They let us return the rented bikes the following morning and didn’t charge us for an extra day, which allowed us to go out for a leisurely dinner in Venice. The staff gave us a lot of one on one attention and service. I wanted an old one speed bike to ride on the boardwalk, so I didn’t mind that the bikes were not brand new. It’s not near the boardwalk, so the prices are more reasonable.

This is was my first time coming here. I didn’t need too much; just a standard U-​lock. But, these guys took good care of me: they installed the mount to my bike and even pumped up my tires without me asking. I will be coming back!

I had a last minute hiccup before heading out to the last Ciclavia and I was scrambling to find a bike shop open early on a Sunday morning as most of the shops around my apartment don’t open until 10 or 11am.
I was fortunate enough to find Bicycle Ambulance open at 9am to help me out with an emergency tire and tube change. They were quick and reasonably priced and got me on my way for my ride. The small shop has a great mom & pop /​barber shop feel and I wouldn’t hesitate to suggest these guys for your standard cycling fare and repairs.

I happen to have a flat without my repair kit at home before a ride along the Santa Monica bike path. They happen to be right around the corner of where we parked. It took about less than 10 minutes to fix and cost about $ 12. I could have done it myself, but I was not in the mood. It is a very old shop, typical of any bike shop. The worker was friendly enough and I got to enjoy the cruise, so I was satisfied.

We rent our beach bike at this place.
20 $ for the hole day was a very good deal all the places at the beach charge u for 7 – 8 $ an hour. the bikes were in good conditions and the employees were friendly and helpful.
I would recomand this place to anyone.

Good, quick, and friendly service with a great price!
I took in my bike that hadn’t been used in about five years and asked for recommendations on what needed to be fixed. Per the employees, my bike only needed the front tire tubing replaced, some oiling of the gears and re-​taping of the grips. It all took about 15 minutes and my bike seems to ride smoothly.

This spot is legit! No-​frills, just skilled bicycle mechanics who want to get you back on your bike performing at its best. I brought in my Fiji Pro which unfortunately got drano spilled on it as it was under pipes in storage. While my paint was destroyed, the mechanical parts were salvageable (so I thought). Larry personally took this on and knocked it out the park. Within 6 days my bike was restored (besides the paint). Fair price, great service.

As other Unilocalers say, this is an old school place for bike tuning, overhauling, buying, selling, and renting.
Quick adjustments and safety check are free.
They sell new bikes and limited used bikes.
Don’t let the hole in the wall appearance turn you off. Its got a working barber shop vibe with good people inside. Its not like those other bike shop that ignore you until you buy something.
Tony and Danny are awesome and will give you a honest deal on bikes.
Go here if you don’t wanna waste time on Craiglist and Bikebluebook.

This is the spot to get your bike tuned up! They did a sold job on the tune up, plus rewrapped my handle bars, typically an added expense at most bike shops. The bike was so incredibly clean, looked better than new. Very happy with the results, I am definitely only coming here for bike tune up.
I have mentioned this place to a few other people & they have been here & completely agree with how great the service is.

Amazing service! I had a busted back break along with several broken spokes. Had is fixed in a matter of hours and it only cost $ 23! I was so blown away that I had to leave a tip.
I tested the work done before I left and it felt like a brand new bike. Upon re-​entering the shop to pay, the technician was like «what wheel did I just hear squeak?» I told him it was the front tire. He then proceeded to give a quick tune up to fix my front brake — completely for free.
Such an awesome experience. I will always take my bikes here and you should too!

Tony’s the man.
Got a tune up around a year ago and then the bike fell down my stairwell and messed up the handlebars.
Brought it back in and he remembered me (well, my bike.) Offered to fix it for free and charge me for any add ons that would be needed.
I recommend anyone in need of bike restoration, repair, or purchase to come here. It’s a real gem of a place, especially for the Westside.

This place is wonderful.
Have been here twice now.
Just came back from a visit to The Bike Ambulance because of an unfortunate incident trying to fit my bike in the back seat of a car. The handle bar and wheel somehow twisted completely and I couldn’t get it to twist back the right way.
The owner fixed the situation, oiled it up, made sure everything was in working order. I asked him what I owed and he said next time. For the work he did I was so grateful he didn’t slap a price on– he just did it out of kindness to help. I would not have been able to fix my bike without the necessary tools or know how.
He also showed me how to take my front wheel off (I know, I know nothing about bikes, just how to ride them leisurely) plus he didn’t make me feel like a dumb person ever.
Such great people working here and there will definitely be a next time.

Brought my old bike for a tune-​up on a Sunday afternoon.
The guy took the time to oil everything up, filled my tires with air, patched my seat.
I took the bike for a quick ride around the corner, and then came back to pay.
The guy told me he didn’t really do much, so there is no need to pay, and sent me on my way with a smile.
Can you ask for more than that?
