I’ve literally seen over 100 doctors. ONE HUNDRED. I visited Stephanie at her practice and immediately felt a sense of peace, patience and love but her and the entire staff! I wasn’t #37. My name didnt pop up on a board. I didn’t wait for an hour. Nor did I get rushed through my visit. My voice. My pain. My life. Was heard. Individually! And if you have ever been through the system, like I have, you know how amazing; having your voice herd, can be!

First I want to start off by saying I’m not much for posting reviews unless I really think it’s worth sharing.
Stephanie has been treating me for years ranging from sport injuries to illnesses. With all the activities I’m involved in, I admit that I can be clumsy sometimes, but it’s always re-​assuring to know she’s just a phone call away and my insurance covers it.
One of her greatest traits that sets her apart from other acupuncturist I’ve been to is she has great bed side manner, she educates you in understanding what’s causing your issues, what you need to do to prevent it in the future and keeps you informed throughout the entire process so you’re not wondering, what’s next. Being that she has knowledge of Western medicine, it’s great to deal with someone that see’s it from both sides, and address the pro’s and con’s to both worlds and provide a holistic approach to treatment.
In addition she’s able to relate to a lot of the issues that I experience being that she stays active herself and understands the mechanics of the human body.
She asks the right questions to understand and pinpoint your specific issues before diving into treatment. Everything she does is personalized to ensure you get the right treatment.
What really tipped me over to the Chinese Medicine side was when I had a relatively bad fever that just wouldn’t go away, I was out for a few days. I went to see Stephanie and she gave me an herbal formula, (which didn’t taste very good, but then again what medicine does) but it worked! Within a couple days, I finally started to see a turn towards recovery and best of all I didn’t have to pop any pills that my doctor would’ve probably given me and called it a day. The plus, she followed up to make sure I was feeling better.

Steph has helped me wtih all my aches and pains and I do have a lot of them. From lingering volleyball injuries that are pretty much non-​existent now and from reviving me from death when i got sick. She has made me 110%…time to go hurt myself some more knowing that she’ll fix me! WOO WOO!

Wow am I long overdue in writing a review for Dr. Yong! I’ve visited her practice a number of times for various ailments and I will say that out of the 4 different acupuncturists I have ever tried, she is the only one I found that consistently fixes my issues.
Recently I went in the day before I had a powerlifting meet because my elbow wasn’t feeling quite right. She worked her magic and sent me on my way. The day of the meet, my elbow felt bruised from the work she did and I was concerned it would negatively affect my performance. Quite to the contrary, my elbow never failed me and while the surface felt bruised, my elbow was painless during my lifts — which was what was most important to me. (Note: she’ll taper the intensity of her treatment to your individual pain level. She knows I need a heavier hand.)
Specifically of interest to athletic clients, Stephanie has a very thorough knowledge of kinesiology which helps her effectively address their unique concerns. She has been able to pinpoint the exact underlying cause of my various ailments which have often stumped other professionals I have seen. She is also not the type of doctor to give a blanket recommendation to avoid all movement, which is much appreciated. (If you’re an athlete, you know how annoying it is when you get treated the same as an 80-​year old!)
Bottom line — I highly recommend making an appointment if you’re shopping around for acupuncture. You won’t be disappointed!

I heart acupuncture. I’ll pause here and throw a special message in. To CrossFIt athletes, sports enthusiasts or gym junkies, Dr. Yong knows what’s up! She is an avid CrossFitter and she is all about the snowboarding! She knows what we put our bodies through. I tell her a pain happens when I do kettle bell swings and she totally gets it; because let’s face it, my powers of communication suck when it comes to explaining some owies.
I’ve been using acupuncture for several years on and off, mostly off. I’ve been everywhere from a room in a basement to high end offices that charge waaaay too much. In the past, acupuncture has helped me with insomnia, anxiety and back pain. Most recently I found myself yearning for it again as a shoulder injury I ignored a few months ago has come back to haunt me. I was directed to Dr. Stephanie Yong by my friends whom I workout with. Magic! Well at least on the way to magic. She works out of two offices, this one in El Segundo is across the street from Cooke’s Market and has plenty of 2 hour street parking. Her office accepts PPO insurance so there may be a cost but it’s minimal compared to the relief you will get.
Dr. Yong is pretty flexible with her hours and she explains absolutely everything, good for you first timers! She is gentle and her office is always super cozy warm and peaceful. Water and hot tea are offered to further relax you after a session.
