First off I want to say great store, great employees, and great atmosphere. I want to say thank you to the hassle free customer service. I recently bought the Futura 2000 collaboration chuck 2’s (which btw are amazing) and I noticed when I got home their were only 2 patches when it should’ve had 4 (all star & atom design). The next day I call up the store and asked me if I could come by with my receipt i simply said I can’t I live in the valley, I would but the 405… You know how that goes. Anyway, they made it as easy as possible to just simply mail me the patches the following day. For that reason I wanna give converse 3^rd street promenade a huge THANK YOU! For the great customer service. Peace. D.

Love this store but it gets busy and the lines get long. Today we did a little shopping early on a weekday. No lines and great service. This place is very unique and KOOL because you can build your own shoe. Your color, your design and your fun. Install your own tops, your own sides, mix and match the colors and literally use the rivet gun and build your own shoe. It’s a must do type of store and if you have not been here before then you need to check this place out.

Chucks are the only type of shoes I wear and this store is the only place I buy them. Anytime I find out about a new design, color, etc. first thing I do is call then I pick them up. It can be hard to get a sales person right away. But the store is very clean and you can get easily distracted by the wall art and especially all the different shoes. I usually come in for whatever I’m holding but come out with more than one pair of shoes. I absolutely love this store.

If I could give a zero stars I would. I ordered gloomy green shoes and got the wrong size TWICE. The third time I put a paper in the box with black sharpie distinctly stating the correct size as well as filling out the exchange form. I received an e-​mail that said they credited my account. But they didn’t. So I called and stated that I wanted to talk to a manager and she hung up on me… after being on hold for 27 minutes. I then called and left my call back number but nobody called back. So I e-​mailed them but didn’t receive a reply. I’m in the process of filing a formal complaint to get my money back. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!

Our visit to Converse was short but sweet. One of the laces of my favorite pair of Nike running shoes had unexpectedly torn, and, of course, I figured that a quick trip to the Nike Store at Santa Monica Place would provide me with everything that I would need to remedy this minor dilemma.
After failing to find any shoelaces of any sort at Nike (yes, you’re reading that right), we weren’t exactly sure where to turn, especially since the less-​than-​helpful (that’s putting it nicely!) Nike staff didn’t really have any advice to offer besides «We actually don’t carry those.» Thankfully, a quick stroll down Third Street Promenade led us to the Converse Store.

— The shop itself is well laid out and easy to navigate. The shoes and apparel all looked pretty interesting, and the custom-​made shoes area definitely deserved a second look — for another time, of course! After all, we were on a mission for some laces.
After explaining our situation to a member of the staff, we were assisted by multiple associates, who explained which length/​style of laces would be appropriate for my shoes. I appreciated that the staff took the time to lend us a hand in spite of the fact that we were making such a small, relatively insignificant purchase.
— And on the subject of this staff, let me say — all across the board, they were cheery, smiling, and upbeat. Having worked a short stint in retail in the past, I can tell you — it makes all the difference when a person expresses a genuine desire to lend you a hand, versus the robotic, read-​off-​a-​script sort of service that we’ve all experienced at one point or another.
A particular shout-​out goes out to Kat, who went the extra mile in terms of not only addressing our needs, but also in making us feel infinitely better about the condescending treatment that we had just experienced at Nike.
As far as the laces themselves, they fit my shoes perfectly, and add a nice bit of character to my kicks. Though I’ve only ran a few times since swapping out for these Converse laces, they’ve held up well, and I look forward to enjoying them long into the future.

All in all, you could just tell that this was a fun place to work at. When the need arises, I definitely plan to come back here in the future.

Walking down promenade and saw window display. Thought that getting rubber sneakers for my son in college back east would be useful. He wears cons — dont know why. The most uncomfortable shoe on the planet.
Well buying a pair of shoes in this store is a nightmare. Worst service EVER. Serious cons? You must be paying a pretty penny for rent here! How about training your employees. And btw — get another style and work on that comfort angle.

«Wow, I love NY»: kept on reiterating my friend as she walked next to the graffiti-​packed walls of the store. I tried correcting her, but there was nothing more truthful. The furniture, the placement of the shoes, whether hanging on the highly designed walls or resting on top of ever-​changing digital displays, and the staff’s attitude all reminded me of a typical urban scene in New York.
Converse store on 3^rd Street offers a great selection of shoes, ranging from more classic looks to Chuck Taylors All Stars II to collaborations with John Varvatos, you will find everything you are looking for (beware of how fast limited editions items go though). If that is not enough, to the right side of the entrance you will find a spacious area to design your own sneakers through extensive customization.
Customer service is satisfying too and brings to the table an attitude that reflects the cool culture of the brand. Beware, though, the store can get packed and when that occurs, the dim-​lit environment can easily turn into a battlefield, especially when new limited edition items are revealed.

