side mirror (where the damage was) didn’t function! I took it back and apparently a cable/​wire wasn’t connected. They fixed it as part of the warranty, but it was still inconvenient for me to take it back. They should have made sure everything was working properly before releasing the car.

They did a great job on my car, but held it a week over what they originally told me. I had to pay an extra week for a rental bc of this and, needless to say, wasn’t too happy. BUT– they did an excellent job repairing my car.
on another note, my brother brought his car in for minor dents and they had it finished early. So, you never know.

When I originally got my estimate, it was for some damage on the left side of my front bumper. Well holy hell, when I pulled up in the morning to turn in my car, they noticed another scrape, this time on the right side of my front bumper! Apparently, between the estimate and the scheduled drop-​off, I got another boo-​boo on my bumper. Boo! I have it narrowed down to either valet on Saturday night or parking at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday evening. That little mar brought my estimate up another $ 50. Balderdash! (I’ve always wanted to say that)
So Monday and Tuesday I was sans car and bumming rides from my girl B to and from work… sadness abounded. I was told that realistically my car would be ready on Thursday. Imagine my surprise when I got a call from the shop on Wednesday morning and told it would be ready that afternoon!
I arrived shortly after 5pm only to see my precious car looking like new again… well, it’s a 2008, so it better… but now it’s immaculate. Joy! I went in, had a pleasant conversation with Gilbert about how much care they put to making sure I got my vehicle back in great shape, and then I paid my bill.
Stepping back inside my car, I noticed that they detailed the crap out of the inside and outside, and did a tremendous job of it at that. Not only that, they found my sunglasses and put them in the glove. How’s that for service?
I don’t ever want to see these guys again in that I don’t want anything to happen to my car to warrant another trip here, but at least I will know where to go if I fall into any more misfortune.
Great service, high quality workmanship, excellent consumer care. 5 stars.

This place sucks. I’m very unhappy with the customer service. They won’t return phone calls, are taking forever to get the work done, and I feel like I’m being taken advantage of with the price. I haven’t gotten my car back yet, (almost 2 weeks) and I definitely encourage you to go with a different body shop.
