Family owned and operated, Pacific Coast Tire is a one stop shop for all of your automotive needs. Tires, brakes, tune-​ups, oil change, shocks & struts, alignments, suspension, engine rebuilds and general repair. Our highly trained ASE certified mechanics will perform quality and thorough service on every vehicle.

We take pride in taking care of our customers and their vehicles, and we will perform a full check to make sure there is nothing wrong with your vehicle. We are an old-​fashioned, capable shop with high integrity, and for us, our customers always come first.

Also in our building is Valet Detail, who specializes in complete body work, collision repair, detailing and vehicle restoration.

History

Established in 2011.

Since 1978 our family has been serving the city of Santa Monica and the surrounding area. Establishing long term relationships and trust with local businesses, major fleets, car dealerships, and everyone that drives a car in our fine city to which we call friends and family for all their tire and automotive needs. We opened Pacific Coast Tire and Service to continue our tradition. We are a second generation family-​owned and operated complete tire and automotive service center. We pride ourselves on delivering quality service, at great prices, with hard working caring people we call family to work on your vehicles. Business Owner

Scott started in the tire and automotive industry in Santa Monica in1978. Driven to understand the business from top to bottom he worked his way up through the ranks holding every position for almost all the leading tire and service companies on the west-​side as well as through out the state of California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona and Utah. He was a tire installer, mechanic, salesman, store manager, district manager, trainer, owner/​partner, vice president of sales and marketing. In his 37 years he managed from 7 employee’s to over 1,500, from one location to 140 locations. Through this experience and life long commitment to the industry he has gained a wealth of knowledge that he shares with every employee on a daily basis. «To be the best at something you cannot do it by yourself, share what you know, love what you do and do what you love, this keeps everyone happy including you»

Writing this on behalf of my husband and our dog: We called Thursday night to find out how much it would cost to look at our AC (not blowing cold air). Quoted $ 100, which was much cheaper than a nearby competitor with high Unilocal reviews. Took the car in Friday morning (no appointment was made). They looked extremely busy, but they kept true to their estimated time to fix it. I passed the time by taking our pup to nearby parks (thanks for the recommendations, guys!). Got the phone call that the leak was found and fixed!
Rode home with the windows up and cold AC for the first time in AGES! The best part, the total price was just $ 100 like they quoted. It is hard to find an honest group of guys; we will be taking our car here from now on without hesitation!

First timer here getting new runflats on my car. Managed to get the lowest price for these super expensive Michelins and an alignment. Nice staff.
But then a week later, I noticed one of the tires was put on the wrong way. These tires don’t rotate, they have specific directions and it said «Inside» on the «Outside» — How do I notice this and not the installer? Lol
Now I have to go back and get it fixed. This is like, can a catcher catch a ball… Sigh

If you’re browsing through auto shops, cause there are TONS in the area, literally stop here. You’ve found it. The guys here are definitely people you’d sit and have a beer with, AND they’re straight up with high quality work. They’re all masters of their craft, if you will. They know their business because they own multiple cars themselves and are constantly upgrading their interior quality, it’s their hobby. It’s a family owned business and they’re legit.
This is the second time I’ve come to them with car trouble, and let’s be real, that’s a real shitty part of the day. The fact that I’ve left here actually happy and pleased with my outcome speaks volumes, especially as a young woman walking into an auto shop not feeling like I got scammed whatsoever, I highly highly recommend using their service. Shout out to Vic for giving me a ride home and saving me an Über!

got tire problems? pot hole got you down? well come talk to Chris about your tire miseries and he will send you away with a smile with arms and legs intact!
a modest shop filled with good selection of tires and great people. Just tell Chris what you need and how much you looking to spend. better yet, come see him in person. he’ll give you honest assessment, and fair recommendations without trying to upsell you or talk you down (unlike so many auto service «professionals» out there.
Chris is a true professional and all around good dude — shake his hand, pay him cash, and trust him with your car.
he’s like that chill bro you’d want to grab a beer and trust your problem with. in fact, I witness a fellow customer showed up with a large pack of PBR as token of appreciation. it reminds me of something I did back in Texas with local shops I truly trust, a rare site in LA if you ask me.
after getting ripped off by another shop when the Mrs. blew a OEM tire late evening, I came to Chris got 2 Pirelli for the Mrs. plus a new set of Michelin PSS for myself. I couldn’t be more happy with the purchase as it more than made up for the bad taste that I got from that other shop.
now if they just freshen up the «waiting area» and hook it up with wifi this place will be a true oasis of tire service. but hey, even without a posh setting, I’d still drive across town to ask Chris to take my business.

