Established in 2013.

Miss Liliana is excited to take over some of Benedicte Schoyen’s ballet classes and a partial management of her Born To Play Studio as Mrs. Schoyen, after teaching ballet in Santa Monica for eighteen years (she used to own Santa Monica Dance Studio on the 3^rd Street Promenade), is dedicating more time to movie production (she produced The Music Box — A Dance Along Fairytale and in late 2013 she’ll film a documentary in Africa). Miss Liliana is carrying on what she learnt under Mrs. Schoyen adding to it elements of the Russian tradition she’s been learning elsewhere and elements of her early artistic gymnastics training.

Business Owner

Liliana Isella is a former artistic gymnast from the Italian Societa’ Varesina Ginnastica e Scherma where she trained until age sixteen. After gymnastics she became part of the theatrical company TeatrObliquo in Milan where she later worked also for fashion and commercials. In 2006 she moved to Los Angeles and soon discovered Russian Vaganova Ballet through former Bolshoi dancer Edouard Kouzmitch, with whom she has been studying ever since. In order to learn the Balanchine Ballet Method as well, Liliana has been integrating her daily training at Westside Academy of Ballet. In 2012 she has started teaching ballet at Born To Play Studio under the direction of Benedicte Schoyen.
