Robert, Rana and Baris are very easy to work with and offer great deals on some beautiful vehicles. The first time I visited his lot in Santa Monica I was looking for a specific car I wanted at the time and Baris tossed me and my friend the keys. When I asked him if he needed to hold on to my drivers license he looked me up and down and said «Eh, you look honest. Just bring the car back.» :) I didn’t fall in love with that particular model Audi A6 but I came back instead to check out an Audi A5. The car needed a little detail work to make it really clean and pop, and Robert promised me all the things he would do to make it shine. He then made me an offer I couldn’t refuse on the price and told me to come back. When I came back he had made all the promises he said he would take care of and the car looked great. They even drove the car to my mechanic to have them check it out even though it took the mechanics a week to inspect. All in all, the team at Payless Auto make it easy and quick to buy beautiful vehicles at great prices. If you are car shopping definitely give these guys a chance and skip the private dealer and corporate dealership drama + back and forth haggling. The people at Payless Auto were honest, easy to communicate with, and extremely fair.

I’ve had quite a few experiences (good and bad) with used car dealerships, and I have to say that Payless Auto Sales ranks as the best experience I have ever had. From the friendly, welcoming, and family-​like nature of Robert and Baris, to the upfront and honest negotiations, Payless was great to do business with. I’m grateful for everything that they did during my decision making process. Highly recommended for honest and friendly car sales.

Purchased 2012 mini from Payless auto and for the lowest possible price. The car was clean inside and out the people at Payless very sweet & kind. However remember this is a «used» car lot. There was the customary 30 day warranty and here is where it gets tricky, when we drove off the lot I immediately noticed the car was pulling like force was needed to push the gas pedal but once it went it went, the car would also hesitate to the point where you could push the gas pedal to the floor and almost nothing would happen. I took the car back and told them what was going on. After test driving they noticed it too and sent us to the smog place on 19^th and pico in Santa Monica the mechanic Ed also vey nice guy said it was the spark plug he replaced it and sent us on our way, a day later the check engine light came on and we repeated the process, this time Ed the mechanic said let me reset it so he did, a 3^rd time it came on same process this time he said «the computer says engine retarded, I don’t know what that is so ill reset it» the 4^th time from July to October same process, this time more lights except for plus it needs a smog and the car has yet to be registered in my name so on top of this I’m driving around with expired tags … So Ed the mechanic says it’s going to be a big job I’ve tried several thing ive put $ 800 on the car and it’s still not working it probably needs to go to a
Mini dealer the car needs a chain. We call Robert at Payless and he says he knows nothing about it and hasn’t heard from the mechanic. So after some back and forth and being without the car for several days Robert from Payless says «you broke the car by putting a hole in the oil pan letting the oil leak out causing the chain to break, that’s going to be $ 1200 how are you going to pay that?» Well 1. This is a pre existing issue that is under the hood and covered by the warranty since it’s the same issue we’ve had since day 1 & 2 as many times as this car has been to Ed the mechanic who only reset the warning light seems that’s negligent on his part, 3 the only light that has yet to come on is the oil light so basically we won’t be paying any portion of the $ 1200 to fix it. The mechanic stated that this is not the 1^st time this has happened with Payless and they never want to pay to fix the car properly and that he will stop doing business with Payless doe that reason
It’s been 2 almost 3 weeks with out the car we’ve had less than 4 months no phone call nothing finally called and reached the mechanic who says the car is ready.
This does not take away from the niceness if the people,
The great deals they have and great looking cars just beware fixing the car may be an uphill battle.

Was in there yesterday to test drive the car I was interested in. Robert (the owner) and his staff were so helpful and so willing to accommodate everything for me I ended up leaving with the car. Best customer service I have seen in a long time. Really honest and fun people to do business with.

This is a late submission; regarding my new acquisition. Here’s a little history, I have purchased a total of three cars from (Payless Auto Sales) as well as my brother has purchased vehicles for him and wife too… but I recently purchased a beautiful black 2013 BMW 650i from Robert with «really low» miles… and did I mention really low miles, lol — (let’s just say, I’m happy).
As always Robert and his staff are always very professionally, extremely helpful, and willing to accommodate any request presented to ensure «you» the customer are happy and comfortable with the purchasing processing from start to finish, and I can’t express this enough; Robert is an awesome guy and a great businessman to conduct business with… thank you once again to the Payless Auto Sales family!

Most pleasant car buying experience ever! We were treated better than when we purchased a Mercedes from W.I. Simonson! Robert and his family were a pleasure to deal with. It was quick and painless. We bought a 2008 Corvette with only 29 000 miles on it. Car is AWESOME! Owner’s manual was missing for the car and Robert emailed one to me. While I was there, my wallet fell out of my pocket and they called me to tell me they found it. Next time I’m in the market for a car, I’m going here first.

Wow, what can I say, except that I am very happy with my Mercedes E350. Found Payless Auto on the Internet. Didn’t do my research till after I purchased the car I fell in love with. I Should’ve of Unilocaled first to see all the great reviews. Seen Robert, and took the car for a test drive. Robert is such a fair person, unlike other dealers trying pressure you and telling you what you want to hear for their sale. Robert gave me a great sense of relief with buying a used car, by giving me a 30 day warranty on engine/​transmission. No issues with my car. Not even a squeak. Drives like a brand new car. Lots of compliments. Highly recommend buying your car from Roberts lot. Will be referring Robert to all my family and friends. I for sure will be a returning customer.

I have known Robert for almost 6 years. I just bought my second car from him yesterday. He is by far the most reliable dealer you can find in CA. He has a very strict procedure of picking his cars, so you can’t go wrong with any of the cars in that parking lot. His inventory turn over is so high that I recommend taking frequent looks at his website. I highly recommend his service as this is probably the most helpful staff you can ever find.

