History

Established in 2000.

Edgemar Center for the Arts (ECA) serves as collaborative rehearsal and performance space open to artists of all disciplines and experience levels. It is a space in which original and classical theater productions, dance performances, visual arts and films works are performed. ECA believes in nurturing high level independent, experimental, and student works in various stages of development and is a collaborative workspace for artists of all kinds.

Our Mission is:

To Provide a physical environment that nurtures the creative process and encourages collaboration between writers, directors, actors, musicians, dancers and visual artists.

To Create a learning environment for children and adults.

To Invite the community to observe, engage and interact, to add its voices to our creative discovery.

Meet the Business Owner

Michelle D.

Business Owner

Acting coach and director Michelle Danner works with many A-​List Actors privately and on set including Gerard Butler, Chris Rock, Michelle Rodriguez, Penelope Cruz, Isla Fisher, Common, Zooey Deschanel, and Seth Mac Farlane among many others. She teaches internationally as well as ongoing scene study classes at The Acting Studio at Edgemar. She is currently working on two books on acting that are coming out in 2012. In 2006 she made her feature film-​directing debut How to go Out on a Date in Queens. In April 2011 she completed principal photography on the feature film Hello, Herman… starring Norman Reedus, Martha Higareda, and Garrett Backstrom.