The guys here are like old friends and are just cool. They don’t try to up sell you but give you honest information about your car. Not only do they do a great job, they have excellent customer service and the best rates. I moved from Santa Monica but still come here because once you find an honest auto company you stick with it… and I’m not a friend or family, if you look at my other reviews you’ll see I only give honest reviews based on experience.
Ask for Vic, Chris, or Mike, all good dudes.

My lady called me up one night after work and told me that her tire pressure light came on. I asked her to visually check each tire and she told me that she was already driving so she couldn’t. Excellent. Don’t worry about that light. No big deal, it’s just telling you that you’re driving on a time bomb. I asked her when the light came on. She told me that it was a couple of days earlier. Cool. No rush. Just a time bomb. Tick tock tick tock.
I guess I don’t know what else I was expecting from her. Maybe some concern over her own safety. Anyway, I filled the tires up at a gas station and told her to keep an eye on it. A week later, the light came on. At some point she mentioned that she «might have run over something spiky». Good to know.
I found these guys at Pacific Coast Tire here on Unilocal.I called them up at around 8am and asked if I could make an appointment for that morning. They said to just come on in, that it would take about 30 – 45 minutes. So I went in with her and got them all set up. Then I rode my bike to work while my lady waited at the Starbucks next door.
It took about two hours but they did end up patching the tire and getting her on her way for $ 25. Seemed reasonable to me, albeit longer than expected. My lady was mad that her «whole morning got ruined» because she had to wait way longer than she expected. I get it. I am a pretty routine guy, I don’t like it when things screw up my routine. But I also get that this is what happens when you may or may not run over something spiky and then neglect it.
So, this review would have been five stars if we were in and out in the 45 minutes I was expecting. But since I had to deal with a cranky lady I can only give it four stars. Each cranky lady involved in a retail experience degrades the rating by one star. That’s a standard Unilocal rule. Still, if you have a leaky tire and want to spend $ 25 fixing it, this is an easy choice. Just don’t make your lady wait there for the car unless you want to hear some complaining.

I saw the great reviews for this shop and also got a referral from another shop nearby. My car was hit in an intersection late at night which appeared to damage my wheel. I called Pacific Coast first thing in the morning and the guys told me to bring it right in. I dropped off my car around the alleyway, explained my situation at the front desk, and they told me to head to Starbucks for an hour which was perfect for me.
They fixed my alignment and told me the other damage was only cosmetic. They didn’t try to up-​sell me on any repairs beyond those I requested quotes for, and they were quick and inexpensive. Not only were they all super friendly and helpful, but as a female it is extremely refreshing to not feel either taken advantage of or uncomfortably harassed at auto shops. I highly recommend coming here if you have maintenance, repair, or tire needs!

I was devastated when I found a giant bolt in my tire, my morning was ruined. I called around and Pacific Coast Tire & Service had the best deal $ 25 for a patch.
Tire was patched in 30 minutes and I was able to enjoy the rest of my day.

So many awesome things to say about this place… hmm where to start… Well firstly customer service is amazing! Mike went above and beyond for me. I came in a half hour before closing thinking I would just get a quote for 4 new tires but not only did I get the quote, which was reasonable, but Mike and the crew stayed late to put all 4 tires on for me. Mike also assisted in getting me a Goodyear line of credit for a sweet rebate… thanks Mike your the bestest!!!
The next business day I brought my SUV back for an alignment, front brakes, lock actuator replacement and a missing driver side mirror replacement. Mike once again was wonderful and very thorough in explaining everything to me and the cost was super reasonable. The quality of work from the guys in the shop was also amazing.
I have found my one stop auto shop for anything that may arise in the future and honestly I couldn’t recommend this place enough. So next time those brakes are squeaky or your engine goes caputz or you need tires or just a simple oil change, talk to Mike at Pacific Coast Tire & Service for all your auto needs!

