I drove all the way down from San Francisco to see Dr K. because I had recently developed an ugly condition called xanthelasma on both of my eyelids, and he was one of the few doctors I could find who knew how to address it and had good ratings. I came down expecting to get a laser treatment and he informed me that the area was too large to laser and instead I needed to get surgery. He then felt so bad that I drove 7 hours to see him that he offered to operate the following morning at 7am AND to do it for a better price if I was willing to go anesthesia free (paying an anesthesiologist is very expensive). That is an experience I’ll never forget. I talked non-​stop and made jokes the entire time as he zapped off square-​centimeterage of my face (why is square-​footage a word and square-​centimeterage not?), and I promised him I was going to write a Unilocal review calling him a barbarian. But the truth is that he’s really cool and talented, and he fixed my eyes and made them look amazing! I will take that drive all over again any day should my body rebel against me again and require snipping.

Everyone was so incredibly rude on the phone. I called to ask some questions and schedule a consultation, but I ended up hanging on one of the women after being transferred around the lines. This is the face of the business, so if the staff are this unprofessional and condescending then I can’t even imagine how bad the doctor is.

I have been to Dr. Karamanoukian several times this year for laser work to improve my skin. He is an excellent plastic surgeon with great skills and a great reputation, as well as top notch results, and his staff is unbelievably nice and welcoming. I had previous filler in my nose before relocating to Los Angeles and the time finally came to have the procedure done again after the filler went away. I place all my trust in Dr. Karamanoukian and it resulted in the best job on my nose to date! His attention to detail and precision in the procedure was unmatched compared to previous procedures I have had done on my nose. The indented side was filled and my nose looks much straighter and the profile smoother. The procedure was very cost-​effective. Afterwards, Dr. Karamanoukian and his staff provided me with a cold compress to reduce the redness (which went away after 24 hours) and cleaned the area so others would not be able to tell I had anything done that day. I am very pleased with Dr. Karamanoukian’s work on my face and grateful for having found such a great plastic surgeon.

I was coming to his office every 4 – 6 weeks things were great. A couple of months before my bday I decided to get a certain procedure done. I ended up tearing my stitches, on bed rest for almost 6 months, had another surgery on bed rest for 2 more months, and was told he would fix my belly button. This is were we had the issue, he told me I was healed from my last surgery and he would fix my belly button. The last time I came into his office he gave me a horrible judgmental speech, and told me I didn’t need my belly button. Certain areas I still fell numb and it has been almost 3 years since the surgery. I feel let down by this doctor and still no belly button. I’ve been to other doctors and some say they won’t touch it, others will do surgery but it’s way to high.

Dr Raffy cares SO much for his patients. He is the best and will always be honest with you. He will tell you what you need and what you DONT need. I’ve been dealing with an annoying scar and he took me through the process step by step and is making it look better every day!

Dr Raffy Karamanoukian is a Miracle Worker!
After a botched laser liposuction surgery left me with severe irregularities, scars and uneven proportions on my inner– and outer thighs, flanks and knees I was wary of proceeding with any revision surgery even though I knew it was necessary for me to feel confident again. Luckily I found Dr Raffy and the Kare Plastic Surgery Center in Santa Monica.
During my consultation Dr Raffy patiently discussed all of my questions and addressed my concerns. He made me feel comfortable and reviewed how he would address each issue. As a result I knew I was in good hands and decided to proceed with the revision liposuction surgery as well as the Brazilian Cellulite treatment he offers.
Its been 2 months since my surgery and I am still in disbelief with the amazing result. Dr Raffy’s attention to detail is impeccable and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. The dents, disproportions and unevenness have disappeared and all thats left is a smooth hourglass silhouette. I now have a body I never knew was possible and for that I will be eternally grateful to Dr Raffy and his team.

Dr. K is the best kind caring and truthful! I asked for a couple of treatments I thought I needed and was interested in and he could have sold me the moon and sun but he was really honest and frank that I really didn’t need the treatments I was asking for! I did get one ipl treatment and will be back for more my skin has never looked so youthful I feel it makes me look 10 years younger! My cousin went and got a few treatments he needed and he looks incredible! Like he hasn’t aged since his 20’s if you are looking for a fair honest good priced dr look no further !! Dr K is your guy!

I have been under the care of Dr. Karamanoukian for 7 years; from sclerotherapy (small/​large spider veins), to scar minimization, laser hair removal (ALL body parts), and Botox. I have always experienced exceptional results/​treatment from him and his team. So much so that I continue coming back and now travel from San Francisco for appointments. Being that I have both ethnic and sensitive skin, I am hyper vigilant in ensuring that only the best/​experts treat it. This explains my undying loyalty, and dedication in traveling, to Kare Plastic Surgery. In return, the Kare team always goes above and beyond in fixing what ails me. So happy to be fuzz, vein, scar, and wrinkle free! :)
PS– thankfully Dr. Karamanoukian is conservative in administering Botox and used only what I needed, which was ¹⁄₃^rd the typical amount for a forehead. He puts the patients’ needs/​aesthetics first, as opposed to a one size fits all approach, or concern for up selling/​a bottom line.

