Santa Monica Playhouse is a theatrical and educational organization, internationally acclaimed for providing unique and unusual professional theater productions, experimental and original performance art and personal exploration in collaboration with independent, experimental and student works in various stages of development. Meet the Business Owner
Evelyn Rudie and Chris DeCarlo.
Business Owner
Evelyn Rudie began her career at age 3 and won an Emmy nomination at 5 for her portrayal of Eloise on TV’S Playhouse 90, starred in more than 70 motion pictures and television shows («The greatest child tragedienne of our time,» London Daily Express), and is the owner of a star in Hollywood Boulevard’s Walk of Fame.“Arguably the most talented and prolific producer-director-lyricist-composer-musician-actress in theatre” (L.A. Times)
Chris DeCarlo has been directing, writing and acting in Los Angeles for over fifty years. As an educator, Chris is the director of the Actors Workshop and the Young Professionals’ Company, which under his direction, has traveled internationally, performing as well as leading discussions and workshops in New York, Canada, Japan, Ireland and England. Chris completed a nine-year term as Commissioner on the Santa Monica Arts Commission and is currently a member of the Arts Commission Performing Arts committee.
