Dr. Huyn and Mark are the best. I had an appointment at 430 and i came in at 3pm to see if I can get my appointment sooner and they immediately helped me out. I was in and out in like 10 minutes and that included getting my exam for contact lenses and the exam includes eyeglasses too. This is the best optical place in all of Southern California. Thanks so much. I will reccomend to all my friends.

Sears has been my regular optician since 2008. The eye exam is reasonable priced. The selection is vast and priced lower than almost all competitors. Best of all, the service is excellent. Brandi and Karlissa are very helpful.

Do believe in miracles but it’s a mystery how this place still open. Great doctors if you need you eyes checked. Went to pick up my contact lenses they were closed for lunch. Did order contacts manager had told me they don’t carry any stock (?) gave me replacement pair for –3.50 when my prescription is –3.75 sure it’s not much of a difference (?) have been loyal customer for years but on look out for different optical at this point. Sad sad sad ;(

Wow. I am pleased and haaaaappy with my visit last friday:) Dr. H was friendly and did a great job explaining everything to me.(I found out I had astigmatism). Brandy was awsoooome too! Although I had my eyes set on a pair of glasses I had seen online– (funny story: she was wearing the exact same ones I wanted! She def. has great taste). Anyhow back to what I was saying. Yes! I had seen some glasses online I wanted to get but Brandy showed me others too. in the end I got 2 pairs!. She was very patient with me. Loved her customer service! Thank You Ladies for everthing!:)

I went for an annual exam in early December. Before I scheduled the appointment I asked for them to verify my insurance as it had changed since the previous time I was there. No one verified it and no one told me until after I saw the doctor and needed to pay. I paid everything out of pocket — the exam and glasses lenses, which totaled $ 271.00. I was told by the manager Brandi that my insurance did not cover anything.
I called my insurance representative and was told by them that I have full coverage — EVERYTHING SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED BY MY INSURANCE! I was then told that Brandi needed to file an insurance claim on my behalf for me to receive reimbursement from my insurance since I had paid everything out of pocket.
Brandi told me that she did not have the form and would get the form from my insurance company. After calling and calling to follow up to see if she had received the form and had filed the claim she told me that she had called them and had not received the form from them. I called my insurance representative and she had the form faxed to Brandi THAT DAY. I work 55+ hours a week, I don’t have time to be calling and doing Brandi’s job for her.
Brandi told me she had received the insurance form and would be sending it the next day. I received a voicemail from someone confirming that they had sent my insurance claim.
I called my insurance company 2 weeks after I was told by Sears Optical that it had been sent. My insurance had not received anything. I called Sears Optical and was told that Brandi would be in the next day. I called the next day and was told the exact same thing. This happened 4 days in a row. Brandi tells her employees to lie to customers and tell them she’ll be in the next day when she in fact will not.
It has almost been 3 weeks now since the claim was supposedly sent and NOTHING has been accomplished other than me following up with people who should have been doing their jobs in the first place.
I am EXTREMELY mad and will never be coming back to this store. You shouldn’t either, unless you want to pay everything out of pocket.

I would definitely come back to the Optical division of Sears because of Brandi. I am sorry to say this, but if you didn’t have her welcoming spirit, attitude and professionalism you would probably would not have as much business. She makes the business go round and round.

Imagine this: It’s late December. Every optometrist within a 15 mile radius is booked through the new year because people’s medical benefits expire at the end of the year.
At this point, I’d given up trying to get an exam. «Put it in your calendar next time, Felix. Let’s learn from this mistake.»
I worked down the street from Sears and decided to try my luck– and I’m glad I did.
Here’s how it went:
Brandi: «Hello, can I schedule an appointment for you today?»
Me: Really? I can get an exam TODAY?
Brandi: Yes!
An hour and a half later, I was greeted by the wonderful Brandi (more on her in a second) and Dr. Huyn, who was professional, courteous, and answered all my questions. Good exam. No hitches
Once I was done with the examination, I selected a few frames that I thought looked good on me. When I settled on some frames that were safe and didn’t look too different from the ones I came in with, I heard: «lemme take you to Brandiville.»
«Brandiville?» I asked. Before she could explain, I had another pair of glasses that I did not even consider trying on. They were subtle flairs to the glasses that Brandi pointed out. They were in my budget. They were perfect.
Brandiville is where she takes you to the edge of your comfort with new and exciting glasses that you never would have considered. Brandiville is a place where the only concern is that you look good in your specs. It’s up to you to make the leap.
I took the leap and am so glad I did. Go to Sears Optical for three reasons: great service, personalized attention, and Brandi.

Brandi is the most awesome person ever to grace the entire Sears building! She made the process painless and actually fun! I will keep coming back, great service and a very knowledgeable staff.

