Curls Are Fun was established in 2011, Antonio Berducci is a freelance stylist looking to take curls and beauty in a refreshing new direction. At its foundation lies the DevaConcepts philosophy, which has loyal followers from all over the country and around the world for the simplicity and freedom that it brings to curls and waves. Curls Are Fun expands that philosophy to a whole new level, as a pampering and visionary sanctuary where you can embrace the beauty of your hair, access our products, and learn to love and celebrate your curls.

Business Owner

Antonio Berducci, the owner and creative force behind Curls AreFun, is pleased to welcome you to his salon chair.

A native of Spain, Antonio has called many places home, including Barcelona, Madrid, Milan, Los Angeles and New York City. In addition, his frequent travels to visit diverse cultures and experience fashion all over the world continue to inform his style and expertise.

Antonio is a graduate of the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica, California, where he studied esthetics and cosmetology. He was a national make-​up artist for Lancome, and then worked with Sebastian International as a platform artist.

With 15 years of experience — both as a stylist and educator — in hair and make-​up, Antonio brings a strong portfolio to the salon. He is a recognized specialist in curly hair and is a certified Deva Curlaborator for DevaConcepts.

Antonio Berducci is a true artist when it comes to cutting curly hair. Those of us with curly hair know what a challenge that is. Antonio is fun, enthusiastic and loves his work which makes all the difference. I was amazed that he makes himself available after the haircut if you have questions about styling: he’ll phone or Skype. Whatever is needed. I would highly recommend Antonio. I am thrilled with my new cut.

I drive all the way from Santa Barbara every few months to have cut and color done by Antonio in Santa Monica. I found him through extensive research after many unsuccessful poodle mullets from other places (curly gals know what am talking about). To me, it is worth the drive to know I’ll come out looking fabulous.

Seriously, a great cut from Antonio. Waited a couple or days to write this review, to see how real life worked with it!
I’ve been getting Deva cuts for years so was familiar with the usual care tips –he gave more detailed information on styling and second day care and then this fabulous cut, flattering and works with my lifestyle.
He listens, teaches, and in the end, you can’t go wrong with him — definitely recommend!

I live in NYC and am an active athlete and beach goer year round. I started seeing Antonio as he knew how to California «brighten» my locks blonde, while taking in consideration that I am not going to be gentle on it. Antonio also noticed on social media I wear my hair «up» a lot and had the wherewithal to add highlights so my updo’ looked great too. Not to mentioned Antonio’s is a delight, with wonderful tales of his world travels! Love him!

I’m very particular about my hair. Antonio made me feel very comfortable by giving me a thorough consultation and walk through of styles and suggestions that would work well for me. I’m supper happy with my edgier haircut. It’s kind of a hipster fade, but the best part is I have a lot of styling options. Antonio showed me all the different ways I can style my hair depending in the occasion and my mood. I highly recommend Antonio for a men’s cut. He takes his time, he’s confident in what he’s doing and he’s very skilled.

I go to the hairstylist to help me feel and look great. Antonio does this expertly!
I came in with the dullest color and the frizziest hair. It was in bad condition, the haircut wasn’t flattering and I needed an overall update. He analyzed my hair type, asked me about my thoughts on color and maintenance, and he asked me what my lifestyle is like.
Well he solved the color quickly and gave a blonde job like no other. People think it’s natural — and I am keeping it that way!
He gave me a haircut that requires very little maintenance and is good for both the curly days and the straight days. Low maintenance and chic — Yay!
He is consistent (been going to him for 7 years) and has yet to have an off day. My hair looks like a million bucks (and I feel great). Over these 7 years he has gotten me to transform significantly — keeping up with the time sensibly and ensuring I look great.
Also, he gives great lifestyle advice. My wardrobe has done a 360 since I started to ask for help. My travel plans are always made better because he has his globe trotting hot spots that are local secrets.

For those of you who have ever had a meltdown over your curly or wavy or tangled or frizzy, or just overall unmanageable hair… that you are always pulling back or hiding in a bun… let that go and book an appointment with Antonio. He will show you how your hair looks best for YOU! And you will leave the salon feeling great from the inside out. Antonio is a master! His pinutra (color) and cuts are the best I have ever had. After starting at Devachan in NYC I was devastated that I would not have access to this kind of curly girl treatment in LA… but alas Antonio has taken it to a new level. Antonio is a curl-​genius and an expert in the art (for it is an art) of pintura, painting high– and low-​lights on curly hair (no mean feat, I can assure you). I had years of stylists thinning out and trying to tame my very thick, curly hair, and finally came to Antonio in desperation. He encouraged me to let the curls do what they do naturally, no more thinning out, and the result is my hair is much more manageable and, if I do say so, beautiful.

Antonio is the best there is. I started at Deva Chan in NYC, then found Antonio through their website. I’ve been seeing him for about three years now and he is AMAZING.
While some might say it’s just hair, it’s not. You look at it everyday. It’s the first thing people see. Having curly hair can be a pain, but with the right cut, it’s beautiful. It also takes no time to do in the morning. Antonio and his assistants will show you exactly how to use products and clip so you can look curly girl brilliant at home.
Be warned, Antonio’s haircuts are not for those on a budget. But if you can spend money on your hair, you want to spend it here. Oh, and plan to be there about two hours.
Antonio mainly lives in New York, but is in LA every 4 – 6 weeks on a Sunday and Monday. It’s a bummer when your hair suddenly hits that «too long» stage and he won’t be back from weeks.
He now cuts my mom’s hair, too, and does just as terrific a job, even though her curls and style are completely different from mine. He’s great.

Well what can I saw apart from Thank you Antonio from the bottom of my heart, you have changed my hair and my life!
I have been following Antonio from Kenneth George to Christophe’s in Beverly Hills and them boom he drops a bomb on me… he’s moving to Devachan NY City aahhh, ok breath he’s coming back to cut hair… yes! So he left… whaa & came back even better, with his renewed knowledge of curly hair technic my hair is always having a good day.
Trust me you have to go check him out he will exceed your expectations and wow you everytime, he is here every five weeks and does this amazing dry cut for curly hair… you will love him!
