Okay people, STOP looking around for other mechanics. Morgan is your place. Dave and Greg are the classiest, most honest guys I have EVER taken my vehicle. Their shop is like their ethics… clean as a whistle! These guys love autos and you can tell. They take car of you better than your dealer who sees 100’s of cars per week! I’m not even sure I should be writing this because if they get too busy from all the referrals on Unilocal!they might have to move to a bigger location or I might need to make appointments from now on.

* FYI — Call to make an appointment beforehand… it just ensures your car will be taken care of if you’re in a rush or emergency sitch
* FYI — Tiny reception area, but there’s coffee shop literally around the corner if you need to wait

I have to say thank you to Dave. I am from Seattle passing through and had some problems. He help me immediately and got me back in the road quickly. Customer service was the best and shop was clean and professional. Thanks again Dave!

These guys were amazing. Here’s the story. My warranty expired on my Mazda 3 and the mechanic at my dealer suddenly «discovered» over $ 2500 worth of work. This was after five years of regular check ups and upkeep.
A friend referred me to Morgan Auto, and these guys only found an issue with my tires and brakes and handled it all for about $ 1100. Their time estimates were spot on, even doing the work so efficiently that I didn’t need a rental. They also explained EXACTLY what needed to be done and why, which I appreciated, not being a true gear head.
Finally, they leveled with me about what needed to get done ASAP and what could wait until my next oil change. I don’t know what else you’d want from a mechanic. My car rides like new now.

I said it before, I’ll say it again, Dave and the folks at Morgan go against every punch line, cliché and preconception you’ve ever heard about auto mechanics. These guys are honest! Knowledgeable! Considerate! Professional. Trustworthy. Gentlemen! All I knew when I brought my 1992 Miata in was it sounded like it had emphysema. Now I feel like I’m driving a brand new sports car. Humming. Tight. Like it’s right out of the show room. There is no reason to ever look any further. Ever!!!

David and his crew are THE best. I don’t ever write Unilocal reviews, but I just had to because they are so wonderful. I have my friends all coming here now because he’s so great! Can’t speak highly enough! Bonus is David is great with 4Runners, and has been keeping my old ’98 running perfectly. He always takes time to explain what needs to be fixed and is so helpful, knowledgable and personable.

A great service shop. Dave is amazing — does solid work at reasonable rates. If by chance they don’t do the work your car needs they will refer you to other 5 star vendors in the neighborhood. Excellent customer service.

I’ve been looking for an honest mechanic in LA for some time. I think I finally found the place! I came here to get my brakes inspected, and Dave gave me an honest quote. He told me what I absolutely needed to fix, and what was optional (and safe if I didn’t fix). He said I will eventually need to do both, but if I want to choose the cheaper option, safety won’t be a concern. It’s so rare to have a mechanic care about the long term business rather than making just a one-​time transaction. I will definitely come back and will recommend their service to others.

These guys are Awesome, I pulled in needing brake pads an discovered I needed tiers, brake pads an discs. They suggested multiple options for me some of which did not involve there shop. I was able to get everything I needed with peace of mind. Knowing that Morgan Auto will give you the best advice for you not them is a very important factor in finding a good mechanic. I highly recommend Morgan Auto Service.

After driving my car cross country last fall, it decided to start falling apart on me 2 weeks into my new residency. Panicked, and unfamiliar with the area, I hopped on Google and Unilocal to try and find a repair shop. After reading the reviews, I chose this shop.
These guys have saved my car a few times now. They are always honest, personable, straightforward, and do not tack on unnecessary ’”extras” — whether it be extra items that «need» to be fixed or the long approach to fixing the main problem.

Very nice gents who own and operate this place. My tire was popped and I needed to get it replaced stat! I called and they told me to come down. Luckily, this place is a few blocks from my home because driving on a flat tire is scary. I get there and they explained the tire couldn’t be patched and showed me several holes. Unfortunately, they didn’t have my tires in stock but they were nice enough to change my flat to my doughnut so I could find a place that day. I recommend this mechanic since they are nice, ethical, and professional. I’ll be back for my car needs.

