I now know what they mean by «Beverly Hills Doctor». This office is a cut above. I have not been to the dentist in years. I was met with no judgement. They ordered up a deep cleaning and worked something that would fit my budget. It was by far the most professional, pain free experience I have ever had in a dental office. The hygienist Lyndsey was so attentive and really cared if I was comfortable etc. I look forward to a long future with these folks.

Dr. Pruitt as a person is very personable and very nice. But I have to question her skills or the way she practices dentistry. I had crowns replaced by her. I’ve had many done in the past and never had experiences like I had with her: Each time I had excruciating pain for weeks during or after the procedures. Each time when she told me why, it was caused by what I consider careless or negligent work which needed subsequent treatment (which she then had to do). And a month after one of the crowns, the tooth became infected and I needed a root canal by an endodontist. Add $ 1900 and the pain and discomfort of that.
Whoever said she is the best dentist in LA hasn’t experienced a good dentist. And Dr. Pruitt would seem to be among the worst of dentists, IMHO. Maybe if she did the work herself she might be good, but — as others have reported as well — she leaves the bulk of it to assistants (I’ve NEVER had that experience with any other dentist) — and she works incredibly fast — and maybe there-​in lies the problem. But this is how she practices.

Dr. Pruitt has worked on my family’s teeth for several years now. She is very good at her job. After having been to several bad dentists who seem to be like Steve Martin in «Little Shop of Horrors», it was a relief to find Dr. Pruitt! Dr. Pruitt gets to the «root» of your problem quickly. (Bad pun alert). During a routine exam, Dr. Pruitt discovered that my daughter needed her wisdom teeth out ASAP, which we were very grateful for, since said daughter was leaving for college in a few weeks. And Dr. Pruitt’s dental hygienists are so gentle when they clean your teeth. I had to have my teeth scraped, down towards the gums (!) and even that was done with a light touch, with the hygienist seeming to anticipate when it was painful. No more nightmare dentist visits for me!

I needed a new dentist as my previous one retired. I went to about three before dr Pruitt and hated their service. And I know hated is a strong word. I have been getting my teeth cleaned at dr. Pruitt’s office for about 4 years but did not need anything more than that up until this past week. I had a cavity in a tough spot and dr Pruitt thought she was going to have to do a crown. I really could not afford one right now as I just retired. She said she would try doing it as a filling. When I went back for my first real encounter with dr Pruitt I was very very happy with her skills as a dentist. I barely felt the shot to numb me. She worked quickly and was able to fill the cavity without having to do a crown. She has great bedside manners and even has a nice voice and is not loud. She is nice to her staff and very pleasant to be around. Had the right amount of small talk. I enjoyed my experience in her office and feel very fortunate that I have found her. Laura does my cleanings and I really like her as well.

I love Dr. Pruitt! Today my son had an accident at school and lost a tooth, I called Dr. Pruitt’s office and she was able to see him right away. I have been going to Dr. Pruitt since she started practicing in Santa Monica and I have referred all my friends and family. The office staff is wonderful, they know me by name, they remember conversations from past visits. I have never been to a more superior practice than Dr. Pruitt’s. When I’ve had questions related to my teeth, Dr. Pruitt has been extremely patient, thoughtful and comforting.

I have been Dr. Pruitt’s patient for several years and would never choose to go anywhere else. I have searched for years for an HONEST dentist with great technical skills and good bedside manner. Well, I found her. Dr. Pruitt’s office is so nice, her staff is terrific — really helpful and courteous. The doctor is personable and thorough. She definitely doesn’t overdiagnose or recommend anything unnecessary. I have referred several friends to her for second opinions (they were looking at a lot of expensive dental work) and these folks have appreciated her candid approach and honesty. I have experience with several hygienists there who have done great work. I have never had a problem. I firmly disagree with these one star reviewers. Always research who is posting with such negativity. I am suspicious.

