This firm is an absolute disgrace to lawyers. Horrible communication with clients. Clients are not kept informed about their cases. You hire Carney Shegerian, and aside from an initial conference, you will never see him again. Instead, you will be stuck dealing with young attorneys who have only been practicing for under 2 years. They will not fight for you if they don’t estimate that your case will make millions.

My interaction with this office was a very bad one. They had a guy who didn’t know what he was doing spent 45 minutes on intake, asking me the same question 3 to 4 times, and I got an email from them several days later stating that they were not interested in the case. No one with any legal knowledge was available to discuss any details. If you’re going to cherry pick cases and crying to have a 95% success rate, what good is that

I presented administrative assistant Stephanie of Shegerian & Associates with my wrongful termination & whistleblower case in January ’16. It was the first time in my 25 year biotech career that I had to seek legal counsel. While I was lucky enough to have 5 different TOP law firms wanting my case, I made the mistake of quickly signing on with Shegerian & Associates. I made this decision based on Carney Shegerian’s «rating» as a trial attorney. At the time, I had no idea how easily these rating sites could be manipulated to shape public opinion. Essentially, the employees and family members can sign in and write a «review.» One site specific to attorney ratings allows the attorney to buy a certain status to make them appear more celebrated than another. Needless-​to-​say, I also had no idea the pure nightmare that was to follow. After reading the reviews on this site I feel it would be irresponsible of me to not write up my experience. If I can spare even one potential client the pain and suffering that I have been through the last 3 months then I have done my job. To summarize, once Shegerian & Associates got me to sign the contract they cut off communication with me completely. It is important to note, I totally understand that cases are handled in the order in which they were received. However, the one and only thing the firm did do is fire off a letter to my former employer requesting my personal file and warning them not to have any communication with me. That all communication had to go through them. This was a reasonable request except my former company still owed me nearly $ 5000 for an Amex Expense Report that they had not paid. Since I was not supposed to be communicating with them, I reached out to Shegerian and Associates (Stephanie) to assist, she assured me she would handle it to the first attorney I was assigned but then did nothing. For THREE MONTHS I pleaded for assistance but no one would return my calls or emails. I left messages on the company website… still nothing. For THREE MONTHS, I asked to speak with my attorney and on 4 different occasions I was given someone new that was assigned my case. 4 different attorney’s within 3 months were supposedly assigned my case… each having less experience than the other. The last attorney they assigned me just graduated (I looked her up on LinkedIn) and no one at the front desk or Shegerian Associates 1 – 800 number have ever heard of her! That’s right, when I called the front desk and the 800 number, the secretaries state there is «no such person at the firm. Well, so here I am 3 months later, my corporate Amex has been canceled and I have been sent to collections, I still have yet to have even one meeting with an attorney. I call both the 800 and front desk number again… after being passed around from one secretary to another, from the answering service in Connecticut to the front desk in Santa Monica, I get a very rough around the edges power tripping receptionist by the name of Dio who could not have been more unsympathetic or nasty. Here you have an award winning trial attorney being represented by the likes of Dio. After the way she spoke to me I was done. I have lost three months and all this office has don his hurt me and my ability to get another job. In closing, it is important to note that I begged for a 5 minute meeting with Carney Shegerian but was ignored. No call, nothing. I sent a letter terminating our relationship due to 3 months of being ignored, neglected and misrepresented. My advice, is that if you have a big case, go to a law firm where you are allowed to meet and work with one of the main partners in the firm. If not, do not sign anything and move on.

I have so much to say about Carney Shegerian and the Shegerian & Associates Law Firm; I don’t want to leave anything out.
I am really short of enough kind words to explain the wonders of Carney Shegerian. He is very intelligent, trustworthy, sharp, caring, thoughtful, considerate and a lot more. He is one of a kind, extraordinary awesome lawyer. He is absolutely the best of the best and I truly believe this. He loves what he does and it shows in his success. He is very compassionate about his clients. He listens to your concerns, no matter how crazy you think they are, he feels and knows what you have been through. He fights for you with all his being. Never tires, never gives up, he is dedicated to your cause till the end. That is true compassion and that’s why he has yet to lose a case, which I know will never happen. No wonder he was chosen the Trial Lawyer of the Year for 2013. This is a well-​deserved award only given to the astonishing Best and Carney Shegerian is that lawyer.
I also want to mention my experience with his law firm. I have never seen an office working in complete harmony like the Shegerian & Associates Law Firm. When you call with a question, you are guaranteed to get a call back with an answer. It has been such a pleasant experience working with the Shegerian & Associates Law Firm; the office personnel is courteous, competent, well informed, respectful and everything you expect when you have fallen so deep and you need someone to pull you up. That’s exactly what they do.