The manager Brandi is AMAZING! She cares about her patients, has an enthusiasm for life, and makes the whole experience absolutely easy. She also got me in for a same-​day appointment – which is tough at the end of the year (when everyone’s trying to spend their flex-​spending)– and knew who I was when I arrived.
In addition, the prices are incredibly competitive for the exam as well as for ordering contacts. No more mail order needed as I can go here to pick them up for the same price ;-)
I did see a substitute OD as the main doc was on vacation – that said, I won’t offer a review about the doctor since it’s not the person you’d likely see. Hence, taking off a star … however, she was fine and, most importantly, now I can see while driving!!!

One star is generous. 3 weeks following my order with Brandy (3 Saturdays ago) & 15 followup calls later (box had to be tracked multiple times with UPS/​USPS), my 2 pairs of glasses were received today in the mail. Apparently, Brandy’s «associate» -” forgot” to enter my unit number. Upon opening the 2^nd box, the glasses are a mess (I just removed glue from the part that fits over the ears; and the order specifications are clearly wrong). Needless to say, will be contacting AMEX for refund. Beyond horrible horrible service.

Dr Huyn is lovely and professional, but I will never return to Sears Optical. Every step of the process after my appointment with the doctor was frustrating, infuriating, and baffling, and I ended up with glasses of sub-​par quality.
I hadn’t intended on getting glasses there — just see the optometrist — but the optical employees (one was Mark — I don’t know the woman’s name) forgot to enclose my Rx in with my receipts, and then I had to make 2 trips back there to get it because they couldn’t find it the first time I went back for it, and they don’t have the capability to email from Sears.
I figured it was a fluke that they provided terrible customer service (I’m not one to post bad Unilocal reviews, and I always give people the benefit of the doubt), so I decided to get glasses there because they were having a sale. I ordered 2 pairs — one regular and one Rx sunglasses.
When I picked up my glasses a week later, they adjusted them to make them straight but they did not seem qualified to adjust them properly so they didn’t fall or slide off my face. I had already waited so long to be seen that day, that I ended up giving up on spending more time with them, and decided I’d go elsewhere to have them adjusted. Indeed, when I wore the regular glasses, they were too wide for my face and were sliding off my nose.
I paid for the anti-​glare, polarized lenses in the Rx sunglasses, but when I wore them in the sunshine I was still squinting, and they were very glarey. When I took them to Complete Eye Care in Mar Vista to have both pairs properly adjusted, we agreed the sunglass lenses were of cheap quality, and too big for my face, so I ended up buying a whole new pair at Complete Eye Center, and donating the ones I got at Sears.
So, what seemed like a good deal of 2 glasses for $ 360 at Sears ended up being such a time-​suck, so frustrating, and then I ended up spending another $ 250 on sunglasses (including frames) with much better quality lenses, and a wonderful experience.

I can’t say enough the team here. Dr. Huyn is the most AMAZING eye doc I’ve ever seen. She is wonderfully loving, kind, and super talented. I had an emergency (read: pretty much lost my vision in my right eye) and she patched me up and made me all better. I was terrified, but she took her time and was very patient with me. I went back several times during the process, and each time, I left feeling upbeat and hopeful. If you are having any kind of issue, or just want to get your checkup done, I’d recommend her a zillion times over. Plus she’s really sweet and crazy smart. Can’t beat that. Her teammate, Brandi, is amazeballs. They’re the Dynamic Duo. Brandi’s energy and personality made the terrifying visits fun. Plus she knows her stuff. I love them both. Thank you, ladies, for the support and for making me all better.

I walked into sears optical for an eye exam and was blown away by the exceptional customer service provided by Brandi. Also Dr. huyn made me feel comfortable while conducting my eye exam. I definitely recommend anyone who is looking for a great optometrist for a reasonable price, go here.

The staff at this location make you feel comfortable and at home. I had an easy, flawless experience and was in and out in half an hour. Dr. Chan was knowledgeable and friendly and made me feel like I was getting a very thorough examination. I highly recommend this office for all of your eye care needs.

TL;DR Dr. Huyn is fantastic.
I decided (very, very last minute) that I needed new glasses before a big vacation coming up in two weeks. The guy who answered the phone when I called (I wish I remembered his name!) was super polite and got me an appointment an hour from when I called.
Traffic was worse than I expected and I wound up being almost a half hour late. They took me anyway without saying a word. Granted, they were pretty much dead, so I wasn’t taking anybody else’s time.
Dr. Huyn was super gentle, took her time and explained my new prescription to me. She exceeded my expectations in every way.
I always order my glasses online, but I still had fun trying on new frames afterwards. The sales guy was kind, not too pushy, and wrote down the pairs that I liked in case I want to come back.
The only thing people without vision insurance should be aware of is the price. $ 59 is for a «standard» exam. Tack on an extra $ 40 if you want your pupils dilated (completely recommended) and another $ 20 if you want an extra test that I can’t recall off the top of my head. The service was so great that I didn’t mind the bill (~$ 110 since I decided to go for the dilation just to make sure everything was okay).
I’d definitely recommend a visit if you need a new prescription fast but still want to have a good experience.

