Exterior looks plain but don’t let that fool you. Go inside! The Double hamburger was tasty and oh so yummy. Meat was burnt crispy on the edges and juicy on the inside. Yummy leafy lettuce, heirloom tomatoes and pickles! The lemonade tasted fresh. Service was good and this place has beautiful views of the ocean.

Feels like you’re paying more for the setting than for the food itself. It tastes like a decent burger and fries meal to me – couldn’t find anything special about it. Seating is okay, but it gets a little crowded over the weekends, more so in the summer. I’m giving most of the star credit to the staff; they did a very great job remaining calm when the lines got long.

My husband wanted to try custard ice cream so we gave this place a try. Little did we know all additions were extra cost. Our total came out to a little over $ 7! And we were not super impressed. Tasted like just a regular ice cream blizzard to me. Still good though. We walked around the promenade and realized we could’ve got better ice cream for half the price! Seriously overpriced here. Make sure to shop around before settling for this place.

Overall, this is a great spot for lunch on the pier. I would come back. We came for a Saturday lunch. The line was longer than we hoped, but our food was served quickly. Ordered 2 pier burgers, a chicken sandwich, and a wild pacific ono fish sandwich. The single pier burgers were delicious. The yellow buns were nice and fluffy. Only the rims of the buns were toasted though, but that’s not a big deal. The patty was juicy and meaty. I liked instead of iceberg lettuce, they used green leaf lettuce for the extra leafy-ness. The sauce in the burger reminded me of In-N-Out. It was a great burger. The fish sandwich was too dry for my taste. They were generous on the size of the fish fillet. Very satisfied with the fries here. Most places have their fries either too thick or too thin. These are slightly thinner than In-N-Out fries and are well seasoned with salt. As for desserts, we ordered a banana berry concrete and a reese’s peanut butter concrete. The Reese’s peanut butter one was way tastier than the banana berry. Would not recommend the banana berry! A minor complaint about this place is water costs $ 0.25 per cup, but it comes with free refills. The prices on the menu look reasonable, but it will start to add up when you order 2 burgers, 2 sandwiches, 2 desserts, fries, and drinks.

Not bad not bad~ the burger patty is super flavorful, on the peppery sides My fiancé and I shared a Double pier burger with extra well done fries and strawberry vanilla shake for a mid day snack after biking for hours and before dinner. Paid $ 18 something. Bleh. Pricey since we shared this meal but what do you expect for being on the pier. The burger Bun I didn’t care for because it was slightly burnt, and buns are crucial to distinguish a good burger. Fries were good since u can’t go wrong with Over done fries. Shake was decent. I can find it somewhere in la or OC for cheaper and less whip cream. Good for a quick snack when walking the pier/biking/swimming

Pier Burger is a greasy dive on the Santa Monica Pier that serves up Hamburgers, Fries, Frozen Custard and Shakes. Both times I’ve been there, I’ve ordered the Peanut Butter Cookie Frozen Custard. It is SO bomb. Almost everyone in there is having 2 – 3 Hamburgers each, so I think it’s safe to say they’re a hit! My only real issue is that it takes quite a long time to get your order. Both times we were nearly to the point of just leaving our $ 6.25 piece of heaven and splitting. Ah… thanks goodness we didn’t cause in the end-it was so worth it. The location on the pier is great and is directly across from the public restrooms which is convenient since No establishments on the pier has a restroom available for the public. Santa Monica Beach and Pier get pretty busy but paid parking is always available and abundant if you can find a spot. For me, Pier Burger is a dessert destination… and if you ever check it out… you’ll see why!

If you are Californian you would agree that no one beats the franchise of in-n-out for fresh bugers, fries and shakes(well maybe not shakes). This place comes pretty dang close. The burgers were really fresh and juicy, the shakes were really amazing, although the fries could use some help in freshness and may be that is the only reason this place did not beat in-n-out. I had the pier burger with vanilla shake and fries. This is more of a 4.5 stars instead of 4 star review.