If I could give ZERO stars to this dentist office, I would. No matter how good the dentist is, DO NOT GO to this office. The staff is horrible and Elizabeth is the worst. She is mean and lazy and will do NOTHING to help you. They do not accept insurance. So you have to pay in full and then they file the insurance claim for you so the insurance company will send you a check. This is fine except when they file for you, THEY HAVE THE CHECK COME TO THEIR OFFICE AND YOU NEVER GET REIMBURSED! As of the writing of this review, they still owe me OVER $ 75.00. DO NOT GO HERE!

The best part about Dr. Pruitt is she’s really excited about teeth and she enjoys what she does. People who like what they do are just naturally better at their jobs — and you always learn something when you’re around them. (Because the nerdy things that fascinate them, they share w/​you). She puts everything in layman terms so I can understand of course. :) I never wait a long time at the office. I should also mention, in addition from saving me from a few cavities… Dr. Pruitt did my veneers and they came out very good!
I really don’t see how anyone can’t love her.

This is the first and only dentist I have ever been to. I practically grew up there! Dr. Horowitz and Dr. Pruitt are both phenomenal dentists, I love them both. Mirma is my favorite, my family and I adore her and we make it a point to schedule all of our appointments with her. Everyone in the office is very friendly and they make you feel very comfortable and at home. 16 years and counting, I don’t plan on going anywhere else :-)

Dr. Pruitt is the best dentist in Los Angeles and nobody can convince me otherwise. She’s a perfectionist to the nth degree. She cares about her patients, works fast, and manages to keep a sense of humor throughout every procedure. Everyone in the office is helpful and kind. It’s rare to find a dentist who can maintain this balance between compassion and professionalism, but Dr. Pruitt manages both, even on her busiest days. I’m glad to see her other patients appreciate her as much as I do; she deserves all this praise and more.

There’s no downside at Dr. Pruitt’s office. From the moment you meet Margaret at the desk everything goes smoothly in the often lost art of being gracious. They care, they follow-​up, they are what a dental care provider should be. Yesterday, even though Dr. Pruitt and others on staff were ill and not there, Margaret, knowing that I had a scheduled extraction that afternoon, assured me that she was experienced and qualified to make the impressions needed before I was to go to another office for the procedure.
How often to people think out of the box? Not often enough but Dr. Pruitt and her staff are spot on. Clearly Dr. Michael Horwitz found a team equal to his remarkable technical skills, excellent patient relations, and fair policy of charges.
While I’m never eager to see a dentist when the time comes I know that Dr. Pruitt will do it right the first time. Go there. You’ll be satisfied. No, I am not her cousin…

I really appreciate Dr. Pruitt’s down to earth approach with my needs. I’m taken care of so quickly and efficiently — I never wait in the lobby and I’m always greeted with genuine friendliness from everyone in the office. I especially appreciate Dr. Pruitt’s willingness to keep prices down, to explain what’s going on in my mouth, and to plan over the long haul. My mom has had a lot of needs, and Dr. Pruitt was able to refer her to the right surgeons when needed and get the complicated work done in a simple way. I especially appreciate her compassionate ability to listen to my needs and see how we can make it all work out without a problem. I actually enjoy going to the dentist now.

Dr. Pruitt is hands down one of the greatest doctors I have ever met. She is smart, straightforward, confident, but most importantly she understands the fears and concerns of dental phobic patients. I hid from the dentist for NINE YEARS and finally went to see her based on the recommendation of a good friend. She was gentle and understanding and won my trust. She kept her word and did not make one move that scared me or caused an ounce of pain. Additionally when I asked for advice on cosmetic dentistry, rather than just take my money and give me a mouth full of veneers she advised me to straighten my natural healthy teeth, proving she is ethical and in it for medicine and not the quick payday. She is a star and I strongly recommend her to anyone seeking a smart, honest, gentle dentist to brighten their smile.

Michael, the original dentist, is the best ever, but she’s always tried to do work on me that I don’t need.
She seems to be all about making money.