These guys are great! Robert did everything he could to get me in car I wanted, and I gladly waved goodbye my beemer same day. A few weeks later I realized my blinker was out and he took care of it did me while I was work. Good and honest service. I can’t wait to visit back for an upgrade

This place really is as good as it gets. I would give 6 stars if I could. Those two were some of the nicest, most genuine people I have done business with.
I saw my Mini Cooper listed on their site through CarFax. I called, and explained that it was exactly what I was looking for and that I hated the whole haggling process. I explained I could pay cash and asked if he could just give me his lowest reasonable price. Well, he dropped the price by $ 2K over the phone! When I showed up the next day I felt like I was dealing with family, very genuine people as I said before.
The car was in excellent condition. The price was just below KBB, and Payless Auto gave s me a one month warranty at no extra cost. He said when it was time for service or an oil change I could go to them and they would get it done at the best prices. As an unexpected added bonus, they gave me a car charger with a matching connector for my phone! WHaaaaat. This is a used car dealership, mind you. I drove out of there feeling like a million bucks, with the top down.
I highly recommend Payless Auto Sales. Baris had said that it’s not just cars they are selling, and he’s right.

I wanted to share my great experience about Payless auto sales. First of all I bought 3 cars from them: D After buying 3 cars I had to write a review about this great used car sales in Santa Monica. First car was 2 years ago a beautiful 911 Carrera, I was a little worried about buying a 911 so I took it to an independent Porsche repair shop to get it checked and everything was fine. 1.5 years later no problems yet.
2^nd car was the Land Cruiser, that car is like a tank. It has been a year and I haven’t seen a mechanic yet except oil changes. Still have it and very happy about the car and the transaction with Payless.
3^rd car was a Prius for my wife. It has been couple of months, she loves the car. No problems, and it has all the packages. We got a very good deal on that car, I would say $ 2K less than any other car dealers no just in Santa Monica but whole Los Angeles. Just did the 100K miles service at Santa Monica Toyota and no problems with the car.
When somebody says a used car dealer, people usually have a bad feeling about it but you should definitely see these guys at Payless Auto Sales. They are amazing with customer service and very friendly. I took my friend there to buy a car, he had a minor problem after 2 months, they even took care of the problem after the one month warranty ended. They give one month warranty, I never had a problem with my cars but I’m sure they would take care of me with some discounted car repair service also. Oh by the way for all these deals I got less than 5 percent interest on my financing. toyota financial was giving 8 percent.
I wanted to thank Robert and Baris for all their great customer service and patience. I probably tested 20 car by now: D If you are planning to buy a used car or sell a used car this should be your first dealership in Santa Monica. Hope to see you guys soon for my 4^th car: D Thank you.

Great and easy to deal with! My family is expanding soon and we have been on the hunt for a mid-​size sedan with low mileage. We currently had a 2003 Sentra that was just too small. When we saw they had a 2006 Toyota Prius for $ 10 450 and only 37k in miles we jumped on it. My husband went during his lunch and loved it! They took all of his info and held the car for us until he was off of work. We got there and the paperwork was all ready to go. We wrote a check, signed some paperwork and we were done! To top it off, we had received a quote from Car Max to buy our Sentra and Payless Auto purchased it for the same price! So it was a one stop deal… we got our new car and sold our old one. Couldn’t have been easier!

Ok… So… This is my first review on Unilocal!I have been using it a lot but never signed up for it! And I am actually doing it for this dealer cause it was a big cause of stress to me to find the right car and thanks to them I did!
I just moved to Los Angeles with my husband and needed a car quickly!!! We went to a few different dealers and checked craiglist! Most of the dealers were pushy and made you feel quite uncomfortable! Robert and his staff were very helpful! We found the Mitsubishi on the internet and wanted to check it out! They immediately offered us a test drive! It was a little dirty on the outside and inside, did have quite a few scratches on the body and on the tires but this is all easthetics and can easily be fixed. The car wasn’t our budget and they made a great effort to make it affordable to us! They honestly did make a good offer and offered to make some embellishments!
They weren’t pushy at all and since we didn’t know a lot about how everything works in the US they truly took the time to explain everything, to show us Carfax, make calls to inurances and other services ! They were great overall and offered coffee each time ;) We just purchased the car, got the insurance and they are taking car of all the papers, which is great for us! The tire they changed is like brand new! The people they work with are very professional and once more they were welcoming, honest and trustful. I definitely recommend this place to buy a car

Found Robert by doing a Google search that led into reading on Unilocal how AMAZING he and his dealership were… and let me tell you… EVERYONE WAS SPOT ON!!! My experience couldn’t have been more pleasant — AT A CAR DEALERSHIP!!! He worked with me and the situation I was in, got me into a high end luxury car for a reasonable down payment and even more affordable monthly payments.
My time in and out of there, with a test drive, paperwork and just chatting was under an hour — and I went home on the spot with my fun, new car.
This business is LEGIT. No more brand dealerships for me… I’M SOLD with Payless Auto Sales from here on out.

Robert is a genuine person. I could tell immediately.
I’ve always been worried when buying cars that were not directly from dealerships, but he offers a 30 day warranty to get it inspected.
I took the vehicle to Land Rover the very next day, and they told me the car was in perfect condition, no problems whatsoever, just as he said. A man of his words.
The transaction was smooth, and the customer service was great. And not to mention, he got us a 2.49% interest rate, and didn’t even add a point on top!

What a great experience! Shopping for another car is not fun but Robert and Volkan were awesome!
