I worked with Emily Dawn Artistry for my wedding in November and I had a great experience with them! They were very easy to work with, responsive, and accommodating to my schedule. The team even came to my apartment for the trials which was super convenient. Heather and Ashley Joy did an amazing job on my hair and makeup, I felt like a million bucks on my wedding day! They made my hair and makeup look flawless yet still like me. They also did hair & makeup for my bridesmaids, flower girls, and mother and everyone looked incredible! The team was so nice and made me feel very relaxed during the getting ready process which I appreciated. I would definitely recommend them to any bride!

Emily and her team were amazing! Prior to my wedding I had Emily help me correct the color of my hair. I naturally have ashy brown hair but it was orange/​red from prior bad dye jobs. Emily told me she would do her best to minimize the red, but she did even better than that! My hair looked healthy and natural. It was such a relief to know that my hair would look natural and beautiful on my wedding day. I also had Emily get me clip-​in extensions for my wedding day. I’ve always been hesitant about extensions of any kind, but when I saw these I was shocked. They are real hair and matched my hair perfectly. Having the extensions in my hair gave me the added length and fullness I wanted for my wedding day hair. During my trial I met Rainey and Jenna. Both of these ladies are so sweet and so professional. Rainey was so great at communicating with me about what I envisioned for my hair and Jenna did an amazing job making me look beautiful but still very natural. During the trial the girls were also great about brainstorming ideas for my bridesmaids’ hair and makeup. On the day of the wedding Rainey and Jenna were set up and ready to go as soon as I got there. They stuck to an efficient schedule in order to get all my girls and me ready in time, but they also chatted with us the whole time making it a really fun morning and afternoon. Everyone looked gorgeous with their hair and makeup; yet still very natural which was important to me. I also chose to have touch ups for makeup and hair up until my reception. I am so glad I invested in this service. Jenna was with me right up until I walked down the aisle, and then as soon as the ceremony was done she was there to touch up my hair and makeup, and of course throughout photos she was right there making sure I looked my best self. If your wedding is outside in warm weather or if you think you may cry this is SO worth it to have. Jenna was even kind enough to leave me some of her lipstick for my touch up kit because the color I purchased did not match. Even though I put together a touch up kit for the reception, I never even touched it. For one I was too busy, but I also felt and looked great. When my husband and I got to our hotel that night I looked in the mirror and was amazed at how good my hair and makeup still looked. Through all the dancing, sweating, hugging, etc., I still looked like I had just had my makeup done. I am just starting to receive photos and videos from our wedding and I am so pleased with how beautiful I look in all the photos. I’m sure all you future brides have heard this before, but you will forget bits and pieces of your wedding, some things are just a blur, luckily you will have photos that you can look back on to remind you of the best day ever, and you want to make sure you look your best self for these memories. I highly recommend Emily Dawn Artistry, if you are looking for a professional company that will make you look gorgeous on wedding day, yet still natural, you need to book with them!

Emily and Jenna are great! A friend on mine used Emily and her team for her wedding and when I got married I knew who to call. I had Jenna for the day of and Emily was my point of contact the whole way through. Emily was very responsive, I ended up doing hair/​makeup/​extensions/​and extra hours of touch up. EVERY penny was worth it! I truly felt AMAZING that day. Emily met me before hand to match my extensions for color and they were perfect the day of (and I have ombré hair). Jenna did AMAZING on my hair and makeup and for the extra hours she was with me the whole day doing touch ups from first look, to Ketubah signing, and after the ceremony. I would recommend Emily Dawn/​Jenna to anyone, they are amazing!

I was referred to Emily Dawn Artistry by a friend who had Emily and her team do hair and makeup for her wedding. I can’t say enough good things about this experience! Emily was so professional throughout the entire process: organized, detailed, and informative in answering my questions. Also super sweet and fun :) I had 10 people getting hair and make up done that day: me, my mom, and my eight bridesmaids. I was nervous about fitting everyone in, so I can’t tell you how thrilled I was when Emily sent me a detailed schedule with everyone’s time, service, and artist. I’m kind of Type-​A so I LOVED this! And so did my bridesmaids. Because of that, everything went so smoothly the day of the wedding. Everyone knew what was going on, so as a result, it was super chill and fun in the room. Exactly what I wanted and needed to keep me cool, calm and collected.
Emily set me up with two of her amazing girls, Jenna and Rainey, to do my trial, and eventually, hair and makeup for the wedding day.
In terms of the look for the wedding, I sent Emily all of the details regarding what I wanted and didn’t want and she relayed that information and all of the inspiration pictures to them before my trial. They were super friendly and also really calm, which was clutch on the actual day of the wedding :) Because I’m an indecisive person in general, I ended up wanting a slightly different look for my hair after the trial. I told Emily the tweaks and she relayed that info to Rainey. I could not have been happier with how my hair and makeup turned out on the day of the wedding! Seriously, amazing. I got so many compliments about my hair and makeup that day. And my mama and bridesmaids looked so beautiful. I think my favorite thing about all of our looks was that they were very natural. As Emily put it, more «red carpet», less typical «wedding.» Exactly what I wanted.
Emily and her team are wonderful. I will be recommending to anyone I know who is getting married!

