History

Established in 1996.

In 1992 Roberts love for all things French and fashion led her to open her own boutique, Ethereal– which became known for its extraordinary, high-​end dried floral arrangements. Even though Ethereal was a highly successful home décor business, Roberts still decided to get back into the fashion world and in 1996 opened her first clothing boutique in Santa Monica; a chic clothing and lifestyle boutique located on charming Montana Avenue. Roberts’ keen fashion sensibility and retail success lead her to open a second retail store in Beverly Hills, California in 1999. Ever since, Jill Roberts has been the creative force behind her two eponymous boutiques in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. She has catered to some of the most stylish, trend-​setting women in Southern California. Jill prides herself on impeccable buying and a flair for colorful merchandising.

Chic yet casual. Sophisticated yet playful. These are the best ways to describe not only the Seaton label but the line’s designer, Jill Roberts and her eponymous boutiques.

Roberts, a native of Southern California, grew up in the San Fernando Valley. As a young girl, Roberts immersed herself into the world of competitive ice skating. Coming from an active family, she balanced her love of the chilly sport with summer beach days of surf & sand. Upon graduating from Granada Hills High School in 1983, she attended UCLA where she received a B.A. degree in French Literature. While attending university, she worked as a sales associate at the Azzedine Alaia boutique on Rodeo Drive. Upon graduating, Jill was hand picked to become the buyer for the Azzedine Alaia & Gallay boutiques in Los Angeles under owner Charles Gallay. After years of traveling the globe buying European ready-​to-​wear, Roberts left Gallay and decided she would go it on her own.
