A few years ago I was unemployed and trying to watch my money. So I cut down on certain things(certainly not drinking or drugging — I WAS unemployed, I needed to do something!). One of those things was getting my eyebrows waxed. Instead I had my best friend pluck them for me, because Lord knows I can’t do anything for myself. She saw these wax strips in the store and thought it would be a good idea to try them. On me. I ended up looking like I ate it on my skateboard and fell face first into the boardwalk. I had little patches of hair in certain places on my eyebrows — and huge burns on other places. I couldn’t go out for an entire week without sunglasses. Big sunglasses. And they weren’t «in» back then. When my skin healed up enough that I thought it could stand to be touched again, I went back to the woman who usually waxed my eyebrows. She looked at me and screamed«Oh my God. What you do?» and I told her and she said«No, you do nothing on your own. You come here. You don’t touch your face.» She was right. I feel like when I can finally go back to Tatiana at Cinta(who I love), she is going to say the same thing to me, because my eyebrows kind of look like that now after my waxing session at this place. But this time it wasn’t my being cheap — I had no time at all to get them done before I went down to Santa Monica and they were ridiculous by Saturday. And this is the salon in the Miramar. And it sucks. I also got a mani/pedi here. You sit in a cramped room in an uncomfortable chair. The woman who does your nails is really sweet and nice, but it doesn’t make up for the fact that this isn’t a good mani/pedi. But it sure is fucking expensive. $ 70 for a mani/pedi. And the massage part of it lasts about 1.5 minutes. And my fingernail polish is already peeling off. Not worth the money. Not even worth half the money. Go someplace else.