Emily is the best hair stylist I’ve ever come across. I met her when I was a bridesmaid in a friend’s wedding. After she did my hair, I literally followed her around in circles and stalked her for her contact information. I will only use her! She was able to understand my hair and handle it like no one else! I adore her — she is full of personality and love. I feel so lucky to have found her before my own bridal shower and wedding!

As cliché as it sounds, I truly can not say enough amazing things about Emily.
I have never felt more beautiful than when she did my hair and makeup on my wedding day. In a very random turn of events it ended up raining during my desert wedding. Emily was a trooper– she basically had to do my hair/​makeup twice since it looked like I had gone swimming after our first look pics. It was one of those times when I was so grateful I had someone who was not only talented, but experienced and professional as well. I would say I was a pretty picky and some what untraditional bride, Emily has such a high end aesthetic that surpassed my expectations (plus everything she does photographs beautifully).
On a more personal note, Emily was just a joy to be around. She is funny, energetic and interesting– the kind of person you want to be around right before you get married!
Overall, I can honestly say my wedding day was the best day of my life and Emily helped make it happen :)

Emily and her team are amazing. I have experienced Emily Dawn’s services as a bridesmaid at 2 other weddings besides my own, and every time I was thrilled with how I looked. At my wedding this past January, Emily and her team, again, were amazing. They made my bridal party and me look absolutely stunning. Additionally, Emily was able to stick with me a couple of hours during our photo time before the ceremony and do touch ups to ensure that everything looked flawless for the photos.

I booked Emily Dawn Artistry for my hair and wedding makeup upon the recommendation of my wedding planner. Emily is incredibly talented. On my wedding day, she made me look as beautiful on the outside as I felt special on the inside. So she succeeded in making me feel like a gorgeous princess! The compliments from everyone only served to reinforce my notion that Emily is a genius. The best part was, I still looked like me — just better!
Emily took care and time to understand what hair and makeup I envisioned for myself and offered suggestions to make sure it would be appropriate for me. She used the trial to work her magic to get creative with my hair (pulled in a low but cool looking bun) which inspired stunning results on the big day. I have honestly never seen a bun as amazing, creative yet polished-​looking before this one. My hair was a work of art. Our wedding photographer was even obsessed with it. He loved the bun and said he had never seen one like it. He even insisted on taking photos of the back of my head at different spots throughout our venue.
I was worried that being Asian, I would need to find someone with experience working with Asian hair and makeup. That is not a concern at all with Emily… she’s got vast enough experience to make her adept at all ethnicities.
Finally, Emily has such a laid-​back, genuine and warm personality. She is definitely good people. She immediately puts you at ease which is a big win on your wedding day! I highly recommend her and cannot thank her enough for making me look and feel as beautiful as I ever have! I will find any excuse to book her again!

Emily and the entire team at Emily Dawn Artistry are the absolute best! They did hair and makeup for me, my mom, my mother in law, and all of my bridesmaids on my wedding day and everyone looked absolutely gorgeous! All of us were so happy with our hair and makeup, and we all truly appreciated how the team listened to what each of us wanted/​were looking for. I’m sorry I couldn’t get this email to you sooner, as Daniel and I were in Fiji on our honeymoon for the last week, and just moved out to New York yesterday! But before I let more time slip by, I wanted to express my appreciation. I cannot tell you enough how much I loved how my hair and makeup turned out at the wedding. I truly felt so beautiful and can never thank you enough for your magic skills! It was absolutely perfect. The best part was just knowing I didn’t have to stress or worry about how my hair and makeup would turn out that day, because you are so reliable. One of the most hilarious memories I have, however, is taking off my fake eyelashes and hair extensions that night. I don’t think Daniel was expecting that part ;-)
Anyways, thanks again to you and your entire team at Emily Dawn Artistry for everything. You are all so talented. My mom, mother in law, and bridesmaids looked amazing! Everyone on your team so professional and efficient, and you were all so easy to hang out with that morning. Emily and her team (Ivonne and Heather) did my hair and make up for a photo shoot and were absolutely amazing! While I have some «picky» tendencies, they exceeded ALL of my standards! Not only were they great at their job, but they were beyond willing to do everything to my liking, making sure I was happy with everything along the way. In addition to their amazing talents, they are professional AND fun! I HIGHLY recommend Emily, Ivonne and Heather for any event! They’re the very best at what they do!

