I don’t normally publicly admit I like going to counselors when I’m having personal issues, but I’ve grown so much and gained so much from my experience with Bill I am willing to do so. He’s the first male therapist I’ve ever gone to and as a result wasn’t sure what to expect, or if I would like it. However, when he answered his phone all happy and cheerful at 7am when I called really depressed, not only did he brighten my day, he began changing my life for the better immediately.:) He doesn’t allow you to wallow in your stuff, instead you focus on what’s happening and how you will address it in the future, or how you might have handled it different when it happened. I’m very goal-oriented and this suits my style perfectly. Get ‘er done! I’m also very intuitive, self-aware and love personal growth and he’s recommended some great books for me to read. They’re so popular none of the libraries or bookstores can keep ‘em in stock! I’m confident that I will continue to get out of my depression, heal personal issues and better manage difficult situations I’m dealing with and move forward as a result of his patient, humorous, kind, unique style. I feel challenged, encouraged, supported and helped tremendously. I wouldn’t be where I am right now without his wise counsel. He’s definitely unique and may not be for everyone, but for me, he’s the best!:)

I’ve seen a handful of therapist, and this was my least favorite — by a landslide. After me speaking for only 5 minutes he started telling me what he thought was wrong with me and offered his version of what we needed to do to help me. He also has a way of speaking that isn’t for me — talking about inner child and analogies for everything. He seemed more the«burn insense» and«align my chakra» type of therapist(he didn’t neither, but just trying to paint a picture). Therapy is a very personal thing, so clearly this is just my opinion and he wasn’t the right person for me.

For the past 6 months my husband and I have been seeing Bill Kaufman as our marriage therapist, and we feel incredibly lucky to have found him. He creates the right balance of humor, insight, intellect and thoughtfulness to each session. My husband and I were have marital difficulties and he has really made a positive, lasting impact. He is very upbeat and we appreciate his ability to really«get» where each of us is coming from. He also does an impressive job of keeping the mood light, and also staying fair and balanced. He has a real gift! And as an added bonus – he always runs on time. We highly highly recommend him as a marriage and family therapist – we really can’t say enough good things.