I went in for my first procedure 2 weeks ago and I’m happy to say that I’m pleased with the experience. Dr. Karamanoukian did a really good job of making me feel comfortable during my procedure. His staff was nice as well! I could tell that he really likes what he does. As a young patient, many doctors won’t take you too seriously. But in contrast to many of them, Dr. K came up with a plan that was right for me and kept telling me how mature I was for my age. I’m scheduled for my next appointment tomorrow and I can’t wait until I start seeing the results!

Dr. Karamanoukian is amazing. He was able to help my wife with errors from other surgeries. He is obvious he is passionate with his work because he is a perfectionist. He was the only surgeon that was able to help her. She is very happy with the results, where in turn makes me very happy ;)

I accepted injectable tx from the Dr as I was referred to him by a reliable professional I trust. There seems little difference between this Dr and other Hollywood plastic surgeons I’ve seen. What does it take to find an overall good professional?
Saying this is to say they take your money, credit card, no checks, for consultation without including this for the treatment you accept that day, He spends 15 minutes with you, after keeping you waiting some time, getting a feel for you, yet he doesn’t take any notes, or make written recommendations for treatment, he’s hurried and rushed to go the next patient, he engages you in treatment by his personal approach yet once he completes the task he leaves the tx room with little word what to expect upon inject able tx. I had to ask the RN assistant for assistance to lower chair, change ice pack and wipe away some spot bleeding. What?
I was left alone in the room with no instruction what to expect, the RN briefed me. and gave me compress.
I wasn’t given a follow up courtesy visit, or instructed to call for advice if there was swelling and bruising which did occur.
The Dr did place the injectable syringe in corrective places and I see the difference even with bruising and chipmunk jowls. I pray will dissipate in a few hours.
Sometimes we’re so desperate to correct what was previously done by other pro incorrectly you want to trust again.
This was my experience. Bedside manner is not enough to keep me interested. I want the whole enchilada!

Very VERY late update. All the warts are gone!!! They have been gone for a couple years now, I was just lazy with an update. It’s like they weren’t even there. Thanks Dr. Raffy for the wonderful service you do. I will be back in the future if I ever need/​want something else!

I love Dr. Raffy! This review is totally overdue. He really know skin issues and helped me with a leg vein that had been horribly treated by someone else. He told me to stick to his plan which would take a while but it would work, I did and he fixed it up real good!
He’s not trying to give you some quick fix and take your money. Don’t let some random person that isn’t a trained expert (like Dr Raffy!) screw up your veins (or face, whatever the case may be). He’s a brilliant doc, funny guy and all around cool dude. Even though the needle poking sucked I totally looked forward to seeing him.
And for my final selling point, he’s the only person I will drive to Santa Monica for. Nuff said!

I never write reviews on Unilocal unless something is so extraordinary. Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian is one of the best plastic surgeons who I’ve met in my life. Before I make an appointment to any Dr I research and study them. I have met countless plastic surgeons but Kare Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Center is the most generous, genuine and honest one. That’s also the reason why he was on TV show many times (The Doctors).

I had an emergency while visiting LA and went to the ER where the doctors brushed me off. Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian saw me right away in his office, did stitches on my face and was very concerned with my overall long term treatment. I look forward to seeing the results but so far, I am very happy.

Dr Karamanoukian was a true gentleman, he gave me the peace of mind I was looking for whilst I am on my travels in the US. He gave me the honest answer and explained my options thoroughly and even gave me a good offer if I wanted to go down treatment routes.

I saw Dr K cause I had a previous Mexican Dr inject my lips with Singfiller from China. I later find out Singfiller wasn’t FDA approved. My lips enlarged so much looking like a duck, my cheeks got big, and I had severe pain. Furthermore, my lips developed bumps which were scary! Dr K first told me that I may need surgery but to come back the next day to reverse the Singfiller. He also prescribed Prednisone.
Dr K. Reversed my lips with a fresh Hyaluronidase liquid, my lips slowly started to look smaller and natural, furthermore my lips naturally started to drain out the bad Singfiller cause my body was rejecting the solution. Dr K saved my lips from surgery and a bad injection! He was sent from God since I was praying for a miracle!!! Thank you Dr K!!!

Dr. K is amazing and his staff as well all delightful. Dr. K is an amazing surgeon and just such a caring doctor! I recommend all family and friends with trust knowing that anyone who goes to him is in the best hands for surgery and or fillers and other cosmetic procedures!

This so called Dr. nearly killed me. I lost over 120lbs and wanted a tummy tuck. I had met him at the fitness expo and he talked a good game. Days after surgery I developed a bad infection (staph). My wound open and I arrived in his office bleeding on his floor. He said, I can help, I just need a additional $ 1500 for the surgical center. I wasn’t in a position to argue.
My wound did not completely heal after 2 years and the «Dr.» said «Ive never seen this before, I don’t know how to fix it.» After almost giving up I found a Dr. at Good Samaritan hospital that was able to help. Two corrective surgeries, 4 in total I am still unhappy with the results. I still have pain and was told it will never completely heal.
The stature of limitations on a lawsuit is only 1 year. I wish I could have sued him for all my pain and suffering. Hes a board certified surgeon, but not a board certified plastic surgeon at the time of my procedure.
AVOID THIS MONSTER AT ALL COST! What kind of doctor says I don’t know how to fix you?