They weren’t kidding when they said their burgers were juicy! I came here Friday night and indulged in a double Pier Burger, topped with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. This was a very JUICY, quality beef burger, however the reason I’m giving this place only an average rating is because I mostly tasted the salty flavor of the meat and feel that the burger could have had more interesting flavor(either through its sauce or toppings). A more flavorful sauce or toppings such as caramelized onions and avocados would have pushed my rating into the 4 category. PierBurger can get crowded with tourists, as its located right in the middle of the Santa Monica Pier. However, the location can’t be beat, as you can glance through the windows and door and be able to enjoy the beauty of the water and waves from inside the restaurant. The view was perfect when I came by on Friday, when it was a little after sunset and it was high tide. In addition to burgers, the restaurant offers other mouth-watering fare such as hot dogs, sandwiches, shakes, and concretes. The banana berry concrete sounded delicious, so I may have to come back to try it one of these days.

Fresh food in the style of your favorite soda shop, Great staff, nostalgic ambience, dog friendly benches and tables in front and covered garden area in the back. Better than in and out burger by far. View of the ocean, people, seagulls and characters. Close to Zorba the fortune teller and Pacific Park amusements and rides. They even brew Old Pete’s coffee here. One of the best affordable restart talks in Santa Monica. They even have fresh fish sandwiches.

Well… fries were over salted and not crispy enough… burger was good(double hamburger with bacon extra sauce pickled onion lettuce) but was missing something. «Fresh squeezed» lemonade does not have enough Sugar and there is no pulp. Hardly tastes home made. I paid about $ 17 for my meal… kinda sucks on pricing. There is a cute guy with dreads working here and he is constantly walking around the dining area spraying pigeons with windex or something. Mediocre at best

A solid 4 stars burger place. Biggest plus is the fact that it is located on the pier in Santa Monica. Good: — The burger patties were juicy and thick made of 100% certified angus ground chuck. Cooked well. I ordered everything on it and it didn’t disappoint. Cost of a double burger was $ 8.50. I also added bacon for $ 1 more and cheese for another $ 1. — Fries are delicious. Their large is really large(1 lb of fries for a large)! It can feed 2 or 3 people. — They have indoor seating or covered patio. — They move through the long lines pretty quickly. — Other options other than burgers include: Hod dogs, chicken sandwiches, Ono fish sandwich, shakes, floats and sundaes. Could be better: — Prices are expensive for burgers and fries. Myself and my three young boys cost us $ 40 without drinks. Regular soda is $ 3 so make sure to bring your own with you if you can.

My friend and I stopped at Santa Monica Beach pier, to get some food. We decided to go to Pier Burger, as it looked like a really good place to eat. The restaurant is a very small place, with limited seating. The view was terrible, as you see nothing but the public restrooms from the dinning area. The seating area was filthy, with trash everywhere. Pigeons waking under the tables scavenging the food from the floor. It was gross. The burgers were very similar to In-N-Out, but less oily, so that was good. The French fries were really good. Nothing out of the ordinary with the burgers.

I went to Santa Monica Pier for a brief 2 hour period in the morning to look at the views and this was once of the first places open. It was too early for lunch so we grabbed a Banana Berry Concrete. It was absolutely delicious. It was not too sweet and had a good balance of banana and berry. The amazing views of the water didn’t hurt either. I’m not sure if the rest of their menu is as good, but I can say without a doubt that the Banana Berry Concrete is a must order!

The burger they make here is way, way, way better than it has any business being given the ultra-tourist-y-ness of the area. It’s incredible. It all melts together perfectly. Especially now that Rustic Canyon no longer offers their off-menu burger, this is the best in town.

