I saw Dr. Goodman a few months ago when I started having really bad lower back pain — the pinched nerve variety, probably due to an office chair that had outlived its best days. Recognizing that it would take at least a few visits to relieve completely, I was still hopeful that one visit would be able to provide some measurable relief — and that’s what Dr. Goodman gave me. It took me down from an 8 to a 4, and each visit after that brought me down another notch. After two weeks I was good. That same pinched nerve reared its head a few days ago, and Dr. Goodman was able to fit me in the next morning. Getting up from the table, I felt like a new man. He knows what he’s doing. I also really appreciate something that you don’t find much anymore: he remembers your name and remembers things about you that you might’ve talked about before. And when you find yourself going to your regular doctors, year after year, but they have no memory of you each time — little things like that are nice. I think it’s an indicator of a doc’s personal investment in his work. I ran into him on the street last month and he knew my name — I guess I shouldn’t be surprised by something like that, but it’s so rare anymore. He’s good at what he does, so if you’re looking for a chiropractor, Dr. Goodman is your guy.

I first saw Dr. Goodman in the summer of 2004. I had thrown out my back one morning, and would have to be on a flight to Europe 24 hours later. A colleague recommended Dr. Goodman — and off I went to Santa Monica over my lunch break. I was back at my desk in the early afternoon, relieved, painfree … and very, very thankful. That first visit was a perfect example for why I have been coming back for 8 years now: a no-nonsense approach to ‘fixing’ the problem — a bit more ‘energetic’ if need be, but gentle and conservative if time allows. Always individualized, never hurried. Dr. Goodman will do his best to fit you in, even on short notice. Over time, I have also seen his colleagues(when Dr. Goodman was out of town) and I know that I am in good hands(pun intended) with all of them.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Dean Goodman for about 8 years now. He has an office called«Broadway Chiropractic Group» in Santa Monica(on the corner of Wilshire and Lincoln). There are 4 chiropractors that practice in this office. Each has their own specialty area. Dr. Goodman is truly the best chiropractor that I’ve had! Get this — he is a 60-something athlete that runs about 3 – 4 marathons a year. He recently ran the Boston 2011 marathon in 3:36 — so you know he is in great shape and knows how the body works. One of the reasons I chose him was because he is an athlete and has great business professional who is fair and ethical. Dr. Goodman offers a good combination of muscle stim, massage, adjustments /manipulation, and heat/cold therapy. Whether you need a quick tune up or assistance after car /work accidents, he is the person who can help get you in tip top shape. His hours are flexible and he is willing to rearrange his schedule to accomodate your schedule. Highly recommended!