In Santa Monica for the day, stopped into Converse store and asked several people that worked there for help and every single one of them could not answer our questions. There are employees standing around and not one offer to help. Service sucks!

They only have one sales person and he’s too busy and easily get confused. I have been waiting for 15 minutes before they finally realize they have not send in the tag for the pair I want to try at all. 15 minutes they come out with wrong pair of shoes. It’s only a weekday and not too many customers… Totally speechless…

I’m not a huge fan of the shoes. I know these things are like cult classics, but I never felt they looked too right on me. I respect the brand, and the culture. The store, however is amazing. It’s super hip, and trendy.
The shoe scull art on the wall is impressive. The whole store makes you want to buy stuff just to be apart of the movement. Staff was more than helpful, and had no issues running back and forth for people.
On site is also a custom shoe builder which is suggested you have an appointment for. All in all pretty cool store!

This place is meh. The have all the latest styles, which means you will always pay full price. The people who work there are very «LA»: head in the clouds, thinking about their next audition, etc.
I’m angry about one thing: I wanted a standard, everyday, very common, shoe in a size men’s 10. «We don’t have 10.» Really? The store is a flagship store, and for them not to carry a very common size in an extremely common shoe is just gross.

I wanted to print a scripture from the bible on a pair of shoes I WAS going to wear and they refused my service. They said they could not print anything religious. I am extremely offended by them… I will be boycotting this place for ever!!!

I got some customs. They hooked it up exactly how I wanted. Took time to lay it out and got them done for me by EOD and they were hella busy. Thanks guys. I love these Chucks!

i really like the concept of making your own converse shoes. you ca decide what kind of artwork to put on your shoes, for example. and the color of your shoe laces. the shoe lace bar was so awesome! so many different crazy colors. how fun! and there were ipads there to build your shoes. pretty cool.

Stopped in Converse today to get a new pair of kicks and met two exceptional people. The store was packed but that did not faze Javier, a customer service expert.
Javier was kind, sharp and extremely helpful. I also met his manager Jellynn who also is an all star. Jellynn was attentive and very willing to go the extra mile to assist.
This store is well run, properly trained and managed and a pleasure to shop at.

CONVERSE CUSTOMIZATION. You can only do this at one location on the West Coast — the Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica.
Fans of the Chucks can customize their own footwear, apparel, and accessories in any and every way they deem fit. The store also features the largest collection of Converse footwear and apparel anywhere in the world. I think that alone deserves 4 stars.
The shoes are sold at actual retail price, so don’t expect huge sales. However, this flagship store takes your experience to a whole new level. You can bring in your own design or customize your own graphic using iPad technology. To finish off your creation, one can add lettering and patches to match your unique style. How about choosing a shoe color of your choice or even matching that with a shade of shoelaces that you most prefer?
Converse is a subsidiary of Nike Inc, which pretty much dominates the shoe industry. I believe they also own Cole Haan as well. The Converse line includes One Star and the Chuck Taylor All Star, with recent sales increasing on the Jack Purcell line. The store also has some unique artwork inside, using different types of Converse sneakers. Worth checking out, IMO.
There used to be a time when I was anti-​Converse. They’re not the most comfortable or well made footwear around, but they’re the best when it comes to dressing up or dressing down casually with your clothes. If you can’t find a pair that matches your style, then you’ve got issues.

Yes, of course, I had to check out this Converse store when I was in the area: P This particular store is located in the Third Street Promenade and offers the usuals as other Converse stores (apparel, shoes, and accessories). This particular location, however, had more customized sneakers rather than specific styles/​models. I really liked the sneaker Santa skullart, that was set in a little corner with some leather chairs for those who want to sit down and take a breather. Staff were a bit MIA and scattered about.

The place is soooooooo amazing with lots of selections. You could get whatever U want! And service is very fast u don’t even to wait!
Today’s selection was all star classic white, design is essentially the same as the original introduced ago.
What’s more, various laces u could get for ur shoes is what I love most! Also the price is fair enough!

Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West sported Chuck Taylor’s during the Golden Age of the NBA. Every cool kid sported the high tops with 501s and a white tee shirt. Even with no arch support and no ankle protection, there was no other shoe for ballers everywhere.
Princess now wears these in various fashion colors. Today’s selection was mint low tops. Design is essentially the same as the original introduced decades ago. Only difference is these will set you back over $ 50.
Pro-​tip: Women’s size 9 is equivalent to a Men’s 7.