Nobody wants to get a flat tire but this place made it pretty painless. Called and dealt with Mike who is absolutely awesome. Seriously, the nicest guy. Called and told them my car model. He mentioned the options that I had and I decided to leave my car so they could get the exact tire I had before. Ended up searching for the the price online for the same tire, and they were right on top of TireRack price was which I really appreciate. Got the car back in a few hours. Only reason I’m not giving it 5* is that when I got my car back, there was a lot of dirt on the inside on the seats and arm rest from whoever worked on my car. Not a huge deal, but I had to go wipe down the seats and arm rest. All in all, a very good experience. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back here.

Can’t say enough good things about this business. This morning, Mike spotted a nail in my tire from 10 feet away as he approached my car. Jedi style. His response: «I’ve been doing this since I was 12!»
I’ve come here a handful of times for different reasons, and the service is quick, honest, and consistent. The entire staff is friendly and very helpful, and I’m thankful they’re in the neighborhood!

Super friendly staff, extremely trustworthy! The staff here will take you out to your car and show you directly what is wrong with your car/​what needs to be fixed. They explain what they have to do and make it very easy to understand. After originally taking my car to my own dealership where I bought my car, being told almost every time I went there for a simple oil change, that something needed to be fixed & last I was told by the dealer I needed new brakes. I came here and they told me my brakes were fine and walked me to my car and showed me how much I had left.
Chris and crew are extremely knowledgable and know what is best for your automobile. They provided me friendly and quick service and i was able to pickup my car that same day.
Great customer service. I’ll definitely return here (hope I won’t ever NEED to though haha) and I will definitely recommend this shop to friends.

Chris is crazy nice. He’s friendly to all of the customers, and he’s really cool on the phone, and in person. Called in for a 4 wheel alignment for my Benz C250 and was quoted $ 65. He told me I can use the Unilocal coupon if I’ve already bought it, or if I havent, just quote it and he’ll knock off the discount.
Brought my car in at 1:15pm, he told me it’ll be an hour to 1.5hr. So I left, chilled at Starbucks nearby, and came back at 2:15. It wasn’t done yet. They were working on a lot of cars, so I just stayed. I wasn’t rushing, so that was okay. While waiting for my car, I paid first. And he made me pay only the service fee because of the extended wait time. That’s crazy. I mean, sure I’ll take it. Lol.

Enter the parking area through Chelsea. On Santa Monica Blvd, take right on Chelsea, another right into the alley and enter the lot on the right.
I’ll come back again when I need other car maintenance stuff.

I had two different experiences at this place that together influenced my moderate ranking…
First visit was for a new alternator. They had the best price and the fastest service in town, and they honor Unilocal/​web coupons.
Second visit was to get a knocking noise in the engine checked out. Unfortunately they determined that my car would require a rebuild, so I didn’t end up getting any repairs. Even more unfortunate, a miscommunication on their part turned into an extremely frustrating situation. However, the owner called me a couple weeks later to take ownership of the situation (even though he had been out of town) and offered his sincerest apologies. The call alone was greatly appreciated and says a lot about how important his customers and business are, but he also took additional steps to fix the situation. I was very impressed.

We all know how hard it is to find a trustworthy auto repair shop and thanks to Unilocal,I was able to save myself hundreds of dollars.
I was hearing a weird thumping sound while driving and took my car in to two different dealerships. Both dealers gave me two completely different diagnoses as to what was causing the sound. Both wanted hundreds of dollars to fix the problem.
Not one to fall prey to the bullshit of car dealerships, I decided to look for an alternative option. After reading the glowing reviews about PCTS, I ventured here for a third opinion.
I took my car in and Mike had one of the guys go on a drive with me to listen to the noise. He then told me to come back in a couple of hours so they could look into it.
After an hour and a half, he called to tell me that they found the problem and the dealer was making some BS up. I was shocked to hear that the issue was a rock being lodged in one of my tires. I mean, really? All this and the dealers were telling me I that I had to get some major repairs done. WTF.
I came and collected my car and he didn’t even charge me. Very grateful to Mike for that and he even called to follow up and ask if the noise was indeed gone.
Based on my experience here today, I would recommend coming here. Don’t get fooled by dealerships!