Visited Dr. Chan and Brandi for a exam and left really happy with the service!
Very thorough and detailed to make me feel at ease about everything. Definitely will be going back in the future!

Wrong Prescriptions and Still Waiting for Glasses after 4 months of ordering???
We went to Dr Andrea Huyn, Santa Monica Sears Optical on 10÷29÷14 to get an eye exam for my daugther. Dr Huyn wasn’t there. A very rude substitute male doctor tried to get me to exam at same time when I mentioned I might need to do a different time and not in a hurry. Anyway that doctor tried to push both of us into same room and got exam for us rushy and rudely. With his rude manner he was pointing around ordering to my daughter and me to switch places back and forth quickly like a military training. He never said hi but just gave us attitude like we were begging him for food. He lacks of having a character of a regular calm good doctor in opposite, no smiles, dictator like and no patience. He was very rude, and kept sighing when I just missed the looking point where he wanted me to look at but he himself wasn’t clear enough of explanation where he wanted me to look at.
It took him so long pointing super bright light directly into my eyes. I used to have this kind of exam before but none of them harsh like this exam. My eyes were so burnt that got tears in them. But he didn’t’ even care to see that, in opposite kept rushing, forcing me to stare at the bright light longer than 15 minutes. I thought I already went blind as i got foggy sight in my eyes and couldn’t see things for a big while and felt numb in my eyes after. I could have got damaged in my eyes already from that such a prolong staring at that light. This is the worst experience of eye exam after 53 years old of my life.
After done the exam, me and my daughter felt so relief but what came after that was shocking, when the perscripted contact lens arrived. My daughter couldn’t even wear those lens as her eyes as they made her sight all blurry!!!
We found that it was wrong prescription resulting from that substitute doctor who did a big rush job on that day! (just to make 2 times money from clients in an hour).
We tried to contact Sears to get a new exam as my daughter need to use at school everyday. Her prescription for glasses also wrong. They said they will replace both and will call us with a new appointment for eye exam when the new glasses arrived.
Time passed by… but after over a month no one from sears called. 2 months past by nothing happened, so we contacted them again by walking in this time to ask.
A lady there said they «forgot» to order… and promise to do it this time asap. But do you believe me? It turned now to be laughable cause from that day until today, which has been already 4 months already… and …still, no one has contacted us EVER!
No call, no nothing from Sears Optical. We are so surprised of what they do… and what is really happening? By the end, I don’t think we can get our money back anymore, except to keep calling them and keep being patient until they will be kind enough to take care of this for us. We paid a lot of money for 2 expensive eye exams and glasses.
While I was frustrated about my daughter that she’s having problem: can’t study properly at school from not seeing the board clearly, I just found out the next disaster that MY CONTACT LENS PRESCRIPTION from that doctor was WRONG too!!! Wowww
I didn’t’ use contact lens that often and just ordered lens not too long ago that why I just found out about it. This is so terrible that I found my ordered pack of lens has a wrong perception similar problem of my daughter’s and I can’t even use a single pair from the whole pack as they made my sight all blurry and dizzy.
Right now I’m giving up calling them and have my conclusion just to stay away as far as I can from this sears place. I will find a new good eye exam somewhere else.
But for my daughter, it’s not fair at all for her. Why would they ignore a 16 years old girl who had to walk there from her school just to ask for her new prescription but never get anything back.
We paid for them expensively and they should be responsible for their mistakes, shouldn’t they?
Will there be any sears person to fix this problem please?

500 stars for Brandi! Warm, lovely, impeccable customer service. She made what is often a traumatizing experience (on my sanity and pocketbook) into something fun and cost-​effective.
The exam was fast and comfortable. The type of progressive lenses I need are expensive — usually in the $ 575 range at other optical shops. At Sears, my lenses cost $ 400 (without the frames). Sears was having a «buy one get one free sale,» and I walked out with two new frames plus the prescription lenses for both pairs for less than $ 600 (including the exam)! Normally, this would cost me upwards of $ 1,300 elsewhere.
The hardest part of selecting new frames: I can’t see what they look like on my face in the mirror, as I’m blind as a bat. While Sears doesn’t have the broadest selection of designer frames, I found several chic pairs. Brandi knew the look I was going for, and she gave me her honest opinion on which looked the best on my face shape. She didn’t try to «sell» me on pricier frames.
With my Auto Club membership, I got a 15% discount. Plus, Sears give you 2 hour free parking.
Brandi’s is so nice and cool that I’d go back just to hang out with her. Incredible service.

I went for the buy one get one free glasses sale. I heard sears glasses were economical.
My first sales associate was not very helpful, in fact she misquoted prices so I eneded up only buying one pair. I was quoted a week but it took ten days. When I pick up the glasses a new associate was very helpful, checking and double checking the prices and options. In the end I got a second pair of ray Ban sunglasses for $ 115, or $ 232 for two pairs, much better. This person then quoted 10 days… Hmmmn. A lot of difference a day, or Different Associate can make. It went from a 3 star to 4 star experience.
