Running with Forks

I have a secret. I am one of the many that have a fetish for cupcakes. I’ve had every kind of cupcake in Los Angeles: before, during, and after the cupcake craze. Its sad to say I have a well versed knowledge of these tasty treats in So. Cal.
I was introduced to Running With Forks through a CMYelp Event. Although we were offered mini bites of four flavors, it offered enough to base an opinion. I have had health conscious cupcakes, organic cupcakes, and vegan cupcakes before. More often than not. the flavor or texture is usually lacking or something is off. There is always a certain twang in the aftertaste that reminds you — THIS IS ORGANIC. This is not the case with Running With Forks. The flavors were full and rich. There was no lingering aftertaste I relate to health conscious pastries. I shared with Kirstin, the owner and creator, that I felt her cupcakes were better than Babycakes NYC.
The flavors I tried were:
Vanilla
Chocolate
Carob Chai (spectacular spicy taste)
Lemon Lavender (not at all overpowering like some bar of soap.)
Kirstin is a sweetheart. She is passionate and genuine about her product. She uses organic ingredients to make her cupcakes. its better explained on her website.
After talking with her, I learned her prices are pretty much a competitive price as with all other cupcake stores. Currently, she does not have a store front, but she is offering her cupcakes through online purchases.
A very worthwhile cupcake if you are looking for a health conscious alternative.