PierBurger is a pretty decent burger place if you’re on the Santa Monica Pier. The prices here are not outrageous, as with some other restaurants on the Pier. I was here around 3 pm on a sunny weekday. The line was alright and I was able to order my burger, fries, and custard relatively quickly. The burger and fries were delicious, especially the fries which were done very well. The custard took them a long time to make. I ordered the salty caramel with toppings. The actual time to prepare the custard was not long, but it required that one of the cashiers step away from the counter and go to the back to make the custard, and my cashier was reluctant to do so until the line had become much shorter. As a result, I had to wait on my custard for a good 15 minutes. But when it arrived, it was delicious, so that kind of made up for it.

Something about a crowded pier evokes memories of bad food and funnel cakes. This place with it’s delicious burgers and custard makes the heat a bit more bearable. Definitely recommend a burger with all the fixins. There special sauce is pretty delicious and the fries a great too. Thankfully there is plenty of seating both inside and out.

Yes! Do it! You won’t be disappointed! Now that I have your attention, let me tell you a bit more about my short visit. We only had a few minutes to eat as we were beach hoping in Cali today. We got two pier burgers and fries. They were awesome. For what you may consider«fast food», burgers were juicy, buns were fresh and fries were perfectly crispy. I’d do it again if I could!

This was a fantastic burger. The location, price, and taste just can’t be beat. We were wandering the pier and Unilocal had suggested me this place to eat at. Especially after a day in the hot sun, it was nice to be able to sit under some shade and still feel that ocean breeze. I only wish the eating area had a better view of the beach. I ordered the pier burger and the patty was incredibly juicy. I needed a napkin as it dripped on my hands as devoured it. The fries weren’t the best I’ve ever had though and a pound was a lot less than I thought it would be. I would suggest just sharing one with some friends as it’s a little expensive.(This coming from a potato fanatic like myself.) If you are in the area, definitely think of going to PierBurger for lunch. If you can beat the line, it will be the perfect complement to your many adventures through Cali.

I loved this place. I just love the fact that it is on the pier and it wasn’t as expensive as everything else. Everything on the pier doubles their prices. Even the taco bell in pacific park. This place had some really good fries for like $ 2.50 if I remember correctly. The place was packed and the line was coming out of the restaurant, but it was worth the wait. The employees were very nice and were trying to work as fast as possible. I ordered the fries and I was missing like $ 0.50 because of the taxes. I had made a huge line and my husband had my wallet. I told her if I can come back with the $ 0.50 and she said sure. I quickly went to look for him and he gave it to me. By the time I was back which was like in 2 minutes she had assisted someone else. I think that was good because I wasn’t holding up the line. After she took their order she took mine again and she had put my money on the side. She put in my order and it was ready in about a minute. I think they have the fries prepared already since everyone gets them in the combos. I went to pick and asked for a cup of water. That’s when I realized they don’t give free water at the pier. She told me that will be $ 0.25. I had no idea so I had to go outside again and get a quarter and go back and get my cup of water. I should of learned from the first time and kept my wallet with me. Anyways, when I went back I didn’t make a line for a cup of water I just waited for a man to finish his order and told the cashier. They gave me my cup of water right away. I think this is one of the best places to eat at the pier if you don’t want to spend too much money. The fries were also really good.

On a lazy Sunday afternoon, we decided to venture out to Santa Monica to enjoy the beautiful sunny California weather. I had a light lunch but I can never say no to a burger! We noticed there are lines to order but nothing crazy and it moves quickly. There are several areas you can order from, inside or outside. We ordered inside and decided on two classic Pier Burger, a large fries and a large soda to share between us. Finding a table can be tricky so we opted to just stand at the tables outside which is even better because you can enjoy the air. It’s a bit stuffy inside. The food arrived in a timely fashion and the burgers and fries were pretty good! Will I say it’s so amazing you should drive all the way to Santa Monica Pier just to eat it? No but if you’re already in the area, definitely try it! I think the custards is something they are known for as I saw many people order them but I didn’t try one so I can’t say for sure. It’s definitely a try while enjoying the rest of your day here!
