Madewell

I just had a lovely experience here that I felt was worth some recognition. I had received some online-​only shoes from Madewell as a birthday gift, but they were a size too small. So, I brought them to the store at the promenade to see what they could do. I was anticipating it to be an annoying/​difficult task, but the woman behind the register was great and made it happen in less than five minutes. Other employees popped in and out to comment on how cool the shoes were, all very bright and cheery. I know it’s a pain to deal with returns/​exchanges, but they were totally upbeat and positive and handled it like retail pros. Yay Madewell & yay awesome customer service! (and yay awesome products!!)

I love shopping at Madewell. Unfortunately for my wallet I always find something I can’t live without when I go in. They frequently have «sale on sale» and have a great selection of denim, flannels, going out clothes, work clothes, etc. The staff at this store is very helpful and nice. I’ve purchased more than I care to admit here and will continue to shop at this store!

Had a great experience here at Madewell. Although the girls that work here are kinda quiet and not as approachable when you do get them talking, they help. I purchased my fave new bucket bag from them and Renee was a great help.
The store is gorgeous & when my bag went on promo 2 days later she was so nice and didn’t make me feel dumb for wanting a price adjustment. She gladly did it for me.

Bought a blazer and a clutch here the other day. Nice store setup at this location however no one greeted me (there was only one other customer in the store) and no one working there seemed to have any idea of why they were there. the manager seemed to be training some employees and they all (including her) came off as disinterested in selling anything

Ahhhhhhhh. Nothing like finding one of my favorite places to shop out of town. I was highly impressed with this store and the employees working. If this review catches the eye of the company itself, everyone there should get a raise or a day off with pay. From the moment i walked in i was greeted promptly, and was given details about the current sale and new clothing they just received. I personal had 3 associates assisting me:) I felt a little like a princess (hehe). Even though i left with much less in my account then when i walked in my experience was fantastic from the time i entered to the time i left. I have yet to walk into a Madewell store and be disappointed. Keep up the good work Madewell! I will be a forever customer! :)

Madewell has been one of my favorite stores since I lived in NYC. When I moved out to SoCal, I was excited to learn that Madewell has some stores down here. I have been to many of their locations and I’ve gotta say that this Santa Monica store hands down has the friendliest employees!
I am especially in love with Madewell pants. Their jeans are of high quality, and their «skinny skinny ankle sateen pants» are probably one of my favorite pair of pants I’ve ever owned. At $ 128 it’s not that cheap, but they are so soft and figure flattering. I wish that they offered that in more than 4 colors!

Aside from the fact that their clothes are stunning and I want practically every item I see here, I had a particularly wonderful customer service experience that made me want to write this review.
I recently lost a few pounds and am constantly (still) buying my clothes a size larger than I really need to. Old habits die hard. I had been on the hunt for some burgundy skinny jean-​type pants and found a pair I loved here… on sale no less! When I checked out, they mentioned that it was Final Sale. Usually no problem and I had tried the pants on and they fit great. After wearing them once, however, they had stretched out a lot and I quickly realized that I should have ordered a size down. I was so disappointed! I figured it was worth asking about doing an exchange (even though it was Final Sale) and chatted with one of the store’s associates, Calvin, explaining my predicament. He was beyond friendly and helpful and agreed to make an exception and hold the smaller size up front for me. He joked that he didn’t want me running around town in baggy pants that didn’t fit. :)
Did he have to do this? No. Was it my fault for buying the wrong size? Yup. Did he make me fall head over heels in love with Madewell? Yes. This was Nordstrom-​caliber customer service and they earned a lifelong customer through this small but important gesture.

This was the wife’s new favorite store on 3^rd Street Promenade. To me it was like any other store. The prices were affordable which makes me happy. There was also a place for me to sit which also makes me happy. Considering we came back here two or three times it was nice to take a break from walking and standing.

I pop in here now and then because well, the cuteness is alluring.
The one day I’m in need of assistance, the sales associate «helping» me… and that’s a loose translation, was clearly not interested in making a sale. I wanted to try on some wood cloggy shoe things and while I was able to flag someone down, they simply weren’t interested in building a client relationship.
I hope its better the next visit.

This is definitely my new favorite store! If you haven’t been here yet, I suggest you get your fashionable butt off the couch and get over to Madewell.
A blonde guy with flowing hair helped me and my friend with the shoes. He was so helpful when my picky buddy kept changing her mind. He offered suggestions and pairing options with ease and was honest when something wasn’t quite right.
I loved their tees, summer dresses, light weight cardigans and sweaters, and the dainty jewelry. Adorable!
This store is bigger and seemed to have more inventory than Century City and The Grove. Happy shopping, ladies!

While this store may make for sudden jumps in credit card bills, it’s nice that my wife doesn’t have to head all the way to Century City anymore to snag clothes from Madewell. Friendly employees make the purchasing all the easier…

Fun stuff, very on trend (so its likely to be out quickly), and decent selection for generally small stores. Lots of patterns, polls dots at the moment. A line of jeans, too. Lots of fun socks. A small line of shoes. The tops might work for work, but definitely more casual than J. Crew or Banana.