I booked Emily Dawn Artistry for my wedding hair and makeup the day I got engaged. Emily did my sister’s hair and makeup about a year prior. I was so floored at how amazing Emily made my already-​beautiful sister look so I knew I had to have her too!
One of the great things about Emily is that she is skilled with a wide range of hair types. I am bi-​racial and finding people who know how to handle my natural hair can be… challenging to say the least. But it was no problem for Emily! I had trouble finding pictures of natural wedding looks so I just kind of explained to Emily what I was going for and she nailed it! The hair was perfectly replicated on the big day and even held up through a surprise salsa routine I neglected to tell Emily I’d be doing.
My makeup was perfect too. I wanted to look like myself of course, but more glamorous. Emily did a great job letting my freckles show while still making my skin look flawless. And Emily’s team is equally great! My wedding party looked absolutely stunning. Hair and makeup is such an important part of a wedding and I am so glad I was able to use the best artists around.

Emily and her artist Heather did a great job on hair and makeup for me, my bridesmaids, and my mom and mom-​in-​law for my wedding on 7÷6÷14! I’m either a blow dry straight or pony tail type girl cuz I really just don’t know how to do my own hair, so I’m not used to being fussed over and having updos. I’m sure I did a terrible job of communicating what I wanted since I wasn’t even sure myself, but at my trial before my bridal shower, Emily managed to make my mumblings into something beautiful! It was the perfect up-​do for me! Not too structured, but not too loose either since my hair falls out of everything so easily. My makeup was perfectly natural but absolutely flawless… I looked like the best version of me I’ve ever seen!
My hair did start falling out after about 4 hours after the trial, which she said might happen since she used looser pins than she would use on the actual wedding day. As promised, she used different pins on the wedding day and a whole lot of them! It’s the first up-​do I’ve ever had that looked as good at the end of the night as it did at the beginning! It was rock solid, yet looked soft, shiny, and again the perfect balance of structure and looseness.
My girls all looked gorgeous too! My moms, who are very not used to this sort of pampering, were so excited to get dolled up and so pleased with the results. Emily and Heather are so personable and easy to chat with! It was a pleasure spending my wedding morning with you girls!

Emily and her team did my hair/​makeup for my wedding on ⁷⁄₃ and I could not have been any happier! She is seriously one talented girl and her team did an outstanding job on my bridal party. We met beforehand for a trial session to figure out my hair/​makeup style and Emily was just really great at listening to my concerns and coming up with something that would compliment my style for my special day! We ended up going with some clip-​in extensions (which are AMAZING) and everything really came out perfect. Her team (Jenna, Rainey, Ashley Joy, Heather, and Ivonne) were also really awesome and friendly and a lot of fun to work with! All of my bridesmaids were so happy with their hair/​makeup that some of them are already asking for their contact info for when THEY get married!
Emily also stayed for touch-​ups which was the BEST thing i could’ve done. she was beyond attentive and made sure everything was perfect and every hair was in place for our photos and ceremony. Everyone was so friendly, professional and i would 100% recommend Emily and her team to anyone looking for a stress-​free wedding day!

I could not have imagined a more flawless experience with Emily and her artists, Heather and Ashley Joy on my wedding day. They arrived on time, with an unbelievable assortment of products for all types, and ready to work. They followed their timeline and were flexible when needed. I have been getting my hair cut and colored by Emily for 2 years now, and I wouldn’t go to anyone else. I just LOVE her! She is so good at what she does. We have been through lots of sessions where I want to go way shorter, or have an angle cut, or whatever I want to do, and she always walks me through it and makes me feel super comfortable. She’s addicting… I’ve got my mom, dad, and aunt hooked on her too! And it also helps that she is such a sweetheart and a joy to spend a few hours with. If you are considering working with her… Do it! You will not be disappointed!

I adore this woman! She gave me the best haircut I’ve ever received. I was looking for a cute shag and she did it perfectly. She then went on to recommend me a few products, one that I literally cannot live without: Blowpro Textstyle. Perfect for anyone looking for that perfectly undone Erin Wasson look. Highly recommend!