I have had the luxury of having a friend back home who is a licensed mechanic for over 20 yrs and always did my work (and taught me how to do things myself) out of his garage.
I moved to Santa Monica this year and have been dreading getting my car repaired because I don’t have a reputable shop. Well I do now! My car had an EVAP leak which needed to be fixed in order to pass the smog test and get my car registered in California.
I called Dave after reading the reviews to simply to ask the labor rate, a rough estimate of the EVAP diagnosis, and if he could diagnose an engine tick. He asked if I was free and told me to bring my car over right away.
I arrived 20 minutes later and he was very pleasant, personable, and I soon found out honest. He came out and checked out my car with me and scanned the computer. He checked over the visible components of the EVAP system and told me everything looks good. He told me the engine tick is probably just noisy lifters as I suspected and suggested I try running some different oil and that it’s most likely not the cam chains that need replacing. Most shops would have gouged me a few hundred just to inspect the top end.
He suggested I go visit his friend at a smog test shop down the road, he hadn’t steered me wrong whatsoever yet so I took his advice. I drove right down there, got a smog test, and passed! I could have spent hundreds in diagnosing and repairing the minor EVAP leak my car had, but instead he gave it to me straight helped me out all free of charge. Not to mention his free honest opinion on my top end, it would have cost me hundreds in labor alone just to inspect the ticking.
I’m going to refer all my friends to this shop going forward and suggest you visit them too! In the meantime I’m looking for reasons to throw some money at these guys (who even says that?!), i’ll start with getting my tires rotated!
I can’t emphasize this point enough — if you are looking for an HONEST shop to work on your car, these are your people and they are friendly as well! Very hard to come by these days.

I discovered Greg and Dave through Unilocal and really liked all the positive views. The minute I brought my car in,(for both headlights out) I trusted Dave immediately. He showed me the light bulbs and let me know the last mechanic put in separate bulbs. I definitely got ripped off.
He checked out my car in the process and informed me of everything that needed fixing, but he wasn’t pushy at all. He knew I was on a tight budget and suggested the things I should get fixed immediately as they were very dangerous. The whole time he was very friendly, clear in communication and knew what he was talking about.
The other week my car’s caliper clip came off and I had to have it towed to their shop unexpectedly, but Dave was great and said they’d take care of it. The car was ready by the end of the day!
Both Greg and Dave are super friendly, qualified, and trustworthy. I will take my car here forever and for always, like a corny Shania Twain song. And you should too.

Dave and Greg are awesome! They are honest and give it to you straight. I’m so glad I took the car I was potentially going to buy to their garage today. Their price for a full diagnostic and body inspection was $ 115 (median rate for this kind of work). They took the time to show me every detail they found, and they were meticulous. I will not be buying that car now that I know what’s really going on after their quality inspection!

I got rear-​ended (ugh!) and needed some body work done on my bumper. After going around to different places for quotes, Morgan Auto turned out to be the cheapest, so I went with them for the work, and boy am I glad I did!
Greg and Dave are probably the nicest mechanics I’ve ever dealt with, SERIOUSLY! I can’t stress this enough. Dave’s an expat like me so we had a good chat about all that stuff, and he’s always offering me chocolate/​licorice — yum!
Greg’s the one who took care of me and did the work and he was nothing but professional and did a fantastic job. His estimate of 3 days was spot on and that’s exactly how long it took, no extensions or anything. He made sure I was all set up with a rental car, called me with updates without me ever having to prompt him (something I appreciate a lot), and he even matched the amount of reimbursement I got from insurance for the work, so I wouldn’t be out of pocket at all — AMAZING!
I will most definitely be coming back for my regular services now!

Morgan’s Auto is home to the kind of mechanics you would put on your Christmas list.
Less than a year ago I was having car trouble and found Morgan Auto after flipping through a number of Unilocal reviews. Dave tactfully explained my mechanical issue in layman’s terms and suggested a number of solutions. I ended up buying a new car and I would never take it to anyone else. I truly feel that these are some of the nicest guys in Los Angeles and I feel lucky to have found them.

I’ve been coming here for over two years and couldn’t be happier with the service and pricing.
My first experience with them made me a loyal customer: I was having engine issues. They were honest and told me that they thought it may be covered by my warranty and only charged me less than $ 100 for two days of investigating. They turned-​out out to be right saving me at least $ 2,000.
They’ve always been pleasant, professional, and great about communicating what was happening. You can’t ask for much more than that!

Finally!!! Good guys who genuinely know what they’re doing and care about their clients.
Dave and Greg: thank you for finally putting my spiral of dealing with crooks to rest. I wish I had found you years ago. I finally feel comfortable taking my car to someone other than my family mechanic 1000 miles away. I am going to proactively tell everyone I love to go to you for anything and everything car related.
